Most medium sized towns in the US (and, weirdly, Germany) have an Irish pub. I really can't say why that is, but it's always nice to go into a bar and essentially know what's on tap and what the food options are. John Sullivan's is a perfect example. There will be people who feel it's the same as every other Irish pub, some sort of formulaic archetype, but I'm grateful for it. Within this oeuvre John Sullivan's is excellent. This is a perfect place to compose oneself after a contentious visit to the VA, and I think if I lived in or near Augusta I'd be a regular. If you like Irish pubs this is a grand place, and if you don't you should come by anyway and give it a chance.

Great food, not too crowded (at least when we visited), and family friendly. The live music was awesome!

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The waitress was courteous and prompt on a busy night. I've also been there for there food alone and it was very good. The live music was just right for the night. Shout out to John Hasnip!

Unique feel for this cozy Irish pub in downtown Augusta. Great fries and poutine. Good selection of whiskeys and beers on tap. Depending on the time, the wait can be a bit long to get a table and/or food. Good service!

Food was phenomenal and drinks were equally fantastic. You really get a taste of Ireland in this place, from the Irish Folk Singers to the Irish themed food and drink. Right down to the decor you can tell they care.

Give the Blarney Balls a try - they’re yummy!! Cornish Pasty and Shepherds were both tasty and filling. Service was top notch. Will be back for sure!
