I am not the type to write reviews as I feel when paying for a meal it should be good & I expect great service, after all that the reason to go to a restaurant instead of cooking at home. I went to Cape Dutch Saturday night & I had one of the best dining experiences in my life. I have traveled all over the world Europe, South America, South African, Greece & 43 states so far & been to 5 Michelin Star restaurants. I consider myself to be a foodie & enjoy the dinning experience from the service to the food & its presentation & taste. I have to say I had a five star experience last night, which has only happened a few times in my life & only twice here in Atlanta. There are very famous chefs with very famous restaurants here in Atlanta and they could not even hold a candle next to the food quality and taste that we had last night. We ordered the Arugula salad with a goat cheese sorbet. This is one of the most creative & unusual salads I have ever eaten that was just amazing & delicious. The goat cheese sorbet melted on the salad as you ate it making it just a super fun eating experience, again delicious. We also ordered the Scallops which were cooked to perfection. Normally you have scallops that are over cooked I the outside or on the inside a little hard and chewy or man even under cooked and taste of rubbery. Not these, these were absolutely perfect not only in the way they looked but how they tasted with an amazing flavor combination of a quinoa mixture & cucumber strains made like a noodle as a garnishment, just delicious. I was excited now to see what was to come next.
Next was the Elk & Lamb Shank. The elk was amazing taste & texture that u set your knife down & cut as though it was butter, just the right temperature & flavoring. The lamb shank was so tender no knife was needed it literally just melted off the bone when you touched it and when you put it in your mouth. Just a fine pairing with fingerling potatoes & Brussels sprouts rounded it out.
We got the chocolate soup for desert & it was good too.
I would give this place five (5) stars & come back again with other friends. This place really has their act together from timing of food delivery, to the temperature & presentation it was not just a meal but a wonderful expire experience with an incredible energy in the atmosphere. The employees you could tell loved working there & they all worked like a well oiled machine. I would highly recommend this restaurant & will be back again.
I highly recommend this great restaurant. It's in an awesome location and definitely a hidden treasure. The chef is amazing the menu is outstanding and the wine list is impeccable. The staff gets rave reviews and the manager mr. Mitch flowers is amazing. If you're ever on Cheshire Bridge Road in Buckhead definitely pop in and stay for a while, you will not be disappointed.
Walking in we were greeted by Alex who custom mixed each person in our group their own special drink...and nailed it....not for just one of us but for all of us. While ushers to our table, we walked past the wood fired oven and take in one of the most delicious smoky smells I can only describe by the statement "you will want everything you order cooked in this oven" . Every piece of the meal, from the starters to the dessert, were amazing and served by a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a foodgasm.
