Food was delicious. Make a reservation in advance if you can to avoid the wait. It was my first time here and would visit again. Our waiter was friendly and checked up on us. Visited on a early Saturday afternoon. Check it out.
Super cute spot! Great food served fast with a smile. Priced really well for the quality. We did get harassed by a rather aggressive homeless person as soon as we left, but that's not really the Diner's fault. I did literally leave with thumbs up for the great experience!
Amazing place! Good prices, fun atmosphere, and phenomenal food. I would 100% recommend the southwestern eggs!

Visit #2
we stopped in again with our kids this time, and once again, it was excellent. good food and good service like this stand out. we are passing through Atlanta and waited to eat just to stop here. do yourselves a favor and try this place out.
decided to check this place out after reading other reviews. it did not disappoint. it looks like a typical old diner. a bit dated, but for me that's some of the appeal. the staff were all friendly. Our food came out super fast.
I ordered a heading skillet, my wife a tuna sandwich. both, a ton of food, and one of the better breakfasts I've had eating out in recent years. absolutely worth the visit.
Daughter and I were on vacation to Atlanta and stopped here. We both agreed best breakfast we have had in a long time!
Good basic food, fast friendly service, no wait on a Sunday at 11! Free parking!
Updating my review because they have entered the 21st century. The food has always been great. The service has always been amazing.
When we arrived we put our name in using the Yelp waitlist. It only took like 15 mins to get seated. We sat outside because it was nice.
Highly recommend Thumbs Up Diner. You can join the waitlist before you arrive and you can pay with a credit card now.

I’ve been to Thumps Up in West Midtown before but not since COVID. There was always a wait and this time there is no exception. They are limiting seating. It is every other table and they make you wait in the car. However, someone has to go find your car. Why not join the 21st century and get a system that will text you.
Our name was skipped after we had waited an hour for a table because he couldn’t find out car. Again, why not get a system that does it for you instead of someone finding your car.
Once seated, we ordered quickly since we knew what we wanted and the food came out pretty fast. It was all delicious. I highly recommend the catfish and grits.
If you are up for the wait make sure he knows where your car is parked or let them know to get a system that will do the work for them.
If you’re in town hands down visit this place for breakfast. Ask for the server by the name of TIP. He was great from beginning to end. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back when we visit Atlanta again!
Ordered the Ultimate Seafood Breakfast, French Toast and Low Country Skillet. shrimp and Grits were the most flavorful my friend and I have ever had. Low Country Skillet wasn't too tasty for me. The French toast was great!
Wanted to try everything off of Google Maps that looked tasty for the first time and this DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
We landed up here after trying to eat elsewhere. We were able to seat ourselves upon entry. We received great, prompt service from Jason. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! The atmosphere was very chill...a regular breakfast diner without all the dramatics! We ate, tipped and left! I think this is my new favorite breakfast spot near the home. I appreciate how quickly we were seated and serviced. The prices are reasonable and the menu had plenty of options for breakfast. Just an FYI - you have to pay for parking but honestly you may not need to pay for more than an hour. I really enjoyed the entire experience.
This place is a must when I’m in Atlanta! Food and service are stellar!
Yum! 📣Fabulous French Toast alert people!! Thick, Challa bread, dipped in egg and rolled in crispy grains for heavenly texture. Best whole grain biscuits we've ever tasted and, with their in-house jam (🍑 on Monday), delicious! Prices are reasonable. Lots of healthier, vegan and vegetarian options. Good, ☕️. Oh, and our server, Aaron (i think. sorry), awesome!!
The fish and grits are my go to. The grits were so damn good and the fish was fried to perfection. I came in, and I placed a to go order and a nice waitress, took my order and had my food out in no time. FYI, it was not busy at this time so service was very fast. Great customer service, and great food.

First time here everything was delicious and the staff was friendly. Kind of tight far as space but that is made up by how good the food, customer service and price. Will definitely be back..
Been here by many times over the years. They are now taking cards for a fee. The food quality; however, isn’t quite the same as it was in years past. A bit bland with the waffles and pancakes.
My partner had the shrimp and grits and loved them as well as the salmon eggs
Pecan pancakess were delicious! The breakfast heap had by my hubby was good. Shrimp n grits were okay, too many green peppers & tomatoes for our liking; the portion sizes were good, and flavor was good. Service was good. Coffee okay. Cute spot.
Probably the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. We had double dipped French toast (slapped!), eggs, bacon, and chicken and waffles (bruhhh!). Coffee was hot and on point. Ordered hot chocolate because I saw a cup go out to another table. Glad I did! Kevin was our server and was such a cool dude. Ask to be sat in his section. Place is A+. Kevin, if you are reading this, we coming back bro! Appreciate the hospitality!
Let me start off by saying this place is AWESOME!! We visited Thumb Up Diner while on Spring Break. We're from Cincinnati, Ohio. Our server Taurus was AMAZING! Recommended some of the best food I ever tasted. The French Toast was huge. One piece is definitely enough. And they offered turkey bacon! This is a huge plus for a person who eats no pork. Nice portions of food at affordable prices! You guys got the right name....this place DEFINITELY gets 2 THUMBS UP!! I recommended anyone visiting Atlanta eat here. The best breakfast I ever tasted while on vacation!!
