I absolutely love love love this place!!! ��Great atmosphere. The renovations they've done to this place is amazing. It is beautiful! And, the food is wonderful .. recipes are from their mom. I think that is so cool! The patio is a great place to come for a cocktail � and relax. Great job Chris!
Great food and great patio!! Went for Mother's Day lunch and it was Awesome. So excited to have this spot to go here in Alton!! Love it!

Excellent food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere and they aim to please. The owner asked how everything was and definitely engaged in feedback. We had a beautiful day on the patio.
We were there for the grand opening! Great Grilled chicken on Chibotta bread, Paul had Italian roast beef, yumm! Great time on the patio listening to Skylark Brothers. We are on a roll... it was our 8th time being at the bistro! Love it!!
Cool spot. Nice patio! Very friendly and professional staff! The sandwich was delicious and enjoyed the live acoustic rock music.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Only complaint was the lack of indoor seating (we went on a hot day so it was too hot to enjoy the patio seating) and a changing table in the restroom for parents.

Had a great evening at one of our new Alton favorites! Salad and meat and cheese tray were awesome as well as the wine. Manager came up and spoke to us and was very friendly. Beautiful outdoor space. We will be back frequently this summer and hope everyone else in Alton and elsewhere will too!
Had lunch with my mother after some bridal shopping. They were really great about my dairy allergy questions and were happy to modify my sandwich, which i always feel so bad about. Food was so good and the place in general is a gem. We loved the atmosphere and friendly staff! Thanks again!

I highly recommend this place to everyone. There is nothing at all bad about the food here. If you have a big appetite, I suggest ordering their gigantic sandwich, called the Wadlow. This sandwich is jam packed with all the right ingredients and is very healthy although it has at least four different meats, as it is piled high with different vegetables, avocado included. I love this sandwich all around. The bread was soft and fresh, and everything tasted great, as well as the small salad I ordered on the side. The sandwich is so huge, I could barely get my mouth around it to bite into it, but it is well worth the effort and can serve two people. After eating the whole sandwich for lunch, I did not have to eat anything else for the rest of the day. The meats are of high quality, served in very generous portions and were bursting with flavor. This restaurant is five stars hands down! We will definitely be back to make the trip across the river when we are in St. Louis again visiting from Colorado.

I rode my bicycle across the state of Missouri last week from KC to St Louis with a detour through Grafton and Alton because for fun I wanted to ride the ferry across the Mississippi. I found this restaurant on Google and it looked interesting. I asked the young lady taking orders if there was anything on the regular menu as good as the special they were offering. She conferred with another young lady and they both agreed the special was awesome and even described how the sweetness of the peach combined with the salty flavor from the grilled hamburger was amazing. I thought this was a pretty good description so I ordered one. They both asked me to come back up and let them know how I liked it afterwards. I was impressed by how enthusiastic, friendly and sincere they were, it seems like most teenage girls don’t want to be be bothered talking with strange adults. That burger was absolutely delicious. It does sound like an odd combination for a hamburger, but everything was done right, down to the last ingredient and the toasting of the bun which always makes a burger better. I chose the chips for my side…I wanted salt since I was on a long bike ride in the heat, and was pleasantly surprised they were homemade and served in a miniature brown paper bag. They were very good. I suspect that this place does everything good because my experience was outstanding. I regret that I won’t have more opportunities to visit since I live in Kansas City. Thanks for an excellent meal and experience!
This is nice place to grab a sandwich, salad, or soup. Love the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. We sat in their upstairs over-flow in the gift shop next door. They also had outside seating that must be great in the spring. We had the rugrat and ham and cheese sandwichs. Both were winners.
We had am absolutely wonderful meal again! This place never fails to please. Service was fantastic as well!

I don't like the tip first idea, but it's self service after you pay so you may want to tip yourself.
The sandwiches are 100% awesome I've never had a bad one.
The ultimate ham and cheese is fantastic.
I wish they had a little more indoor seating.

Food is always made perfect. It's so delicious. The people that work here always do a great job. We eat here a couple times a week and never had any issues. I definitely recommend eating at brown bag bistro. Try the granny grilled cheese and the cheese cakes.
Went here with a coworker the other day. This was my first time ever coming here. Sandwich was amazing and staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed the outside dining on a beautiful day as well. Will definitely be back to try some other goodies.
