Best Indian buffet I ‘ve ever had in US at a reasonable price. Since only two of us went, the waiting time was also less. I am a vegetarian, and I was satisfied with the menu. In particular, I loved the south Indian tiffin.

Had dinner here on our last night in Atlanta. No matter how far and wide you travel, having a good Indian restaurant to go to for an instant fix of Desi food is always welcome. Madras Chettinad is one such place. Spacious and ample seating space.

The orders are taken promptly and dishes served in good time. Taste is consistent and authentic. Overall service is good and the since we were sitting close to the kitchen area and were the last of the customers to leave before closing time, we could here the happy din of the kitchen and service staff as they prepared to finish their shift.

The prices are reasonable and for a family of 3 adults and 2 kids we paid $59.81 plus gratuity.

Loved the Chaat Papdi, Mango Lassi, Mysore Plain Dosa and Butter Chicken with the Plain and Garlic Nans.
The Idli and Madras Grilled Fish served sizzler style was ok, the fish could have been seasoned and cooked better. The accompanying rice and vegetables were a bit dry and lacked flavour. However, our overall experience at the restaurant was definitely worthwhile.

We normally come here for the Sunday Buffet which is a handsome spread of a variety of delicacies and is always crowded and has a long waiting line ....

Ordered through Uber Eats.  We got the Chilli Bhajiya, Chicken 65, Butter and Bullet Naans, Kohlapuri Mutton and Chicken Tikka Masala.  Requested spicy for everything and they delivered on that.  The Tikka Masala was great, the Mutton was alright too but very similar to a home cooked dish which is ok, but would have preferred something different – would go for something else next time.  The Bhajiya was pretty good along with the Chicken 65 but quantity is a bit less.  Still good taste, would deliver from them again.

We went for dinner hence had to order a la carte. The food was decent and so was the quality. I didn't enjoy the ambience much though.
We ordered vegetarian food and our friends ate non-veg. I guess both parties were pretty satisfied.
The spread is very good and it is a nice place to hang out with family and friends.

This is my first Indian restaurant in Atlanta. Haven't had a chance to eat veg much, but took a nibble in samosa chat, which was full of curd, some vegetable chettinad, which was OK. Chicken 65 was awesome, chicken chettinad is great. Chicken biryani was like rice mixed with chicken gravy. Dish prices are less, so even if you are low on budget, you can enjoy these delicacies.

This is a decent place if you're missing Indian cuisine! The prices are very affordable and the food portions are value for money. They have catering services and we have utilized their service a number of times on Indian festivals.

You can find Madras Chettinaad at 4305 State Bridge Rd #108, Alpharetta, GA 30022 in the Alpharetta Common Shopping Center anchored by Publix. Traveling East from 400 on Old Milton Pkwy, you'll find this shopping center right at the State Bridge split, where Kimble Bridge, State Bridge and Old Milton come together. This is an expansive space with tons of seating and a very large buffet - perhaps the largest Indian buffet in Atlanta.

It somehow always so happens that you do not expect a lot from Indian restaurants in the U.S. I think that's the case with almost all Indians. You start comparing the authenticity and to what value the restaurant has been true to Indian food. My favorite Indian place here by far has been Deep India now named Adeep India in Cincinnati, my college town. Okay, I don't want to digress but just wanted to make it clear that it will remain my favorite Indian place unless said otherwise! I thought that was the only great Indian restaurant with authentic Indian food. Okay you guys have by now figured out my love for Deep India, but I know this review is not about that. Madras Chettinaad broke all my preconceived notions about other Indian restaurants in the U.S.

So regressing, this place was very well set up. We got there just before the closing time, 9.30 in the night. The ambiance is perfect and has a very South Indian feel to it. We waited a while to be seated as the place was full. A good sign for any restaurant. Also, this is the first time I saw dishes I was actually excited to order! We got down to ordering and here is what we had:

Paneer Chilli (The only letdown for the evening. I am very specific about any Chilli dish, it should have green chillies in it! This was an overdone tomato sauce starter)
Chicken 65 (My friends said it tasted pretty great)
Egg Biryani (Aromatic and very tasty. Brownie points for the well made raitha too!)
Chicken Biryani (My friend liked what she paid for)
Uttamppam with Chicken Curry (Not the exact name of the dish. It tasted very homely is what my friend said. Mind you, homely is the best compliment any restaurant dish can ever get!)
Paav Bhaji (This tasted great too!)

They are not stingy on the quantity and serve you well. The staff was pleasant and courteous. Our bill was around 70 dollars which was totally worth the good food! If I am ever back in Atlanta, I will definitely eat here again!

One of the best Indian buffet in Atlanta, I had indian buffet at almost every place nearby and Madras Chettinad is best among them.

It has got a bigger space as compare to other indian restaurant's but still you need to wait 10-20 mins for your turn. It has got nice variety in both veg and non veg and equally good taste.

