Breakfast is, by far, my fave meal of the day. One of my former students, now a dear friend, was in town visiting her folks, so we celebrated her birthday by getting together for breakfast st V.I. and Liz, our server, took super good care of us. The food was delicious, and the service was quick and efficient while also giving my friend and I plenty of time to visit/catch up without feeling rushed out the door. Great, relaxed atmosphere for a get-together. My family loves this place and is SO relieved it re-opened after the shut-down following Covid-19. Keep up the terrific work, everyone!

Place was clean and we were seated quickly since it wasn't very busy. Hostess was very nice and attentive. Prices are very reasonable. I've been going here for years and hope to go for many more. It's one of my favorite places to eat in Ames!
Took a bit to get seated and it wasn’t during a busy time. Waitress was fantastic! My good order came out incorrect twice, only sent it back the first time. Coffee had grounds in it. Wasn’t a horrible experience and other than the few issues above, everything else was great.
I used to come from North Carolina to do agricultural work here in Iowa. It was tough work, but one thing that always gave me comfort was eating at the village inn restaurant. It is the thing you least expect to make an great impact in the memories of younger days. But, the food I had here, through the many years of travel, always stays a cornerstone in my mind. Thank you for the great food!
