This place has amazing Mexican food, and apparently the rest of Albuquerque knows it already. For a small restaurant with maybe 14 tables this place was packed. And at one point during our dinner tonight there were 10 people in line waiting for takeout food. The mole sauce here is excellent. Smoky and very flavorful. Fajitas were a little dried out, but still good.
Fantastic, little known Mexican restaurant!!! Famous for their mole. Chicken Enchilada Mole and was superb. They make everything fresh for each order and to your requested spice level. Service was excellent. Price is very reasonable.
My friend and I picked this off a recommended list and I'm so glad we did! Excellent kind service, clean and cheerful place, and the was delicious. I had the chicken quesadilla and had to take half of it home, it was so big and full of juicy meat. My friend got the Mistec plate. I tried a bite of the chicken and beef of his and they were both very very flavorful. he likes things spicy, so he really liked the green sauce. He said the red wasn't hot, but I didn't risk it, LOL. We will definitely go back. The food is basic, but generous, flavorful, and heartwarming. Like if Abuela made it for you. Oh, and instead of the typical chips and salsa before hand, he gave us a basket of these homemade potato chips that were so thin and light as a feather, but so addictive! Good thing there weren't more. :)
I am no expert with Mexican food, but the depths of flavor and amount of love can be tasted in every bite. Their spicy mole sauce and green chile soup are must haves and is the star of their dishes. I noticed that many to-go customers ordered their birria pizza, so I’m looking forward to revisiting soon to try that!
You MUST come here! Growing up in California, you are led to believe you have good Mexican food. And then you come here, and all before were blasphemous.
The birria is life changing. You are reborn upon your first bite. I am humbled by the incredible food, exquisitely friendly staff, and the no-fuss vibe. This food is worth the flight!
The food was amazing!!! Some of the best I've tasted! You've got to try the pizzabarilla. The free potato chips are also tasty, add a little Valentina to them
Our waiter was so nice and helpful with the menu. We had the pizzabiria, its most popular and it was very good, great flavor with the dipping juice, it's for 2 but it's alot of meat so we had enough for 3. If we weren't just visiting we'd eat here more!
The food here was absolutely amazing! I was in a party of four. We went during balloon fiesta, but there were at least 20 people in line so we came back the following weekend and we were happy we did. Everyone in our party felt the food was absolutely amazing. I had the Verde Chicken Enchiladas and they did not disappoint. The chips resembled thinly made potato chips lightly fried. The rice was okay for Albuquerque, but the refried beans were spectacular! Without much thought, they are probably the best refried beans I have had in Albuquerque. The only complaint was that it took them 15-20 to take our order and 45 minutes + for us to receive it, but I will be back, and I highly recommend this place.
The best place to get birria in New mexico that i’ve had so far!!! Fyi, if you are sensitive to spice, the broth / meat has quite a kick to it which I absolutely loved. i got the traditional tacos and my boyfriend got the birria pizza which was even better!!!! Absolutely mouth watering how much meat they stack in that thing!!
Tried their chicken flautas with beans & rice. Crispy, flavorful flautas, they weren't greasy at all. Loved the white rice, just like my moms. Hibiscus water was also very good.
