there were dishes and rolls alike salmon skin, tomago, and miso the specials where good and tight, fishes, crabs, and Virgo's the menu is good the temp of your hood warm, hot, see what they got sushi the way it should.

Whenever I take my son up to Humboldt we stop by Tomo. Excellent rolls... we loved the Japanese cowboy and the hamachi sushi was very high grade and delicious. The service was good too, my only critique is that Arcata needs more Uber drivers to go to town for this wonderful sushi bar!

Can't go wrong, everything here is great! Probably my favorite restaurant in Humboldt and thus far my favorite Sushi restaurant - bar none.

My favorite sushi in town! The Strawberry Dream & Larrupin Station are second to none. My boyfriend and I went to what was supposed to be an "excellent sushi place" in Kauai (and they had the prices to show for it) but after a few bites we both said "it sure ain't no Tomo's. :)

Great atmosphere - casual and friendly. You don't have to know anything about sushi -- they make it easy. I frequented Tomo while I was a travel RN in Humboldt and I didn't even know I liked sushi before going to Tomo! You can dine at the (full) bar with a very cool and professional bartender named Nathan - order up one of his Nathan ' s Humboldt Hurricane for a real treat!

What a wonderful restaurant! I highly recommend the combination with sushi. I had the ling cod and larrapin station roll. Both were absolutely delicious! Also recommend the oyster shooters and sake colada.

My salmon teriyaki was well executed, rich in flavor. The restaurant decor and atmosphere wasn’t inviting and with flies hovering around, it didn’t feel clean. Men’s urinals which being to the hotel have no privacy at all. Overall the whole experience was underwhelming besides my dish.

Sam was excellent for our server. She is prompt and thorough. The tiger roll is bomb.

Nice and super attentive servers. Good food. The tofu teriyaki is a bit sweet, but the texture is very interesting, I've never had tofu made like that anywhere else. My dinner bento box comes with a spicy tofu roll which tastes amazing, and a salad which is supposed to have shrimps but they skipped it even though I didn't even ask. I guess they figured that out themselves because I ordered all vegetarian items. They sat us right next to the fish tank because I took a picture of it first thing when we walked in. I love it when people detect these subtleties. The bathroom is shared with a hotel, clean and well stocked, and it requires a code to enter.

Excellent restaurant! The pork Gyoza was light and delicious and had a wonderful sauce. The #1 specialty roll was phenomenal. The nigiri had maybe a little too much rice for my preference, but the fish was high quality. Overall I loved this place and our server, Braelyn, was so nice and helpful.

Always fresh and always so good! Have always loved any roll we've tried there, and the sunomono salad is the best we've had in the north state! Love trips to the coast and we always try to fit a meal in here while we're at it!

One of my favorite Japanese style restaurants of all time. Happy hour is priced perfect. Nigiri is THE best around.

Our server, Luis, was fantastic, but the place is clearly understaffed. The wait times to order and receive food were long. However, the the food was great and very well priced. For appetizers, we ordered fried scallops and rainbow poké. Both were good, poké was better. For rolls, we ordered #4, #7, and the special Coco cabana roll. All were good but the special rolls was by far the best. Worth noting, most rolls were cooked opposed to raw, might be a common for the area.

The place is quite loud when full. Make sure to make a reservation. The food was okay, not the best miso soup I ever had and not the best katsu chicken I ever had. I can't believe the price of things tho. My dinner was 26 bucks, not including tip not included in the pic the misu soup, and little shrimp appetizer.
