The service was prompt, one on one, friendly, easy to communicate orders and conversate with the staff. Warm welcoming environment, food was excellent, well seasoned, and very fulfilling southern food. I would definitely dine again and refer others.

Sunday Southern hospitality!!! As the outside breeze blows thru the campus diner window, enjoy the aroma of home fried chicKEN!!! Have it YOUR way: chicKEN and Waffle or soul food w/ chicKEN!!! Staff eagerly waiting to serve!!! And the ambience is being in the rich history of HBCU!!!! Dont forget the shrimp and grits folk 😋 and the ICE TEA 😋

It was a wonderful and great experience for my first time to attend the national Pan Hellenic Counsel meeting at Murrell cafe. The food as always and forever will be outstanding. The fellowship, scholarship, and uplifting amongst the divine 9 was great. I have learned a lot. Great location and good food will go a long way. A shout out to my Frat brother and the Murrell family. RQQ🐶🐶🐶🐶🐕....Jaysen Berkley 5 -16 KAA

I went here first and foremost for the historical value and secondly for the food. So, my expectations were tempered in that order. Staff is light but I think they may get busy on the weekend for brunch, because they have a huge main seating area and a cozy sized secondary are too. I tried a little of everything the day I came. The fried chicken is good along with the fried fish (whiting). I tried mashed potatoes & gravy (delicious gravy), mac n' cheese were cheesy, collard greens had a very nice taste and were seasoned well, yams (were cooked perfectly), rice was hard (either undercooked or dried out from heat lamp), the pork backbones are divine (even before hot sauce was added)

Absolute wonderful experience. Food was great. Service was awesome. For the longest I've searched for a good soul food spot that I can really enjoy on the West side of Atlanta. I'm glad my friends told me about this place. I just wish i worked closer in town because I'd be eating here for lunch several times out of the week.

Great service and a truly hidden gym. Fresh fried chicken and fish was unlimited as well as rice and gravy, mac and cheese, collard greens and corn bread. There were a few more food choices but that's just what I had. If only the line of people waiting for a seat at another soul food restaurant right up the street knew about this. Maybe they wouldn't have tired out their legs and bore the brunt of the weather as I got an immediate seat and had a delicious meal.

Amazing food. Stumbled across this place on accident...friendly welcoming staff & tasteful southern cuisine. Will def make this a staple stop in my visits to ATL. No complaints. Also, Yolanda was so warm & welcoming towards us from the minute we walked in. Love love loved it here.

What a pleasure it was to stumble across this hidden gem. Yolanda made this a great experience. Southern Hospitality at its finest. I ordered a waffle and omelette before seeing the cooked food. The baked chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Collard greens that I once hated were awesome! The candied yams were point blank delicious. ..... There is more to offer, so visit for yourself! Oh! btw the set up inside will completely shock you.

Wonderful place to eat. I am from MS so it is difficult to find some soul food that's better but this is amazing. The food is superb. It is in a hideaway area bit please don't judge the book by its cover. I was stuffed to the max. Please try.

Excellent food. You will eat way too much if you go toward the end of brunch and stay to eat dinner offerings from the buffet. That`s the best bargain at $26.95. Fresh hot fried fish and chicken delivered to your table is great. Service can be a little slow.

Soul Food and real Southern hospitality. Honestly, the service was old school "GREAT". For 14 dollars, it was a gem and worthy of a good cause. (It is located on a Interdenominational Campus) Speaking of campus, it was a bit challenging to navigate too, but Google Maps will get you there. So what do you have to lose? Go check it out....its a nice experience off the beaten path. Get your soul and your soul food here. Your friendly atheist.

We held my mother's 80th birthday celebration there on Sunday, October 18, 2015. I must say, your facility made it such a joyous and memorable event. The setting and staff was excellent and reasonably priced. The food was superb. I will be back and I will refer all of my friends and family to your establishment. Mr. Murrell and his staff was great. He even supported my mothers theme for her party by wearing his purple shirt.

Murrell's Cafe was truly home for me. I am a vegan and I was not lost/without food or without what I needed to enjoy my moment here. This place is seriously Georgia's best kept secret so far, but that's about to change now that I know where they are.

The food was so rich and so good. It took me 3 days to eat. Portions were large. Staff very friendly. Not fancy but good food from a good cook I rate them top.
