We were in the area to see a movie and needed someplace to have lunch beforehand. There are so many chains in the area and none of them sounded appetizing. Just as we were about to give in to some big box joint we drove past the ultimate strip mall and saw the menu for JJ Crab House in their window. The snow crab drew us in immediately.
The space is immaculately clean and there are a few tables that allow you to dine in. They also offer carry out but we chose to eat lunch there. We both ordered the crab and shrimp boil and I have a hard time describing just how delicious it was. If we had more time we'd have likely ordered a few more items. It's the kind of place where you should come and take your time working through a boil and some other menu items.
The staff (owners) are incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The service was top-notch and they were very helpful in giving us suggestions on how to best enjoy the dishes. Apart from the stellar seafood boil options they also offer a whole hibachi menu which sounded very tempting.
We left completely satisfied and we're already planning out next trip. If you're in the area, this is the place to be. Mouthwatering seafood boils in a friendly, clean establishment. Not much more you can ask for while dining out. Price point was very fair for the amount of food you receive. Can't wait to try all of the other items we missed out on yesterday...in the near future.
Found this place online as we are from the Jackson area and glad I read reviews first. To start off it is a very small restaurant, so to be on the safe side we made reservations online using Google. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, they even gave us an order of Cajun fried chicken for free since it was our first time there which was very nice! We ordered the seafood boil (in the bag) which had crawfish, crab legs, sausage, shrimp, potatoes and corn. For the quality, amount of food you get and the price you can’t beat it. We will be back!!!
We stopped by for a quick lunch and got fried shrimp for take out and couldn't resist going back for dinner. We had the shrimp and crab and were so happy with our meal. The customer service was excellent, and the people were so friendly. We are definitely returning the next time we're in the area!
Although this place doesn’t provide a fancy atmosphere, it is still a place you NEED to go to for Hibachi in the Ann Arbor area.
The server is very friendly and the food is very very very good.
The food is often served in a “To-Go” box but it still provides a good presentation for the food.
Ordered the “Hibachi chicken & Shrimp” and it was much much better than any franchise hibachi place I’ve been.
We ordered Cajun-style shrimps and snow crabs. They both taste good and are one of the best I have ever had! We also had 4-piece fried chicken (they are all big pieces and totally worth the money). Had to take the leftover home cuz the portion is so big! Highly recommend the place and we will definitely come back again.
This place was amazing. Stopped in, the waitress was super accommodating and eager to help us. She suggested shrimp and mussels to share and we got it with garlic butter sauce. It came out in a bag, mixed up with sausages, potatoes, and corn on the cob. The food was incredible. So delicious, fresh, we packed it up at the end and the leftovers were just as good. If you are looking for delicious, filling seafood at a place with friendly staff, you can't go wrong.
I have ordered their food multiple times. Great food, taste, and service. Their family meal package is a great deal to feed a family of four. The only part I think needs improvement is that food is a bit salty. I told them to make it less salty after a first try. It worked. They made it less salty and just right for me.
Absolutely delicious and so fast!!!! Wow. Our first time at this place as our usual crab boil place was closed. We will definitely be coming back here. Great prices and we were even able to take some home. 10/10!! AMAZING. Great food
