A restaurant with a real Chef! Every thing was outstanding! Very reasonably priced for the quality of food. Nice wine selection. Will definitely go back the next time I’m in town.
There was nothing wrong with this place exactly when we went on Sunday night for dinner. The food was good, service was excellent, but something was just off about this place. There was only 1 other family dining in the whole restaurant for dinner with us. Now I know we eat the @early bird special" sine we have an almost 3 year old dining with us (I know you parents can relate). As much as it was nice to not have to worry about our son annoying or bothering other people, it was just not cool to have an empty dining room. Period. It reminded me of a want to be restaurant for some reason or a place Robert Irvine would go to to fix. So why a 4 then? Well service was on point & food was ok, nothing that blew me away, but it wasn't bad or anything. Just goes to show you that an empty restaurant is a turn off. Atmosphere matters, and that's why I won't be going out of my way to dine here again, I'm sad to say. PS the kid coloring pack with stickers & crayons gets an A+! And my son crushed his mac n cheese served on a cute mini iron skillet!
The food was very good, if a bit pricey, and the service was fine. Our group of 4 used a free entree coupon but they took off a $12 appetizer rather than a $20 entree. This was not right. I asked the hostess about this as we wanted to be discreet and not bring it up with our waitress with our dinner guests there. The hostess said they take off the lowest price item. Really?? When did an appetizer become an 'entree'? Too many other choices in the area than to be jammed on a coupon. Oh well....
Great Time Great Food. What a great time. The quality of the food was equally matched by the quality of service. This was our 3rd time at this restaurant and every time we leave we talk about when we will be coming back. This is a restaurant who understands that without customers they would not be in business. I believe this because their customer service skills exceeded our expectations every-time we were there(x3). All the servers are great but Mark is our favorite. You never have to ask twice for anything especially if you have a special request due to the aim to please concept. I never asked but if you ask for peeled grapes, they'll probably do it for you!!!!!
We ordered and shared 6 appetizers as our meal. The entrees/food are awesome too however I often leave my willpower home when it comes to their delicious appetizers cooked to perfection. It's hard to order just one!!!
We normally order fish and seafood items on the menu as we hardly ever order beef products due to we are spoiled as we often eat meat at steak houses only that serve USDA prime and or wagyu quality meat. As far as the fish and seafood go, TOP SHELF, FRESH AND DELICIOUS EVERY TIME.
Bon Apetit Everyone!
We'll be back!. Yesterday I was spoiled and it ended with the most amazing Bistro. http://nb-bistro.com/menu if you ever are here in Jacksonville for ANY reason, try it and ask for Mark, our amazing waiter I tried to take him home!!!
We happened to luck out and got MARK as our waiter, we've read about him in a few of the reviews and they are right, he's absolutely PERFECT!! Very knowledgeable, helpful and there when you needed something. I had the best filet mignon, my husbands Kobe Burger screamed for me to take a bite but the bread & garlic hummus , cannelloni bean soup and risotto croquette did me in. This was an amazing Birthday meal and I got a B'day Chocolate Crisp treat at the end - courtesy of Mark. I mentioned he's amazing, right?
Thank you Paul and Mark for a wonderful evening.
Great Food, Service and Atmosphere. Our meal at North Beach Bistro was great all around. I loved the spacious dining area which was also very relaxing and soothing. We began our meal with bread and instead of butter the Bistro served a white bean spread with olive oil. It was a nice change and the spread was flavorful. Then we had the risotto croquettes and they were delicious! The croquettes were breaded and crunchy on the outside and had warm, soft cheese and risotto inside. We then moved on to the entrees. We had the Black Angus ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and the steak was cooked to order and the potatoes were a mild garlic flavor and creamy. The pasta of the day was rigatoni with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes and olives in a very tasty, thin sauce almost like a vinaigrette. The pasta was cooked perfectly and all the ingredients tasted fresh. For dessert we had the chocolate topped coconut cheesecake and from top to bottom it was superb. The cheesecake was light and had the right texture and the graham cracker crust was moist. Our server, Mark, did a great job and he took very good care of us throughout our meal. We really enjoyed our dining experience.
Romantic Dinning Atmosphere. This was the first time I visited North Beach Bistro and based on previous reviews we were not disappointed.
Finally a nice quiet atmosphere to share a fine dinning experience with your date or mate.
The food was was so flavorful, we had Chicken Saltimbocca that was served with delicious mashed potatoes, accompanied with fresh thinly sliced vegetables. We were also served french bread with humus/oil oil. The portions were large and in fact so I could taste that famous bread pudding I opted to bring some of my meal home. By the way I was so pleased I decided on the peach bread pudding, OMG , so yummy served with French vanilla ice cream.
I found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful when choosing our selections and I would surely go there during the week to try one of there daily specials.
Good meal. Went to North Beach For Fathers day. We were the only customers when we got there. Open table had them full. We got our reservation by phone. Someone at the restaurant needs to check this out. Food was great. Service was great. Try the Bouillabaisse. Very good! We had a party of nine. All left happy.
Ups and Downs. We were excited to try North Beach Bistro after hearing some good things, and the meal started off wonderfully! As it wore on and we ordered other items, the results were pretty hit or miss. We decided to do a few appetizers, split a salad and split an entree. The appetizers were all great (tuna martini, chipotle dusted scallops, risotto croquettes), except for one off of the nightly specials, which was the worst ceviche I've ever had! The salad was mediocre. The osso bucco was good, but not great. We're definitely planning on giving it another chance though since a lot of the food was great, the ambience was lovely and the service was very good.
