My husband and I come here regularly. We love 1) the homemade garlic bread, 2) chicken piccatta, 3) chicken cacciatore, 4) the chicken parmigiana, 5) chicken scallopini, 6) the gnocchi, 7) the ravioli (all of them), 8) chicken marsala, 9) the tiramisu, 10) the Caesar salad, 11) the clueless chocolate cake, 12) the risotto... and I'm sure as we work our way through the rest of the menu (which is hard when you keep getting the same things) we will love those dishes as well.
In addition to the amazing food, the atmosphere is all at once comfortable, casual, fine dining, welcoming, friendly, family-oriented, perfect for date night, all around great place. It reminds us of our times in Europe.
Great atmosphere and incredible food at a price that is reasonable. We had our Mother's day dinner at the last minute and they went out of their way to make room for us. The chicken piccata was awesome and tender. The lobster ravioli was incredible. This is now my new favorite place and hats off to the new owners for making it REALLY good!
We had an early dinner and ended up spending a few hours. Everything about this place was outstanding. The atmosphere was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave and the food was amazing (I am married to a chef and he was very impressed). The portions were just right and the taste (I had the veal piccata) was wow! Oh yes and they had Lambrusco, which made me very happy! Also I should mentioned that the staff was great very welcoming and even though we took our time and enjoyed everything our server was very pleasant the entire evening.
Authentic Italian food with friendly service and great owners. Sit outside in the patio area or be transported to Italy inside and try anything on the menu - it's all great!
Went to La Trattoria today for lunch and was happy with the entire experience. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and look to it. I especially liked the wine crates used behind the bar as shelving for liquor. Service was great and everything was out quickly. I had the carbonara which was amazing - just creamy enough without having any overbearing flavors or being to heavy. I finished with a cannoli which was great - served with some chocolate sauce, strawberry and whipped cream creating a great balance of complementary flavors. I definitely recommend coming here and I will certainly be back soon.

Love the food and drinks here! Tortellini is my go to! The Veal Parmesan and Seabass were exquisite! They also have an adorable front patio that's perfect to enjoy a bottle of wine in the breeze. 5 stars!

Chicken parm in a calzone? Best of both worlds. And from the sounds of the next table over, the limoncello is a winner for a good time. Love the patio while the weather's nice, and looking forward to revamped dining room when it's not!

As a pizza aficionado who has lived in Alexandria for over 15 years, I can confidently say this is the best pizza in town.
I can't speak highly enough of the pizza here. If you're looking for classic, thin-crust, New York/New Haven/New Jersey style pizza then you need look no further. Seriously the best pizza I've had since moving to the DC area. Anything else around here just doesn't meet the high bar that this restaurant has set.
It's a plus that the people running the business are super nice as well! Looking forward to coming here for many lunch-breaks in the future. I recommend calling ahead if you plan on getting a whole pie - they keep slices on hand but since everything is made fresh you may want to be ready for a slight wait.
This place has authentic New York style bagels and pizza. Everything I have eaten here is delicious with high quality ingredients at a great price. Be patient because there is not a lot of staff, but it's totally worth it.
These bagels are delicious and the real deal! It’s nice to get real bagels in Alexandria (finally). Tender, chewy, and a crust - just like they should be. This is a great little gem in south old town. Just a few tables but the staff don’t rush you. The bagels are great but when they’re gone for the day, they’re gone! My only complaint is that they don’t open earlier.
NY style bagels and pizza right in the heart of Old Town. My personal favorite is the everything bagel loaded with cream cheese, lox, onions, capers and tomatoes. Delicious!
The pizza is always made from scratch with the right amount of crunch, cheese, sauce and whatever toppings you like. Highly recommended
You want an experience, this is the place. Mike and his wife were the absolute best and made us feel like family. We were in town for a wedding and they didn’t skip a beat, they kept the party rolling. Mike showed us his family pictures and told us all about his Sicilian roots. The hospitality, the drinks, the food, everything makes this place a true gem and we can’t wait to come back! Thanks for the memories!
Great Bagels. Fresh toppings and the people working there are very cordial. The bagels are tender and perfectly boiled. I will stop by for pizza next! Highly recommend!
