Casual BBQ dining. Order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. Drinks and condiments are at self-serve stations. Seating includes extra-long picnic tables and smaller tables with a bench on one side, and chairs on the other. The food was very good. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The beans with burnt ends were excellent. My other diners at my table had the BBQ chicken, the Cuban, and the cheese-stuffed BBQ sausage. Everyone thought their entree was very good. One member of our group said the "creamed corn" tasted like Mexican street corn and it was excellent. I would consider changing the name because creamed corn doesn't do it justice. Prices were fair and portions were generous. Absolutely no complaints.
Wanted to try a new place for BBQ and Wood’s Chapel did not disappoint! I loved being bless by John Lewis when I walked in. Talk about feeling welcome! Love the atmosphere and decor. Food was delicious but I think my favorite was the greens. Super friendly staff! We are already planning our next trip. Highly recommended!
Really solid spot for BBQ/grilled meat. We played corn hole for a while and sipped some expertly crafted cocktails. I'd highly recommend Wood's Chapel BBQ for their outdoor seating on a beautiful day and for carnivores who love their grilled meat!
I particularly enjoy the barbecue here, and I don't like to eat raw food. I find it difficult to understand who likes to eat raw food. The roasted meat is so delicious and juicy.
I ordered the Thanksgiving meal. Pickup was easy. Heating everything was easy. The smoked Turkey breast was so moist and delicious. But not having to cook all day AND supporting a local business were the best parts!
The place was cool with a really sweet courtyard picnic area, I got the 2 meat sampler with chopped brisket and St Louis ribs. Brisket could have been more tender, but I'll tell you those ribs were GREAT. Side dishes were very good, BEET Cole Slaw, Cream corn, and Mac & Cheese were on point. The BBQ sauces were lacking they have to work on those sauces, in my opinion. I'm looking forward to returning
Overall this was a good visit. It’s very casual and has a fun twist on the menu. Similar to a cafeteria, you order at the counter and then clear your own plates. The potato salad was the best item we tried; it was creamy, tangy, & the perfect amount of potato. The rest of the food was ok. Not as good as I was hoping, but I would be back for a casual meal in the future. From what we heard, the cornbread and salmon are the best items on the menu - I’d recommend trying those, I wish I had!
Overall really enjoyed my meal. Loved the vibe of the location and it’s super huge inside so a great place to meet friends for a lunch or dinner date. The brisket was really the star of the show. I’ll come back just for the sandwich of that. I liked the greens and the pork and beans w/ burnt ends were different, tasted more like chili rather than sweet like baked beans. The smoked chicken was ok. My husband enjoyed his ribs. I did enjoy the boozy frozen drinks as well. I would be back
We just happened upon this place trying to find somewhere warm with a good atmosphere to visit with friends and I am SO glad we found it!!! Whoever is managing the playlist deserves a financial raise because OoOoOooo! Bartenders know what they're doing, even if they're brand new, & the food was phenomenal. My partner is still talking about his Brisket Grilled Cheese from last night and I fell in love with the Spicy Matador Cocktail.
Brisket was tasty/juicy. Collard greens and Mac & cheese were excellent. Banana pudding was done well too.
Ribs were dry and the sauce wasn’t very good.
Staff is awesome and friendly.
They have a great patio area to sit and eat your food. Not full service, you order in a line and they bring the food out to your table. Some people complained about the added 20% but I kind of expect in now. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, greens and baked beans. I loved the brisket sandwich, it had great, unique flavor. Also, loved the baked beans- different types of beans included with burnt ends in it! 😋 I will be trying to get back there soon. My friend ordered the smoked wings and thought they were pretty good. They have some alcoholic slushie drinks that are worth a try too!
Omg, I absolutely loved the brisket grilled cheese. The bread was so buttery yet crispy and the brisket was flavorful. I loved the outdoor seating option and free parking. You’ve also got multiple eateries in this area to enjoy so it’s perfectly placed!
I was able to go to this restaurant and try the food and it has become one of my favorite BBQ restaurants by far. The food is very fresh, very tasty, and portions are great too. I tried their chicken wings, pork, and brisket. They also have their own BBQ sauce and the all purpose sauce (MUST TRY). Their brisket had the perfect taste and was cooked to perfection. Their pulled pork had just the perfect amount of spices and was not too dry. Some BBQ restaurants do a poor job and not allowing the pulled pork to dry and this one does a fantastic job. I also tried their fried rice which was not what I expected at a BBQ restaurant but holy cow, it was absolutely deliciious. My wife had the cream corn and it was also perfect! This place by far is a must try.
Super excited Wood’s is now open! Tons of seating available both indoor and out.
The food was all amazing. Loved the brisket and smoked turkey. The cornbread was delicious! Also highly recommend the creamed corn and the pork beans & burnt ends. The potato salad was good but then only food item we weren’t raving about.
Next time hoping for some pies and smoked salmon!
I really love Wood's Chapel, and I might be in the minority, but I'd go here over Fox Brother's any day. Prices are fair, the food is consistently good, great portion sizes, and a beautiful space. One of my fav bbq spots in Atl.
