No better place for lunch! I haven’t tried the dinner menu but I’m sure it’s just as good and way affordable too. Friendly staff, everything is homemade quality, complimentary chips, salsa and sopapillas! What more can I say? Go and taste for your self! Now! I love it!

Got the Burrito Plate smothered with green Chile sides of Beans & Rice. Tasty 😋 and large portions. I used to eat there in High School & College (35-40 yrs) much the same as then. Only difference was the owner wasn’t there who always greeted patrons with “Hi Doll”.

We decided to take a chance on it and loved it- the shredded beef stuffed sopapilla plate was absolutely incredible- I got it with papitas and beans on the side. I also got Christmas chile on the side, and likedboth kinds. SENSATIONAL place!

I was in a party of four at 11 am on a Saturday. We arrived right at 11 am when they were scheduled to open. They opened a few minutes late, but it was not a concern since the food and service were excellent. Me and another member of our party and I ordered the carne adovada breakfast with over-easy eggs. The red chile with carne adovada flavors was the best I have tasted in Albuquerque. I was pleasantly surprised to see refried beans on the plate instead of whole beans that I usually see in Albuquerque. The portion sizes were great, too, because I had enough to take home for another meal. The sopapillas were excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again to try more entrees on the menu.

My first Sopaipilla. I don't know if they are this good everywhere, but they are tasty here. So, I guess for me these are the best. Service is very friendly. The place is a bit dated, but it's been around since 1960 and their focus on the food is well placed. We left having eaten too much food, but it was so good. No noticeable Breaking Bad stuff, but more than worth a stop.

I enjoy all the dishes. Knowing how to make Spanish food, they put too much flour in the red chili to thicken it sometimes. This is not a fancy place, but a small business with reasonable prices.

I have driven by this place on several occasions and I wondered what the food was like. Now I know. Service was polite, prompt, and relatively quick. I had about a 10 minute wait from when I ordered to when I received my food. Complimentary chips and salsa was fine though bland. Entree had a good presentation. Spanish rice can be really good or really meh; the rice was so-so. The refried beans was a lot more ‘soupy’ than I am used to. The taco, enchilada, and tamal were good. Overall, I’d give Taco Sal another try and order something off their specialty menu.

Came in the middle of the afternoon for tacos after a long day of shopping. I was starving! Waiter was super nice & quick, brought chips & salsa immediately. Tacos were delicious, the shells incredibly fresh & crisp.

What awesome dinners had here. Caught it before the dinner rush and had wonderful service. The chili relleno was done well, rice was full of veggies. The chips, salsa and sopapilla were all excellent. No wonder Jesse ate here! 😉

Been living in Albuquerque for a couple years now and have wondered how Taco Sal’s was. I first saw it in Breaking Bad and today was the day I finally came in. I had the soft shell shredded beef tacos. I mean taco is in the restaurant’s name. The food was like home cooking! So tasty! Already looking to come back and try the fajitas!

Really good authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price and you get a good amount of food for what you pay too, I had the chicken chimi platter with guac and green chili, excellent flavor and just the right amount of zing without being too spicy, their refried beans are light and almost creamy in texture, very nice accent

They have a sign outside that reads "World Famous Tacos". Which is right on the mark. I would say these tacos are made with an ingredient that is not in many dishes.....and that is love.

Recently moved to ABQ always looking for good Mexican food. I was expecting just a walk up and order, it's a whole nice restaurant inside. The staff was awesome and said it was all family owned, working and homemade. And it was delicious! Got to watch sopapillas being made and they were huge! I will definitely be going back!!

Everyone working there is so friendly :) the steak was overcooked and in general everything here was under-salted but no other complaints!
