Hands down best Mexican restaurant in Athens. Their mango margarita is the greatest flavor on the menu. If you want to try something new, just order the Molcajetazo (see description below): Big stone bowl. Bowl of salsa, grilled chicken, pork rib, Mexican sausage, grilled shrimp, nopal, jalapeno, onions, and fried cheese quesadilla. Served with rice, beans, and salad. (Handmade tortillas). Listen... this bowl is OUTSTANDING! It has such a great variety of different meats, veggies, and even fried quesadillas. What I love most is you can order the regular size bowl and it will feed two people and the food will stay warm while you eat. If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out!

The food was delicious. We got the mixed fajitas for two. It was the most steak and chicken I've ever gotten at a restaurant for fajitas. The margaritas were great tasting yet strong. They accidentally put tajin instead of salt around the rim but I think that made it even better and I've never had tajin. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely coming back.

We were here for the third time this past weekend, and it was outstanding! The food was superb! Service and atmosphere were amazing. You can tell that the owner and staff not only take pride in serving fantastic, authentic dishes, but they truly care about their customers. We can't wait to come back.

Authentic Mexican fare. Even the environment is authentic. Warm flavors with fresh ingredients. Flavorful but not overpowering spices. Nice balance. Lots of choices and sauces- green sauce, red sauce etc. The menu must be 20 pages long. All the positive indicators were there. A full restaurant, and a full parking lot. Many of the patrons were Hispanic which tells me that the food must be fairly authentic. This is not a fancy place, but comfortable and festive. It has that crowded, I've been here a while kind of feel to it. I loved the servers and the staff. They were bustling around full of energy and smiles. This is very convenient as well. It's just off the Chase Street exit. The bright colored building stands out. There's plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot slightly up the hill. If you want to look like you're a regular then use the middle door. If you want to look like a newbie, try the other doors! Good food in a nice comfortable environment. It's not fancy! But it's good!

Best Mexican food ever. I have not seen many of these authentic dishes that they serve in other Mexican restaurants. Every item on the menu that we ordered was delicious. Especially fried Fish in Diablo sauce.

My family enjoys every excuse to go to Tlaloc, and I hadn’t even realize my original review for them never posted. I’m posting pictures from a dine-in experience a month ago and a to-go experience this week. You’ll notice an abundance of chimichangas. Pork is my favorite, but the steak is also well done. I usually go with a shrimp dish, so I like the quesadilla, the cocktail, and the seafood fajitas, which also include squid and fish. Unlimited horchatas is certainly a way to my heart as well. My kids tend to eat the basic quesadilla and fries. There are so, so many things on the menu though that it can definitely be overwhelming. Go anyways. Look at pictures. Ask for recommendations. They are also almost always packed, but we have always been able to find parking, even at the far end of their side gravel lot. I recommend trying them out. Always a good time.

This place come highly recommended from the folks at the Holiday Inn. I knew when we walked in the door it was going to be a good meal. We ask our waitress to bring us the hottest hot sauce she could find. And boy did she ever. It’s a family run business and we really enjoyed our food and investing with our server.

Do not judge a book by its cover. Small local Mexican Restaurant. Food is outstanding. Had steak burrito which comes drenched in queso. Bursting with flavor. Staff is very friendly. You will be glad you visited. So wonderful it has opened for inside dining again.

A really great and authentic experience. For $10 each you can split an appetizer, have a couple of tacos each, and split a desert. Great value for what you pay. Best plantains in town without question... Recommended...

This is a tiny lil spot but the food was good! They had a very large menu with many options. The tacos were available to be ordered and prepared many different ways. My daughter ordered the steak tacos "American" style, which meant they came on flour tortillas. The tacos come with onion & cilantro but she opted for lettuce and cheese instead and they had no problem with the change. The salsa was good. The cheese dip was good. The chips were the on the thicker side but nice and crisp and salty. I ate my daughter's beans, they were meh but beans usually are, these were also a little on the thin side, but I'd still eat them again. I ordered avocado to eat with the salsa, cheese dip & chips. It was $3.49 which is kinda high, however, it was a large portion and it was perfectly ripe. I gave 4 stars on atmosphere because there was no music. The service wasn't the best but the server was still very nice, I just though she should've checked on our table more often. I had to ask another server for more chips. No biggie though! I would definitely come back here and try more of their menu.

Good Mexican food. You are served chips and salsa. Prices are reasonable. Everything was flavorful except for the Salvadorian curtido. The curtido was just bland and was not fresh. Will definitely come back.

The food is very good and authentic. I can't wait to go back. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more often. The skinny margarita was delicious.

Great low key place for delicious (non-tex) Mexican food. Highly recommend the gut (tripe) taco, and their house hot sauce (red) which has great flavor and heat. their steak fajitas for 2 could feed 3 or 4, and the margarita pitcher was also satisfying! Left with tons of leftovers which we enjoyed the next day.

The food will always keep me coming back. My special side and sauce requests are sometimes easy to forget, but the staff makes it right. Abuela runs the show and is the best part of the experience after the food
