I say this about almost all Rudy’s barbecue joints, if you’re looking for consistently, good barbecue, Rudy’s is always a great choice. In Austin it’s hard to say what the best barbecue is because they’re so many great joints to choose from, but Rudy’s has been around for a very long time as well, and even with multiple locations, the consistency has stayed the same. Whether or not it’s barbecue breakfast tacos or anything in between. You can’t go wrong with Rudy’s
I'm new when it comes to Texas BBQ, so I was excited to try Rudy's. You order at a counter, where the service is fast and efficient. There's a good number of tables, with an additional patio area. To the side, there's a station where you get utensils and any fixings like pickles and onions. Each table also has two of their signature BBQ sauces, which were great.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side of coleslaw, and the flavor of the pork was delicious. It was juicy and paired well with the sandwich bun.
I would definitely come back and try out more of the menu.
Was in town and came across this spot. It might look different than a regular restaurant but don't let it fool you. The food was great and the price wasn't bad for bbq. Got the brisket, sausage, chicken, ribs & pull pork, potatoe salad and beans. Paid around $110 and fed 4 us with leftovers. If you in town and want some great bbq check them out.
Food is really great. I ordered a their signature jalapeño sausage sandwich with pulled pork. It is really good. Perfect amount of moisture and but is really fresh. Friendly environment and service.
Typical Texan BBQ, which is already that good!
The beef moisture is half hard half tender, I can understand that the part close to the fire will be like that.
And the cream corn is so good!
Btw the cashier boy input our pork ribs as beef price, which cost us $10 more, you should be careful next time.
Omg the unsweetened tea is really good here, but I wish they had bigger cups. And their breakfast tacos are good too. I recommend the brisket tacos.
This Monday, I had lunch at the Rudy's on South Capital of Texas Highway in West Lake Hills, Texas.
The lunch room and patio was quite full at noon; although, there was no wait to order food.
I got the smoked turkey, moist brisket and St. Louis pork ribs, all of which are delicious.
Rudy's offers plenty of barbecue sauce and condiments for free, including pickles, onions and jalepenos.
Always consistent, if not a little expensive. Oh yeah, and you are eating in a gas station :-)
Gas station brisket! I love most of their meat options, but my faves are brisket, half bird, and link in that order
Decent BBQ. Had a 2 meat sandwich and it was definitely filling. The pickled jalapeños were delicious.
Giving this place 5 stars for best service, Caidden! My first experience at Rudy's delightful and even more so for its delicious BBQ (brisket, baby back ribs, pork ribs, the spicy stew, creamed corn...rice Krispies treats) YUM.
This place was definitely an experience! As the first time are they give you a rundown of how it works and how to order, and let you sample of U of D off bone meats. Everything was incredibly delicious. I'm salivating thinking about the moist prime rib. The turkey is great, even enjoyed the banana pudding. I can't wait to go back to Austin for this place alone!
Sliced brisket was very good.
The two different kinds of barbecue sauce tasted identical.
Do not order the rice crispy treat, it’s not worth it.
Potato salad was very good. Sandwich potato salad rice crispy treat door Dash plus tip over $27.
Visiting from out of town - came here for lunch - delicious! Tell them it is your first time there, and they will give you samples of their meats and sides and walk you through how the menu works.
The brisket and pulled pork were amazing!
The portions were large and filling.
The place was busy, but they get the orders filled really quickly as well.
Will definitely be back!

Great service. Great food. Reasonable prices. I love how they put your food in those crates, you carry it over and you just put wax paper down as a plate and go at it.
Best BBQ, baked beans and creamed corn in town. Great customer service and the newly added baked potatoes are incredible.
