It’s basically a five-star bar. Big variety of drinks and great prices with great service. Plenty seating with unique bar Seating and leather couch seating. Really cool vibe and big place-stays open late. Better food than a typical bar but limited menu like a bar. I enjoyed myself. Popcorn was salty, sweet, spicy. Free parking. Muscles were the market fish which was kinda odd but it was delicious. Hot dog was good. Wish they had a bigger menu. Dark inside which is ok. I like it and recommend you stop by. $5-$6 beers
Love the nautical feel! Gorgeous lighting and a huge bar with a great bartender! The outside patio is covered and dog friendly! Fries are fantastic with the barbecue/curry ketchup! Killer tofu was so yummy! Great place for vegans and meat eaters alike!
Food is very good. The beer menu is nice with a lot of different choices and some really good beers if you like craft beer. Seems like a really good place to have dinner or just enjoy some good drinks and snack on something. Definitely coming back.
Allow me to set the mood! It’s Hoopz last night in Atlanta before moving back to Seattle. As such, I wanted something close to his area, good, and that I had never tied before. Naturally I end up on Yelp performing a search and Boom! I stumbled across Argosy.
Though I have been in this area numerous times, I have never noticed Argosy. However, tonight was the night… I was excited as the restaurant has its own private lot. Woo Hoo! Anyone who knows the area can’t attest that parking is not the best when it comes to available spaces.
Once parked, we headed inside. Argosy is humongous. I’m talking super big covered patio area in the front, when you walk through that space to get to the main area, the inside is HUGE as well. The setup has your organic local bar feel and is musically vibrant and upbeat.
Upon walking in we were seated within moments. The table setup makes good use of the space as you don’t feel crowded at all. We were a party of 2 and the tables next to us were a party of 10 and we both had ample space.
As I looked over the menu, this is the traditional bar food menu with the Argosy twist. This makes for a limited selection to choose from, however, there is at least one traditional favorite of each food element in the menu.
Our server arrived at the table within moments, welcomed us to the venue and took our drink orders. She was very pleasant and displayed a joyous smile.
After a few moments of burger vs. fries, I decided to get the Wings and Fries and babeeeeeeeeeee. These wings were amazing. The wings come in a sauce I have never had before, and now that I have had it, I want to continue having it. It’s like a Buffalo style sauce not too spicy, with an Argosy taste twist to them.
As far as the French fries… Hear me clearly. The art of a Homemade fry is not something everyone can execute well. However, Argosy has discovered the ART of fry making. The fries are crunchy on the outside, however, soft and fluffy on the inside. Furthermore, the fries are lightly salted which brings out the authentic taste of the potato. To make it even better, the fries aren’t too oily or overly greasy.
Though I loved my wings, the French fries stole the night!!
All in all, I will be back at Argosy soon as I MUST try the burger next.
My favorite restaurant in EAV!!! Food is sooooo good and they have a decently large beer menu. I love their steak frites with added chimichurri , but my husband always goes for the burger.
Their fries are really good and their pizzas are hand tossed right in front of you!
There's not much on the menu that looks good besides pizza. We ordered a pizza, but it was just okay, I had higher expectations especially especially for the pizza to be $24. So, it's definitely not worth the value. Atmosphere was cool. We sat outside which was a plus.
We partied at the Argosy for my best friends wedding reception. What a cool spot. The wings and the pizza were amazingly delicious! The spot in the back was perfect for the reception. It is a little dark in there, we used string lights on the trails of the stairs for added light. They let us come in earlier in the day to decorate before the wedding. Ask for Carlie at the bar, she has the best personality and was more than happy to serve us at the bar!
Well-manicured and cozy, Argosy makes you feel right at home with it's expansive list of craft beers, creative pizzas and juicy burgers.
The interior dining hall - complete with active hearth, exposed brick and a lively bar, lends a natural warmth to any meal. Service can sometimes be hit or miss, especially after a show from neighbors The EARL. Come Monday night for discounted burgers and beers.
Very Artsy. Great service. The food was good. If you're in the area, it is a great place to try.
Update: Tuesday night Steak Frites is a must get. My husband makes a great steak, so I rarely order one out. So glad I did. He got the mushrooms and demi with his and I got the blue cheese horseradish cream with mine. The Red Robin cocktail is to die for. Definitely make plans to come out and try the new items on the menu.
Lamb appetizer is delicious. Really cool environment. Place is huge! They have a private backroom for events. The gnocchi is fabulous and the octopus is divine. Items shift on and off the menu, so keep an eye out for them.