North Beach Bistro really delivers. From the perfectly executed dishes to attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and patient staff, they exceeded my expectations. It's not cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Worth every delicious penny.
Fantastic food and service. We've been vacationing in Atlantic Beach and happened upon The North Street Bistro. We're from NY and the food here would stand up to the most discriminating diners in Manhattan; and the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Mark, took care of us from the moment we were seated, making recommendations and giving the impression that he truly enjoyed his job and the food he was serving. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Atlantic Beach area.
Pleasant surprise. Good fresh innovative menu. A little pricey. Service was exceptional.
One of our favorites. This place has a great atmosphere and is one of our favorites spots. Lobster is fantastic, so is the calamari, the ahi tuna, and the sliders. I love this place!
We had a pleasant dinner on Saturday evening. Service was attentive. We started with a few apps in the middle of the table. The Calamari was tender with a nice tomato based dipping sauce. Shrimp and polenta was spot on as was the Tuna martini with nori. Pear and arugula salad was poor. Too sweet with the dressing. It just went nowhere. The Grouper main dish was well done the fish was cooked to perfection with nice moist flavor and not over powered with the reduction. I would go back.
Exceeded Expectations. While returning from a cruise to the islands we stopped in Atlantic Beach for dinner. I had read some reviews on the Bistro and wanted to try it. A good omen was on the way in we asked another couple who were about to enter what they thought of it and they loved it. Happy hour was going on so we had a drink at the bar before dinner. Since it was two for one the bartender said to tell the waitress that they owed my a drink. Our server was Heather and her knowledge of both the menu and the area was invaluable.Service was attentive but never intrusive. The salad, main course and dessert were all a cut above the usual. Heather said they cut their own fries and made their own mayo and catsup. I wondered if they had their own kiln and were firing the china as well. I shall make this a destination whenever in Jacksonville.
Can't wait to go back. We had great service all around. They honored all the requests we had when we made a reservation. We ate PEI mussels(great!), Caesar salad (good), signature house salad (great!), flat iron steak (very good), and osso buco (GREAT!). Our drinks were Hot and Dirty martini (great) and Pomegranate martini(good). Only thing I wish was different was that Happy Hour is extended to those seated at the tables, instead of just at the bar.
Appetizer of corquettes was simple and delicious. Soup of the day was great. Kobe burger was an amazing presentation and juicy. Even the kids meal had homemade fries AND ketchup. Simple menu but well done. Only let down was our bread pudding dessert, no flavor and bland. Will go back again.
Soooo delishhhhh. My husband and I, while on vacation, ate at North Beach Bistro. We hate going to eat on vacation blindly cuz you never know what you'll get, we were so happy with this choice. We shared the mussels appatizer which were tender and yummy, my husband(had we been at home)wouldve picked up the remaining broth and drank it. For dinner My husband had the chefs special grouper and I had mahi mahi. Both were outstanding in presentation and yummy in my tumminess! Next year we will for sure be back! The only downside was the dining room was closed for a private party so we had to sit in the lounge(it was a quiet monday night). Even still we would rate it 4 out of 5 stars, a definite must!
Used our teal deals there last night and the food was AMAZING! My wife had the whole snapper and I had the swordfish and we were both blowm away at how good the food was. I give this place my highest recommendaton.
Lovely decor, friendly and professional service, varied menu and specials. Well worth return trips.
Great service, mediocre food. Great beer! The mussel appetizer wasn't very good, and the fries that came with my entree were oddly undercooked but limp and cold as if they had been sitting around for awhile. I might go back, but would hesitate to recommend it. I rate it a 'like' only because the waiter was very attentive and the beer was great.
Bar Only on Mondays, But Great Otherwise. Their website doesn't mention it, but only the bar section is open on Mondays. They still serve the full menu, though, so it wasn't a problem for us. Service was friendly and fast, and the food was great. Try the cheese puffs, hard to describe but delicious.
Excellent food, good pricing, great specials.. A welcome addition to the meager Jacksonville/Beaches restaurant scene. The decor is top notch, and only adds to the meal.
I can't say I've had a single thing there that wasn't great, the tuna martini is amazing. Other small plates and apps are also delicious. I do miss some of the food items from when they first opened (bring back my pancetta croquets!) but still one of the best restaurants in the area (even better if you compare their prices). Call ahead and check on the bar specials, they vary each day of the week.
The brunch is crazy good also, 4 courses, unlimited mimosas, all for under 25 bucks? Who can resist?
One thing to note about the North Beach Bistro is its immense size. There's a bar area, a main dining room, and the gallery where we were seated.
We recently visited North Beach Bistro on Atlantic Boulevard and while we can't say we were blown away, NBB has a few very delicious food choices that may keep diners coming back.
Seafood Kitchen is about as good as it gets for Seafood! Monday's is Military & Veterans Discount Day! Best discount anyone has, 30% off! Their food is offered cooked several ways, blackened, baked, fried and some items even boiled!
Servers are fast & go out of their way to assist in order to make your dining a great experience!
Few things in this shopping plaza to eat was fish company cantina Louie and whiskey jax all 3 were delicious and would recommend them
East end has the best outdoor seating not on the beach. Great spot, good parking, but a little funky to get back onto Atlantic, if I'm honest.
Cocktail 🍸 was great, the oysters were small but good. Friendly staff, fast seating and clean
