I was in Atlanta on business for one week and ate at this place three times. The food is very good and authentic but the decor isn't anything special. They also didn't have central air, just portable AC units so it was a bit warm inside. My first two visits I went during dinner time. It was very quiet and the food came out really quickly. It was nice. And the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. I had pork chops with rice, shrimp spring rolls, and pho. Everything was delicious. I also went during lunch on my last visit. I was glad to see the restaurant was packed. The food didn't arrive as quickly but the wait wasn't very long, it was more along the lines of 10 to 15 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes during dinner. I ordered fried chicken wings and was quite disappointed. I would not recommend them, very bland. I also had noodles with chicken and a pork banh mi sandwich to go, both very tasty. Overall the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
My first impression was not good, as I waited about 30 minutes to even be acknowledged. I stood in a long line to get my party of 14 a table. I found out that there were only 3 servers and we needed to kill time anyways, so I was ok with it. Three of us shared an XL P15. It was the perfect size. The flavor was good and the soup hit the spot on the cold, rainy day. We also ordered Fresh Shrimp Summer Roll. I shared a Grilled Pork Ban Mi with my husband. Everything was good and the price was awesome. The servers forgot some items, but they was very nice. They also didn’t have (or couldn’t make) smoothies, which my daughter was craving, but we chose an alternate drink.
Good Vietnamese food
We ordered the grilled pork and egg/spring roll noodle salad and a Pho Tai (rare beef noodle soup). They were both delicious with fresh, fragrant herbs and flavours. I didn't like how they automatically included a gratuity when you paid your bill, but the service was fast and we thought that the prices were quite reasonable given the downtown location.
Pho 24 is close to the A-Loft where I stayed during a week in Atlanta. It gave me the opportunity to try two dinners. One vermicelli bowl and one Pho combination bowl. I also had the egg rolls.
I thought the vermicelli bowl was well balanced and both the shrimp and chicken were tasteful and cooked nicely. When brought to the table basically all the items are on top of the vermicelli. It looks good but if you eat it that way, top down, the meal is unbalanced. I recommend to mix it like a salad to better appreciate the meal.
The Pho bowl comes with a plate of bean sprouts, cilantro, limes and jalapeños. It has a good flavor and nice broth, but I found the meat if the vermicelli better than the Pho.
The egg roll and sauce were tasty and make a great side, but note only 2 come on an order.
The place seems large, dated and under utilized. If you have a large party, and maybe sometimes they do, this place can accommodate you. But it is a dated atmosphere.
Food was delicious. Great selection of Vietnamese cuisine from safe to adventurous choices (tripe). Seemed relatively clean, but very dated and decor was a bit strange and a man began performing constrution with power tools during our dinner. Staff was friendly and eager to serve, very attentive.
The waiter was very nice and funny. They don't serve alcohol here but they let me bring my own beer from next door. The broth was very good. The vegetables could have been a little more fresh. They didn't give us the typical chili paste, only sriracha and fish sauce. They had enough meat in the pho but could have used just a few more noodles. I think we will go back here.
Very authentic Vietnamese food and excellent as well. The restaurant is amazingly quite and the service is very nice. Dishes are very big and it's a great value for money.
Very delicious and moderately priced. Considering everything in downtown Atlanta is extra expensive, this was a nice find. They don't have a liquor license but the food was quick and yummy. Service was spot-on.
Great Vietnamese restaurant, the food was good and the ambience of the restaurant was great! It came highly recommended and we weren't disappointed. We will go back before we leave the area.
I have been to a lot of Pho restaurants lately and they were good, but what really makes good Pho is when you test it before adding hoison sauce and siriachi to test the flavor. This had tons of flavor and passed the test with flying colors. Pho 24 also does not short change on beef. I've been to too many Pho restaurants and it has been just a bowl of broth with sprouts and that's about it. This place gives you lots of meat. I highly recommend this place along with their amazing servers. I will be back again and on this same trip this weekend.
One thing to note is that gratuity is included in the bill.
Great food but service is slow, due to the place being severely understaffed. It's a new restaurant but without adequate staffing they will not be able to compete. Recently we skipped a group lunch at this place because we only had an hour for lunch before going to the next meeting. That by itself was a significant loss of revenue. I am looking forward to a time when i can walk in, get my food and check out in 40 minutes or less. Until then i will only come on days when i have no time constraints
2020 update: service is much faster and portions are still huge. One thing to pay attention to is your check and tips. Not sure if it's because I come in with a group but they automatically charged me a tip of their choosing and still printed a receipt that didn't show the tip and had a line for me to give tips. Most of my colleagues ended up tipping twice today. Not right! Also prices are not competitive at all
Really large portion of food if you get the x-large pho. I got the fatty brisket and tendon bowl and enjoyed it quite a lot. It came with a bunch of extra herbs and chilis to enhance the already flavorful broth.
I also tried the fresh shrimp spring rolls which were done well and had one of the better sauces I've had for it.
Pretty good pho. The x-large pho bowl is huge and pretty good, spring rolls were fresh and delicious, service was really good. Atmosphere kind of dated though
Unbelievably fast service. Literally had a water with lime within 60 seconds of walking in. Had a Thai Tea with decent boba pearls with 3 minutes. Had a humongous bowl of pho within 5 minutes (the large bowl is seriously large!). Also got an unsweet iced tea, which was tasty.
The food was amazing and authentic. The staff was tremendously friendly and had excellent customer service, even when I was the last one in the restaurant right before closing time. They offered recommendations and even asked if I needed a fork or other American tools.
The location is unassuming from the street view, but it is clean, spacious, well-kept and decorated inside. I'm surprised this place is so seemingly unknown. Prices are low, as with most pho places, but this place has that little "extra" that will keep me coming back when I visit Atlanta. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bring my Asian family here for a get-together.
Two very minor gripes: no "bun bo hue"! (my favorite Vietnamese spicy soup), and you have to walk through a somewhat odd front entrance before you get to the traditional front desk.
Oh, one more. Maybe it's just me, or the fact that I found this place as I passed by on the sidewalk, not on Maps originally, but I assumed Pho 24 meant open 24 hours. I'm glad I asked when they closed because they DO close at 10pm, at least on Fridays at the time of this writing (Nov2017).
I've been to about 15 pho places in the US and a few in Taiwan. This place is a gem among them. It's honestly wrestling to be my favorite pho restaurant. I highly recommend this place!
