I have been on a big pork chop and eggs kick lately. David's kitchen did not disappoint. As a matter of fact it is one of my favorites. Is thinly sliced breaded pork chop with gravy on top it's like chicken fried steak to the next level. Eggs were cooked perfect hash browns were full of flavor. Service was outstanding. They were even open half a day on Thanksgiving. I will be back.
5 stars. Great place from the cook to the waitress .. super nice and friendly.. Very clean and the food was great.. Highly recommended... Will come back if I'm up here again..
Friendly folks and good food. The pancakes were great, as was the omelette and biscuit and gravy my dining companion had. The waitress was super sweet. They've lasted longer in that location (several years now) than just about any restaurant which was there prior to them. It's because they serve quality food and treat you right. We were there yesterday morning for breakfast. Oh, and the cook was friendly as well. He greeted us kindly with a nice smile when we walked in.
Oh my gosh this is so good! Home made cooking at it's finest. .. and the service was excellent. I had their homemade whole wheat toast with my shrimp and crab omelet YUM! My husband had their biscuit and yummy gravy with his omelet.
We will definitely return.
A nice place. Nothing fancy, and doesn't try to be. Obviously the haunt of a bunch of regulars, I think I was the only one waitress didn't greet with a personalized welcome.
Would NOT let me get more than three sips of my coffee before she was back to refill. This is a good thing.
Food was good. Gravy for biscuit and gravy was served in a bowl not already on the biscuit. Not had that happen anywhere else. I like it.

Nice place to have breakfast. The store was was clean and seemed to be well kept. Our waitress was friendly and real efficient. The meals were tasty.
Food and service is great! Totally skimpy on the onion rings though, like they were gold - but great stop to eat before Lake Santa Margarita prices fairly reasonable for the quality - hash browns could've been better, but my husband really picky about those.
David's kitchen is the only thing I miss about Atascadero. The food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable. David understands that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and he makes you look forward to eating it. Thank you David and your staff for making me and Ernesto feel so at home when we come in. We are gonna miss you guys when we move back to the East Coast next month. We wish nothing but the best for you and your family.

Live in Michigan and fround this diner on vacation, driving from LA to Monterey Bay. Service was good and food was amazing! Old style food cooked just right.

Excellent homestyle cooking packed with locals so you know it's good. Super busy while we ate here so service took a little dip in quality but acceptable I approve.

Sweet local diner if your wanting a traditional breakfast, ie: Pancakes, Waffles, omlettes and such. Our waitress Joan kept the coffee filled as well as the hot chocolate, with a smile too. God bless
