Mary Hoopa's House Of Fried Chicken & Oysters - Atlanta - Photo album

Had a great experience dining at Mary Hoopa's, the decor is modern and the layout open and spacious. Oysters were fresh and delicious, with many choices. Had 2 whole fried chickens, one house and one hot. Hot was spicy but not dripping, very tasty with a nice kick. House was crunchy and juicy, perfe
This place had a great atmosphere--laid back with contemporary, rustic decor. Our server gave us great service; everyone was very friendly and personable. The food was exceptional! The fried chicken was tender and juicy, with crispy breading. We tried the sweet and spicy flavors and really enjoyed t
This place is a gem. The food is wonderful. In addition to the fried chicken, the fried shrimp and fish are excellent. The small plates and sides offer something for everyone, and the salads and vegetable dishes are great if you're looking for a light dinner. The service is friendly and casual. The
Stopped in for Happy Hour $1 oysters. They were great as usual. The only negative from our visit was feeling the "hard sell" to stay and order dinner. My issue is not with their food quality but with how expensive the regular dishes are. That's why we don't stay for dinner.
So very confused as to how this restaurant does not have 5 stars? I had great service which seems to be the main complaint? I had the happy hour oysters 1 dollar each mon-sat??? And happy hour beer. The hot fried chicken rivaled Richards which is the best in Atlanta. The collards and corn bread were
Great food. I mean, really good. Apps, entrees, and dessert. Good drink prices, especially great drink prices during happy hour (now from 5-7 weekdays). I highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.
This restaurant has a great, comfortable environment to eat and have a good cocktail here. This service was top notch and the fried chicken was totally worth it. Definitely a restaurant to check out in Atlanta.
Simple menu of oysters, fried chicken and some interesting takes on southern side dishes served in industrial-modern decor. We ordered a half chicken with two sides and it was plenty of food. Get your chicken HOT, but be prepared to get messy. If that's not your thing try the chicken sandwich, whic
This place is going to do well - really well. Just had dinner there for their soft opening. Great aesthetics - trendy feel, but still very welcoming. Staff were exceptional - friendly and helpful without being obnoxious. Again, it was the first night and, given that, things were going very well - t
I had one Clam Wrap, a fried Chicken Sandwich, and Cornbread! Oh me oh my to the infinite OooooWeees! Everything exceeded the expectations of my taste buds! The chicken sandwich was something beyond succulent. The flavor and the juices just sent my eyes rolling up in my head. Never tasted Cornbread
UPDATE: 3rd times a charm! Visited again last night and the service has improved greatly. We were seated quickly, given waters and menus right away and the food was great. Big improvement from the previous times I have visited. Nice! I want to like this place so much but the service level just isn’
Went with a large group and it was a bit hectic. Food was delish. Very few complaints. Most felt that the grilled oysters needs more time cooking. The fried chicken and the polenta side was EXCELLENT! The green beans garnered rave reviews as did the fried oysters. Out of 40 people only one thing wa
Sides are great - excellent collards and wedge salad. Oysters were fresh from St. James River in Virginia - and less expensive than other Decatur joints - fabulous mignonette and cocktail sauce. Fried chicken - spicy - had just enough heat - only thing lacking due to not having their liquor license
