Came in for lunch while visiting Albuquerque. Stopped in for a late lunch after walking around the plaza. So glad we stopped by, the food was phenomenal, service was quick and staff was friendly. Would definitely stop by again if ever back in Albuquerque. I enjoyed the chips and salsa, others thought it was a bit spicy. We had a variety of food, breakfast, kids menu, burrito and Frito pie, oh and don't forget the sopapillas!
Very impressed! I had the rolled tacos (I knew tham as flautas) and my BFF had a quesadilla. Tons of yummy veggies in his, and I really liked the guac I had for dipping. The salsa was a wee bit much for me, but I'm kind of a spice wuss. Would definitely come back. Waiter was really nice, too.
I grew up in Phoenix and we have some great Mexican restaurants. This is the first one I have found that I love here in New Mexico. The service was beyond anyone's expectations. The food is fantastic. I was here on Christmas eve and noticed they they were extremely loaded down with takeout orders but it didn't effect the service not one bit. I will be recommending this place to anyone who love Mexican food.
Yesterday was our first time trying out Manroe's. The service was great and the food was delicious! We ordered our food and got our food to the table within about 10 minutes. We ordered the chile relleno platter, super combination platter & chile cheese fries. Along with chips & salsa, sopapillas and honey. Loved it!! Will definitely be going again
Three of my sisters, one brother-in-law, and I had lunch at Monroe's last week.
I had a green chili cheese burger with sweet potato fries.
It was fantastic !
The others were all happy with their meals.
I remember that two of them had the meatloaf, and they said that it was wonderful.
I can't remember what the other two had, but I remember that whatever it was, they liked it.
I'd definitely go back.
Ordered the combo plate and the carne adovada plate with sweet potato fries. The portion sizes were very generous and our servers were very friendly and attentive. The environment is clean and I enjoyed the effect the skylight had in the dining area while we ate. The sopapillas were delicious as well, I recommend.
The food here is always really good. It's kind of loud in the restaurant but pretty good service as well. The sopapillas are very very good. The salsa is a little watery but tastes good.
Great food and service here! We walked over from the house we're staying at and found this delicious surprise so close. Three of us shared the green chile cheeseburger, chicken enchiladas with blue corn tortillas, and a pork tamale -- all very good! Recommend having a margarita here also, made with wine instead of tequila.
The food was awesome! The service was great! And the red chili and German was good. The red chili they ask you if you want it with pork or none! Try the pork! It’s good! First time trying their restaurant and other then that always buy their red chili at the super market . Very good. We’ll be back when we are back in town.
We ate at Monroe's on our first night visiting ABQ. We wanted to try everything so we split everything we wanted: Green Chile Cheesburger with onion rings, Chicken enchilada platter with blue corn tortilla, pork tamale with green Chile and sopas. It was a lot of food and we loved all of it. The service was great. The ambience was friendly and professional. Restaurant was clean. They do not sell mixed drinks, but they offer an agave wine margarita.
My husband son and I visited Monroe’s on 4th st. on the 3rd Saturday afternoon of December . I am very impressed with the team of workers they have. It was busy so we had to wait for a table (less than 5 minutes) and we were asked by 3 different staff members if we had been helped. Our waiter told us they were a team, so if we needed anything to ask anyone for help. The whole staff was friendly and went above and beyond. This the best customer service in Albuquerque NM that I have experienced in a long time. Thank you to the staff of Monroe’s on 4th st.
First time in Albuquerque and someone suggested Monroe's. Overall it was pretty good. My son and my boyfriends food was really good. What I ordered I didn't really like, I got the chicken taco platter. It was very bland, no seasoning added to the chicken or anything. I would definitely go there again but I'd order something different. Great service though! Our waitress was amazing!!
I love the food here. The waiter was friendly and refilled my coke without my having to ask. Their queso dip is wonderful!
The food was fantastic, but waiting by the front door for a table, kibitzing with the owner, made our visit special! He was warm, charming, and very funny.
We sat by the fish tank at a table for 4. A young lady took our drink order, and let us know that others might be delivering drinks and food. Everyone works for us! The drinks came quickly and we ordered food.
We munched on chips (light & tasty) and salsa, and chatted as we waited for our food, so I don’t know how long we waited. It seemed quick.
Husband had the Enchilada Platter, and enjoyed eating all 3 enchiladas, including the beans and rice. Niece had the Posole Bowl with extra cheese. She ate every bite! Nephew had the cheese Enchilada Platter. He left some of the rice since he’s not a fan of rice. I had two beef tacos on soft shells. Both had lots of beef and cheese, and were filling. I didn’t need any extras.
As we left, the owner engaged us in conversation about the meal. We told him we loved everything! And we did!
I had the green chili cheese omelet with chorizo and a mimosa. The food was good, I was hoping the green and red sauce would help to be spicy, but it wasn't really to my liking. I would come back to try out more of their entrees.
I was quite impressed with this location, it was very cute inside and out. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and they had a lovely outdoor patio section that was shaded. There were many options to choose from! I went with the Chile rellenos and thought it tasted very well! I was a little surprised to see if with cheddar cheese though. Overall it was not bad! Only knocking down 1 star because my MIL’s chicken tacos tasted like old/dry/unseasoned meat and the bill came out to roughly +$60 for 3 which I felt was a little expensive for what we got.
Everything else was great! - special mention to the salsa and sopapillas which I loved.
I went to this place when it was at a different location. The restaurant was clean, and modern decor was nice. The chairs were comfortable and clean. When you come in it is a seat yourself, and pay at the front when you're done.
I had ice tea, chips and salsa, and the taco fingers.
The ice tea was good. I could tell it was brewed fresh. The chips and salsa was good. I like their salsa because it is very refreshing. Please note they charge you for them. If you don't like cilantro avoid the salsa. The taco fingers were good. They are crispy, and the chicken inside was seasoned very well.
This is a good restaurant I recommend it for good New Mexican food.
