I ordered 2 pounds of wings last night. I called in ahead and ordered so I could pick up in the drive through. It only took about 10 minutes. I’ve never had the wings from here but love smoked food and have eaten here many times over the years. They had other sauces but I wanted something a little spicy and they don’t have a standard “buffalo” sauce so chose their house Creeper. These are not your typical buffalo wings. The wings were all good sized. I think they would be delicious without sauce as the smoky flavor really came through which I enjoy. The sauce had a little sweetness and a little spice. They were fantastic. I ate a whole pound myself. My son had several and he also thought they were fantastic. If you are looking for the same old buffalo wings that everyone has, this is not them. If you are looking for some flavorful wings that don’t burn too much this is your spot to try.

My fiance and I love going here ! The food is amazing, and is a great price for all of the food you get. Most importantly, we love going here because, after 19 years, the waiter that served us still showed passion to work there! So refreshing seeing someone proud of the food they serve. Definitely would recommend !
We are eating at Claxon’s BBQ in Altoona, Iowa for our 1st year wedding anniversary. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food and the people. They catered our wedding reception and it was wonderful! We recommend Claxon’s to anybody needing a caterer. Let Andy and his crew take care of you! Tonight, we had the pleasure of having Linda as our waitress! We will be back AND we recommend Claxon’s to all our friends! Can I give 10 stars?!
Excellent experience! Staff was busy but very attentive to their tables. Glasses were never half empty before we were attended to. Bone in pork loin was superb. Ribs and chicken were also very good. The Creaper wings were a treat as well. Way to go Claxon's!!!
Claxon's has great food, a casual atmosphere, and always has a game on for you sports fans. Happy hour M-F 3-6. also daily food specials. One of my favorite places to dine.
Finally tried Claxons. I was not disappointed, it was the best food I have had in quite sometime. Meat was juicy and tender. The potato salad was awesome!

Great, and Gluten-free choices!. Our son said AWESOME after each thing he tried. Great brisket and pork. And lots of Gluten-free options with knowledgeable staff was greatly appreciated. 4 stars!
YUMMM!!!. Went here for my husband's birthday and was NOT disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the service was outstanding and the food was delicious! So happy to have my husband treated to a birthday dessert. Recommend Claxon's for special days and everyday days!
Great ribs!. I do a lot of bbq at home so I am picky when I eat out. I ordered the full slab and never put any sauce on them because they were awesome naked. That is a good test of bbq to me. I really liked the beans and the service was good. It is a 20 min. drive for me but I will be back. Thanks!
I love it. Can't wait to be able to come again. The food was Awsome. Their ribs and smoked meats are finger licking good and the service was amazing.
