I’ve been on the hunt for some great vegan pizza and I found it at Bakaris. I ordered the Ultra Vegan Deluxe Pizza with added bananas peppers and it was nothing short of amazing! I devoured the whole thing before leaving the parking lot. Also, PLEASE ask for MO! She was very sweet and helpful as soon as we walked in.
Ordered a half veggie pizza to go. It was made fresh! Took about 15 mins. It was really flavorful! I’d go back and try other pizza options.
The BEST vegan pizza I’ve ever had! The cheese is delicious not fake tasting and even the vegan pepperoni tasted like pepperoni! Very delicious!
Pizza was good definitely one of the better plant based pizzas in the city. Kale salad was amazing. They treat the kale so well. There aren’t a lot of ingredients on the salad but it was delicious. I would go back. Had a Drink and it was meh. They just did a quick pour but no special energy put into the drink.
Service and Vibe were excellent. Will definitely be back for that.
I'm a New Yorker though, so I am a Pizza bigot. Crust was too thin and crispy for me. Burgers and fries are good though.
Bakaris is a staple to the West End and a leader in Plant Based Foods. The pizza has this incredibly soft and tasty dough that is unlike any other pizza I have had vegan or otherwise. I went on a Tuesday for their special Taco Tuesday and those vegan tacos are some of the BEST TACOS I HAVE HAD!!!! Plus its more affordable then most vegan spots. The owner is super down to earth and is a serious uplifter of the community helping small businesses.

Me and my girl came while celebrating our anniversary and as soon as we walked in the vibes felt like home. It was karaoke night and my girlfriend loves karaoke. It felt like being around family. Then the pizza was so good. We are vegans and it is hard finding a good vegan pizza. Whenever we are in the area we are definitely coming back 10/10 experience.
Delicious!! I’ve only ordered delivery but the food is always on time and piping hot! We typically order the Hawaiian and/or the ultra vegan deluxe, both are great! Ohhhh I almost forgot to mention THE CRUST!!!!!! I have never had anything like it. The texture of the crust lies somewhere between a traditional thin crust and filo dough. It’s thin and crisp but when you bite into it, you can feel multiple layers to the dough that are somewhat moist and a little chewy. It’s so so good!! I’m glad I live on the west side of town because vegan pizzas in midtown have nothing on Bakaris!
We’ve also had their chocolate peanut butter tart, brownies, kale salad and kale wrap. All are unique and quite delicious.
It’s also worth mentioning that I’m the vegan in the relationship. My bf is almost vegetarian and he loves Bakaris too— he definitely doesn’t feel like he’s sacrificing anything by ordering Bakaris!!
I’ll add photos the next time we order ☺️
The food is great typically, especially the Kale salad. A great variety of non-pork options can always be appreciated at a pizza place. The service can be quite slow and not always the friendliest. The value is okay but the taste, when prepared freshly and correct to order is great!
If you follow the Universe and reconcile with the truth, then you will probably come to the conclusion you need to go to Karaoke on Tuesday and specifically to order the meatless vegan tacos that come in shrimp, kale, and some other flavor but they were too good. The chef came out and spoke to us while we ate and normally I'm pretty laid back and its not my speed to go to social places. But if you are really looking for some inexpensive but classy fun where the crowd is very respectful and energetic then this is probably where you want to come. They are modest and nice people so don't miss this place just because it ain't in your face. Park across the street at the mall and walk across for the easiest time but there was parking on the backside too. Anyhow sorry I don't have photos but line yourself up for Tuesday night if you want to be around some genuinely good folks. Crowd was young to mature, and dress code was casual nice. A bit of a line though because they have a special chef for the vegan tacos so its only on that Tuesday night that they serve them. Im going to plan to go next week just cause it was a nice corner seat there and the music was cool. @juhneing
