My coworkers and I dropped in for a family dinner. There were about 20 of us. The place was busy but it was very spacious. Plenty of room no not knock elbows with people. We stood in line to put in our order. Some food got mixed up but that's okay. They ended up giving us some extra food. It's BBQ style with some Mexican cuisine. House special that night was fideo but it was gone by the time we got there. It must have been good. I ended up picking the sliced brisket sandwich with charro beans. They have cups for water and cups for soda. Different colors to indicate which you paid for. The bar is where someone could get alcoholic drinks. We ate our food, hangout for a little while to let it settle and then left. The 2 young men bringing out our food were very kind and gracious. Our orders were confusing because there were 20 of us who ordered so many different things. The staff did a good job accommodating us. I was very impressed. Great experience.
This is a brand new build, building and area are beautiful. I'm not from Austin . Valentine's was a recommendation for breakfast tacos
Everything was homemade from the tortilla to the slice of brisket. I ordered "The Real Deal Holyfield." it was a little pricey, especially if you're from the Houston area, where we pay $1.99 for a breakfast taco. But let me tell you, I'd pay it again it was that good. Try it and let me know what you think, I'll be waiting for your feedback.
🌮Valentina’s BBQ 🍖
I went here for breakfast tacos as I have heard this is a move.
I was quite let down by this experience. I love a good breakfast taco but these were a bit outrageous.
The first thing was the price was bonkers. I think one of our tacos was $14? I have never seen it be so much. I know that brisket is expensive but woah. The taco the real Holyfield was very very good but for $14 it’ll be hard to come back.
The other two tacos we had , ultimate bean and cheese , and the potato egg and cheese were low key trash.
I think I messed up by getting breakfast tacos here.
I might comeback and do queso with lunch bbq meats!
The bar is full service which means you can order your meal there and skip the long line. The wait in line was about one hour but it’s indoors so you can avoid the heat. They bring the food to your table which adds another 15-20 min. I suggest an appetizer to eat while you wait. Now the food is amazing. The brisket is tender and flavorful. The tortillas are better than getting plain bread.
Made it to the new location in downtown Buda located at the Buda Mill & Grain Co area. Really fun hip area. Restaurant is big and airy with a full bar. We were there the first Monday they’ve been open and unfortunately it’s a limited menu on Mondays: tacos, sandwiches, nachos. I had a chopped beef sandwich which was rich and tasty, nothing special, I was hoping for more from one of the 50 Best BBQ places.
Although Black's get all the praise, Valentina's is amazing. Their brisket is soft, tender and smokey and their fajita steak is butter soft. The addition of the fresh tortillas and pickled onion create a flavor layer that's undeniably Texas. Thank you.
It was recommended by a friend so we went out of our way to pay a visit. I was a little disappointed, it felt like the place lost its charm and lost its roots to the food truck they started from, as the story goes. It felt very industrial and sterile. Brisket taco was good, chicken taco was average and we liked fresh guacamole. Two separate points of sale for food and drinks seems to be a thing in Texas and it's a bit annoying. I wish it was a bit more authentic Tex-Mex experience.
No posted prices on their menu? Did not like this. Service to pay was slow and again they use a system that asks for a tip at the register.
The inside is really large and I really like that the booths are set up secluded with a wall on both sides so you feel off to yourselves.
They also have a pretty extensive bar on the right side. Non-alcoholic drinks are self serve next to the bar. They use plastic utensils and ceramic plates with napkins on a roll at each table.
I got the beef rib sandwich special. It came with red onions and white onions with a lime wedge on the side. The sandwich had an egg on it, a tomato slice and of course, rib meat. I removed the buns to keep calories and carbs down. It was $22.50 and the slaw was $4. I got water so total was $26.50 before tax.
My sandwich was very good, but I love beef ribs anyway. The coleslaw was also good but had a sweet taste to it.
Be aware that I did not see anything outside indicating the name or that there was even a restaurant inside.
Overall I think this place has potential and would like to try a bar b q plate on my next visit.
Look the Knead God network has tried over 30+ taco locations in Texas and Valentinas is legit!
We were so impressed with the food at Valentinas that we gave it a 10 out of 10. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Tex Mex meal, BBQ, and Tacos.
If you're on the hunt for mouthwatering barbecue that'll have your taste buds dancing, look no further. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in a smoky, flavorful feast that left me craving more.!
Wow! The tacos were amazing! Didn’t expect to have such huge tacos!
The pulled pork tacos was out of this world. The chicken taco was exceptional too! The brisket is good, perhaps a bit dry, but well flavoured. Still one of the better briskets I tried.
If you are around the area definitely hit this spot up. Definitely worth the trip!
They open quite early at 7:30 am so perfect for breakfast too!
Super recommended!
Great atmosphere and drinks at the bar. The service at the bar was excellent. We waited for over 20 minutes for one brisket taco and the order fell through the cracks then when we checked on it was made on the spot and not even warm. It will was a slow night but will try again!
