I LOVE this shop! I also like to get it frozen and then bake it at home. There's nothing like the smell of strudel baking when you walk in the door!
I found this awesome strudels shop on Instagram, all I can say is yum yum yum~ It was totally worth the drive! Twice! From Rochester to Downriver. The only bad thing is that I probably couldn't find any Hungarian bakeries in my country...
Love this place. My fave strudel shop! Try the cherry with cheese strudel. Utterly amazing.
I like to call and order two cheese strudels, frozen. Then I pick them up and put them in my oven. Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!
Best strudel ever! We have tried ALL he flavors and you can't miss. Usually get the frozen ones & bake at home. So easy to bake cut in half on a cookie sheet. Deliciious by itself, with coffee or with a bit of vanilla ice cream. Try the apple with some cinnamon. YUM
I've been going to this bakery for the past 25 years and they have the best Strudel and kifli' I've ever ate! Fresh...Delisious...courteous...clean.
Only place I've ever found Bishops Bread. So Good
This is the Bakery that was in Delray on Jefferson st, with all the old looking cakes in the window. They make the Best Tortas and Monks cakes had them for weddings and other partys
The cherry and apple are great this year. I've got to try the other varieties, like cheese and nuts. The food here is wonderful. We always get frozen and bake at home.
The Best Strudel Ever... The dough is so incredibly flaky. Place your order in advance. It is so worth it
Great flavors! We tried apple, cherry, cheese, and nut! They were all delicious and I just wish I lived closer!
No words to describe the Strudel. Best around and homemade daily. Yum
The best kept secret in Allen Park that must be shared !!
Delicious! But get there early, some flavors sell out fast!
An amazing place, the apple strudel was great!! A touch of Hungary in Allen Park. Kosonom Szepen!!
Best strudel in the metro area. Look forward to visiting when in this part of town.
Love the cherry. Others must love it too, I know to call the day before to order. The rest is delicious as well.
I have had their strudel quite a while ago; when my parents were still with me, we used to go to Allen Park to get some of the Hungarian delicacies we couldn't get unless we went to Toronto. So, I'm reminiscing about my mom's strudel...she didn't make it often because it was a lot of work...when she did I would watch her stretch out the dough with her hands, and, after she pitted the fresh cherries, she would place a line of the fruit topped with a significant amount of sugar (she never used a recipe...it was all in her head, just the way she told me my grandmother would make it in Hungary!) When it was done baking, we couldn't wait to cut the 'rod' of strudel up and devour it...if there was any left the next day, it was a rare occasion! Now, I decided to look up the Hungarian Strudel Shop, and, to my delight, it's still there. I watched a u tube video about the Shop, and I saw the family stretching out the dough exactly the same way my mom did those fifty some years ago when I would watch her making strudel! Oh, and BTW, how is the strudel at the Hungarian Strudel Shop? It's AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! As the first person in my family born in the U.S., I was raised in a VERY Hungarian environment! So, I know how good Hungarian food and pastry is supposed to taste. If you would like to taste authentic and delicious Hungarian strudel, but aren't able to visit Hungary, visit the Hungarian Strudel Shop...you will be glad you did!
What can i say. I have enjoyed their streudel for years. Great people great food.
You will find no better strudel in the State of Michigan! Friendly, clean, and absolutely delicious!!!
WOW
This place is always spot on with the strudel!!
The Best!!
Do you like the strudel in Frankenmuth? It doesn't even touch Hungarian Strudel Shop. This is the best strudel I've ever had in Michigan, and I'd put it up against your grandma's best ever attempt... and I've tried it every place. The dough is special. I know apple is the standard by which all strudels are measured, but the cherry raises the bar. Next time I'll try the cheese or the blueberry. Trust me, you NEED this!
Was craving Strudel and wanted to find someone local who made it fresh. Found this place online and made the half hour drive. I was glad I did. The wonderful lady inside was very welcoming and informative and made us very excited to drive home and sample the strudel. After trying it, everyone was happy. We'll definitely be back.
You hunger for strudel ? Than you need to visit the Hungarian Strudel Shop. The crust is so flaky. You can also buy them frozen.
By the way they make egg noodles.