Tip - go early as if you go late then some items might be over.

Food - 4 star
Ambiance - 3.5 star
Service - 3.5 stars
Value for Money - 4 stars

Overall on Chatkara Meter - 4 stars

Best Indian Buffet in Georgia. Both North and South Indian choices. Huge place. Very busy at lunch. Buffet is 10 on weekdays and 14 on weekends. Best Tandoori Chicken I have ever had. People gripe about the service but I bet they are more attentive at dinner. I got up to get a refill on water and they got it for me right away. It is a buffet after all. Can't wait to go back.

The food is so good. However the service is lacking. Don't expect a water refill- if spicy food irritates you, ask for several cups of water to begin with, because water refills come scarce. However, the food is fresh and delicious and there is a large variety of things to try. I have yet to be disappointed by the food! So yummy!

Great Value and Good Food. Authentic South Indian Cuisine. The menu and food is basic with value pricing. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. The service is average but not fancy. The menu includes a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian meals. My dinner party included 5 people from mid central India who were raving about the homemade taste and exceptional quality of the food. The menu items can be spicy unless you request a milder version when ordering. I would recommend this restaurant for general casual business meetings, or as a nice place to dine with friends or family.

Awesome. My favorite Indian place OTP. The buffet is pretty good and a decent value for the money. The real magic happens at dinner when ordering fresh off the menu. The owner is incredibly friendly and runs a top-notch restaurant. We chat at length every time I eat there.

South India in Alpharetta. If you are looking for South Indian food in the Atlanta area you have a few options, but most, when you ask them to spice the food up a bit, look at you funny and give you what they think Americans think is spicy. At Madras they know how to do Inidan spice and they have a variety of Dosa dishes which are unreal. Very good South Indian food.

Good variety. I was happy to see an Indian restaurant return to the Minerva location. This place is nicer on the inside. They did take away many of the tables, but it looks better. The food is good. More spicy than before. They have several things that are always on the bar, but they have good variety so it is not the same thing every time. I love Indian food and I have tried most in the area. This place is a hit!

They still have Alpharetta’s biggest lunch buffet yet is priced competitively related to their peers. They’ve also got some social media deals out there. Bonus points if you can pronounce “Chettinaad” as I certainly cannot.

...we had to try the Mango Lassi. This is a favorite of mine, though I seldom have room for one after a huge Indian feast.

Madras Chettinaad came through in a big way. We started with samosas, which I always love - but here they were truly outstanding, flaky, not at all greasy and filled with spiced potato goodness. I adore the tamarind and mint sauces served on the side - so delicious! For the main course we shared a special dosa, chicken tikka masala and saag paneer along with an order of garlic naan. I really like how Madras Chettinaad serves great veggie and meat dishes. Their focus is on Chettinaad cuisine, which originates from a region of the Tamil Nadu state in India. This means there are tons of great vegetarian curries and dosas as well as meat dishes, all perfectly spiced.

The décor is much more modern and hip than in most Indian restaurants. There is a chic chandelier and a large flat-screen TV showing Bollywood music videos.

If you're new to Indian cuisine, I recommend a buffet to try a variety of dishes. That said, this is the best Indian buffet that I have been to. The atmosphere is classy and elegant and the food is incredible. They only serve a buffet at lunch until 2pm and the price is $15. Each item is unique and exploding with flavor. I drive an hour to get to this place and it's well worth the trip. I wish I more stars to give!!

Been 7+ years and multiple visits to this restaurant. This is one of my favorite Indian restaurant around the area. Most of the time I go here for lunch buffet. Me and my hubby goes here when we crave so much for Indian food. Tasty and quality food, lots of variety, plenty of space, fast service and what not. This place is always full but we don't have to wait for so long. Not only desi crowd but equally (or even more) non-desi I see here.. Fruit custard is always a hit for me. This time I so loved their fresh mix veg pickle that I purchased it separately (Now they know who is posting this review 😜)

This is a good quality Indian restaurant. Here you will find delicious foods. There is a buffet in the afternoons. It includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian varieties and even fruits and desserts. We had the satisfaction of eating a wonderful buffet with friends, after so many years. Our friends at alpharetta recommended this restaurant to us. There is good space to sit and eat. The customer service was good. There is a large parking facility at the front of the restaurant. We would like to come here often.

One of the best buffets in Atlanta! Indeed they have their ups and downs, but still, it's better than most of the buffets available here. Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian, lots of options for everyone. Tip- It gets jam-packed on weekends, so try to reach early or be ready to wait.

We went to Madras Chettinaad for buffet and it was good. Not great but good. Items were fresh and taste was good. Vegetarian food is more tastier than Non vegetarian food. May visit again but not sure.

I'm not much into indian restaurants, but i really liked Madras. You do have options not so spicy, and I loved the mango chutney.
