Eastern Flame is my go to spot in Ann Arbor for both pick up and late night food. The Khati rolls are always amazing and they offer a diverse array of offerings. The food is served quickly but clearly is made with care... it's really one of my fav places in A2. I definitely would recommend taking your friends here for lunch, late night or take out.
As new in Ann Arbor, I was looking for some ethnic food resturants. Eastern Flame provides a variety of different options as per a combination of Middle Eastern and North Indian cuisine. "Kathi Role" was an amazing stuff. Second time it was "Lamb Karahi". Though regardless of its mild composition it was too spicy for me. So may be I should have ordered extra mild. In any case It is a good joint and a must try.
The food is excellent. I would eat here everyday if I could afford it.
I believe the menu price is $3.75 for Kati rolls. However, recently they have been charging $4. That's fine. What isn't fine is that the $0.25 is considered tax.
$3.75 + tax = 3.75 * 1.06 = 3.975 = $3.98
Any honest business would return the 2 cents. But I suppose it doesn't matter if you are dining in and tipping.
I also feel that the Kati rolls have become smaller (I could be wrong), which is fine too. They are still very tasty!!
Shalimar has decreased their portions over the years. These restaurants should realize there is more competition now, considering a new store has opened recently (although that's also very expensive).
Wish there was a store with this food for a lower price, or just bigger portions!
This is one of my favorite snack spots in Ann Arbor, especially in the night hours as they remain open late. I've only had their chicken rolls, but they've kept me coming back for more. I suggest the Tandoori or Tikka Masala ones - messy, spicy, and tasty.
i am a big fan of BBQ and i was looking a nice and authentic place for BBQ. I really liked the "Lamp Chops" at eastern flame that was awesome. Next time i tried the "Chapli Kabob" that was the best kabob i have ever ate. Specially the mint sauce with the Chapli Kabob was so delicious. I recommend you to try the Chapli Kabob and Chicken Tikka Masala at easternflame. now i am a frequent customer of easternflame and this is my first choice for BBQ. Great Food and Great Place must try.....
