Great place. Comfort food for sure. Minestrone soup for starters with fresh baked bread to start. Prime rib so good it melts in your mouth. Drinks are great and don't clean your wallet. Love this place and try to get out every time I'm in from Arizona.

Seriously a fantastic spot! First off, everyone, from the bartender, host, waitress and Cooks, everyone treats you like family. It's normally busy on Friday nights but because of there short menu, it's fast to order and even faster to receive your food. As soon as you're finished ordering they bring you bread and soup. A couple of minutes later they bring you a salad. And as soon as you're done with your salad it seems like your meal that you ordered is already coming out. Because their menu is so small they have perfected everything that they make. No matter how many times I eat here it is always fantastic. There's not another place around like Max old house.

End cut prime rib my 3rd choice. I am not a real big red meat eater. Mac's is one of the only places I eat prime rib cooked perfect flavor perfect.
Don't Get much better than that!
SOUP AND BREAD THE BEST
This is a very good place to go, if you are on a budget, and like good, hearty, food! While the service staff are spread thin, and is not all that speedy (why I'm only giving 4 stars), the staff were courteous, and got all our orders correct....it is my opinion that the quality of the food, and for the price, it is well worth the trip. The restaurant has good spacing between the tables and chairs, an excellent full-service bar, and of course the Ambiance from such an old historic building, is worth just the price of admission (wonder around if you go there, and check the wall art, photos, deco, etc...). I have eaten here several times before and would recommend it for at least a first time, if not several return visits in the future. Enjoy.
I have never been to this place but my family has been going for a long time. It has been around a while and the food is really good. They don't have much on the menu but what they do have. They have really learned to do it well. I had the extra cute prime. It was delicious. The three courses is also a nice thing to offer as people wait for the main course. The minestrone soup and salad right after.
Also the bread is amazing with the butter. Could eat that by itself all day. I would recommend this place. Just it is First come, first serve and only does cash.
This place has been around for years, Great Atmosphere very basic menu, but the food is great best Prime rib in Antioch!! Drinks are cheap, but well made... one of my favorite spots for sure.

Good casual family style bar/restaurant. Good price and service. Probably the best price for prime rib in the bay area. Comes with soup, salad, pasta and veggies. Not fancy but good meal.
