I am in love with the new Pelican Bay bookstore! The location is perfect, the atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming, and the addition of the coffee shop was a great idea. When you walk in you are welcomed by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, amd the wonderful smell of books and the beautiful wood bookshelves. There's a spot by the fireplace to sit and relax, a stage area that houses the kid's book section, several tables and bar areas for sitting, sipping and reading a good book, and a larger table for meeting with friends or coworkers. The owners and employees are friendly and helpful as well. So happy to have the new expanded bookstore and coffee shop to visit!

Pelican Bay was my home away from home for roughly 15 years! I moved from Anacortes 5 yrs ago and have visited many used bookstores since. I have never found one comparable yet!

Reminiscent of Grandma's house. Cozy and inviting. The smell of coffee and cookies.... The type of place you could spend all afternoon, lost in thoughts and books. Love it!

Love this place and when I come up from LA to visit my parents PBB and the Calico Cupboard are absolute essentials. I always spend lots on books for my UCLA Wordcommandos creative writing workshop for veterans with PTSD.

What a beautifully designed store! When you enter, you're drawn from one area to another. In addition, there is a coffee bar and tables tucked away which seem more private. It's impossible not to want to explore and find all of the wonderful things that are there. Please: post the hours on line.

If you have some spare time before your Anacortes Ferry departure, consider a morning walk along their Main St, (Commercial Ave) and once you hit 6th St. follow the locals and that wonderful aroma of fresh brewed coffee, (and tip the local musician on your way inside). The book store/coffeehouse combo works well here. Walls of inventory and assortment await you in two separate rooms. I loved the old wood floor as it creaked while you moved around the sliding book ladder. There are some tables to eat and sip in the adjoining room. Wonderful light entering the building. I had the Americano, the Figgy Bars, a slice of the Citrus Olive Oil Cake. Grabbed a couple of Rosemary Sea Salt Rolls to go too! Hey! You don't find this assortment of such unique and fresh pastries often, so ya gotta go for it right?! You should too, it's worth your time, and a sit. Support local and grab a book "to go" as well.

Wonderful bookstore! Super happy place to go for a few hours, an afternoon, a lifetime. Pack an overnight bag. You'll want to stay. A seemingly endless selection of books, the shelves went on and on and on; floor to ceiling, room to room, a truly awe-inspiring experience. The books are arranged by genre, alphabetically by author, and then alphabetically (again) by book title. Very well organized, easy to find specific titles. There is a small cafe within the bookstore with refreshing beverages and snacks. You will need to keep your energy up as you explore this paradise for book lovers. Enjoy.

Great coffee shop and baked goods. Great place to browse books by Author and subject. I got lost in the shelves and sat for ahwile in a chair in the back after having an excellent vanilla cappuccino. Definitely worth the stop!

Who doesn’t love a bookstore with a cafe inside?! The pastries and coffee were to die for. SO GOOD. And I even bought a book! Stumbled upon this gem unexpectedly and it was a delightful surprise. This is a must go-to spot if your visiting.

If you love books and coffee, go no further! Such an amazing bookstore (majority used and amazing prices). Friendly and knowledge staff, I spent a good hour plus perusing and never felt pressured or rushed, but just the opposite. From the outside it doesn’t look like much. But whatever subject/topic you’re looking for, they probably have. I interior has an amazing wood finish that adds to the coziness. There is a coffee shop inside and places to sit, read, and work. Don’t miss out if you’re in Anacortes. 🤓

Pelican Bay Books combines a book store and coffee shop with a cozy, warm atmosphere. Take a stroll down the large bookshelves to explore their wide selection of books, many of which are gently used (bonus points for sustainability!). Grab a cup of coffee and settle down at one of their tables to peruse your latest read. The wood interior is warm and inviting, the staff is more so. They even have a kids area where our boys were able to explore some kids books - awesome!

This is a great location to shop for used books in the heart of Anacortes, and they have tons of genres to choose form. There's also a nice section of art for sale by local artists. There is a good amount of seating available and free wifi. The small café in the shop has some awesome cookies and pastries and highly recommend you buy some! Plenty of parking in the area and easy to walk to. Check it out!!

I love this place. My kids love this place. Yes, they're really only excited about getting a cookie and hot drink. They feel equally as smitten about the sticker selection. But once the pastries are eaten and stickers are sifted through, that's when we turn our attention to the thoughtfully curated bookshelves. I've really never had the chance to go farther than the kids nook, cafe counter and bathroom. The hallway to the restroom is lined with local artists work- I've had the pleasure of standing in this hallway many times while each of the children use the toilet they vehemently denied needing before arriving- and swoon over the charcoal figures before me. Lastly, the attention to detail; for the business cards are actually bookmarks placed neatly inside the book you have purchased. *Insert smiling emoji with a singular tear here*

Great used book store! Huge variety of books, plus a coffee shop inside (no indoor seating though). They also sell greeting cards for every occasion and stickers. Would highly recommend checking this place out.
