I have lived all over the southwest and I can say this food is amazing and never disappoints. It’s the closest you’ll find on Oahu to TexMex San Antonio style food. It’s the perfect blend of spices, cheese, red or green sauce, perfectly seasoned Mexican rice and homemade style refried beans. I’ve tried everything on their menu and can honestly say you won’t be disappointed. Some dishes can be expensive but hey, what’s not expensive in Hawaii. It’s my happy food!!
Nice little spot with some above average and decent Mexican food. I had the chile rellenos with rice and beans. I had the chile rellenos with ground beef inside the chiles. The rice and beans had some good flavor. The guacamole that I ordered was excellent, it didn't have any overkill of lime in it so that was a BIG plus. The chips and salsa, blah.....the salsa was good but.....the chips......no bueno. I guess no one wants to make homemade tortilla chips or at least serve the chips hot! Serving the chips hot makes all the difference in the world instead of feeling like your biting into a stale, week old chip.
Other than the less than basic chips. I'll definitely be back! I'll just avoid the chips.
This is our second time here and finding this place was actually a bit tricky. The directions on Google were a bit off so if you don't know the area, keep a good eye out for this venue. We really enjoyed our food like last time. We got different dishes and the food was still good and the portions are huge. We were one of the first ones here in the morning so everything was made fresh. I really enjoy their ambiance. The beautiful chairs and the spacious tables are good for our family of five.
I would most definitely recommend this place.
Small, unassuming tex-mex spot with flavors from the mainland!
We loved our visit. We parked on the second level of this strangely designed shopping plaza and then took the stairs up to the third level.
Our service was so friendly and you can grab any open table. The restaurant is fairly small and it was full on a Thursday night.
What really stood out to us is that we found the familiar tex-mex flavors from home, and we were thrilled as we've not yet been able to satisfy this craving on island. We had horchata, chips and salsa, beef enchiladas and chili rellano. Each came with a generous portion of rice and beans.
Don't sleep on this spot.
Really good Mexican food place to get. The burritos might seem pricey at first, but are really well worth it just for the sheer size, as that alone can be a entire meal in itself for most people. The appetizers are pretty good and the place overall is pretty nice to sit down an eat at in a nice and quiet atmosphere. They also have a wide variety of menu items for everyone with some stylized versions as well to change up the usual staple items. Overall a solid Mexican food place on the island and a nice place to sit down and relax to have some tasty food.
The food was great, service was friendly and quick (‘the new guy’ who sat us was upbeat and attentive). I was a bit skeptical when we rolled up to the strip mall style building.. BUT, the parking was plentiful (during lunch on a Tuesday) and the interior, while dated and small, was clean and pleasant. I had the SUPER Charro burrito in chicken so I got it with the green sauce and The Boy had the California burrito. Both were surprisingly very tasty, like well made, flavorful Mexican tasty. Oh, I almost forgot the habanero sauce! Fire, get some.. We also had dessert, sopapillas and fried ice cream. Both were ehh good enough, the sopapillas were a deep fried tortilla not the doughier puffy kind I grew up with but still decent. I recommend this place if you want solid Mexican food,
I'm not a Mexican food connoisseur, so know that first. Had the Super Charro Burrito plate with green sauce and I thought it was pretty damn good. Size was large enough to last me two meals. Only downside this trip was paying extra for chips a salsa, but yea, I'd go eat there again.
I thought the their food was very well done. The flavors were authentic and contained a lot of flavor. The super charro burrito fed two adults. The kids enjoyed ground beef tacos with rice and beans.
Service was fast and friendly. My family ordered brirra tacos with beans and rice added on the side, the mole enchiladas plate, and a kids meal chicken quesadilla plate. Overall, the food was good, but lacked flavor. They do have habenero sauce and it's really good.
Excellent food & great service. Tamales & carnitas were both ace.
The atmosphere was great. Friendly staff to help. The chicken chimichangas was a little der and never had much seasoning I felt it should had.
Pretty decent for a Mexican Restaurant in the area, they did forget the Queso on my birria tacos which are $15.99 on the menu vs the price of the ones with out are $12.99 so basically paid for an up charge and no cheese.
First time dining here.
Good service. Quality presentation and authentic tastes.
With 40+ years experience of eating Mexican food (lol), I can say this is one of the better spots on island. Had the quesadilla plate with beans and rice. Its good and reminiscent of one of my favorite spots in San Antonio, TX. I'm sure their other menu items are good and plan to come back to try them. ¡Gracias por la comida rica! The food was that good... didn't stop to take a pic!
This was my 4th visit. I have not been disappointed in the food. I am a Chile relleno girl. That's how I judge how close to my home cooking they get. The price on some items is a little steep, but otherwise very good overall.
It’s our second time eating here. We love their food and service. Very authentic and delicious Mexican food!
