The BBQ here is really great - my most recent visit I had the one meat plate with brisket. The brisket had great flavor! The mac and cheese was also fantastic - so nice and cheesy! I have been to countless concerts over the years at this venue as well. The most recent show I saw was Eric Nam. The sound system and stage set up is great. There is plenty of room to stand to watch concerts. If you want a really good spot you like, opt for early entry when purchasing your tickets.
A must visit if you are into BBQ. This place is an Austin landmark and had a deep history of BBQ and of live music. I have been many times and it never disappoints. Got the two meat plate with sliced brisket and smoked turkey. For sides got coleslaw and beans. The meats were cooked perfectly and the BBQ sauce complimented the flavors nicely. The beans were spicy just the way I like them. The coleslaw was very nice also. Service was excellent. Inside the place was rustic and clean. Very much enjoyed eating here!
We actually came to Stubb's for the Alt-J concert and even though I have been here before, I did not know there was a restaurant upstairs. We ordered the $11 three item side platter. It was really good. We chose the fried okra, the fries and the cole slaw. The fries and the okra were hot and crispy. The coleslaw was more vinegar based and was not swimming in mayonnaise; this was a plus and was good enough for me. On the concert side the sound was really good. The security staff were unnecessarily unpleasant and threatening when I was just walking to the VIP section up the walkway.
Great service, quick in n out, and the food is great! Ribs are a little on the harder side but still pretty tender. Brisket is very smoky but the texture is not as juicy if you’re comparing it to Franklin.
overall very pleasant and it’s a place you can eat and hangout while check out live music.
Homey, southern bbq place that sets the mood very well. They did a very good job with the setting planning. For starter, i ordered the spicy pollitos, which are bacon wrapped chicken nuggets basically. I'm not a fan of bacon but the bacon complemented the chicken very well and was delicious. I also ordered the combo platter with beef brisket, pork spare ribs, and pulled pork. The ribs disappointed because I had higher expectations from a Texas bbq place but the pulled pork and brisket were tender and delicious, brisket being the most tender. Also Mac and cheese and beans sides with corn bread. Mac and cheese was good while the beans and corn bread were ok. Corn bread was a bit dry and tasteless. Server kept coming over to ask if everything was good and if needed anything. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Came here for the Sunday gospel brunch and was not disappointed. Good atmosphere and good selection of all you can eat brunch foods. Make your own bloody Mary bar was a cool again addition although they were expensive.
Goes without saying- an Austin staple music venue where you can ALSO eat barbecue?!? Iconic. Great food, medium/small venue with great views, concerts here are always a blast.
This was a great experience! I went during lunch and later to a show. What a cool and fun spot. Music was amazing and the atmosphere was truly spectacular.
I tried Texas brisket and it was awesome 🤩. My friends got burgers and they told me burgers were fantastic. Not much waiting time, get a decent food here!
It was my first visit here. The ribs were fantastic! The chicken was delicious! The potato salad had great flavor! Had the chopped beef and sausage for dinner during the show, and both were wonderful. The cornbread and jalapeño sauce are a must try too! The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is that the sliced brisket was a little dry, and the barbecue sauce was heavy on the vinegar... That being said... I'll definitely come back! Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
Another successful day of learning at TASSP Conference in Austin, Texas, and well I didn't want to drive the huge SUV I had, and BBQ was close to me so the front desk clerk sent me to Stubbs across the street from the hotel that I was staying at for the week. The restaurant is located on the corner and you can park on the side streets yet if it's busy, I see this as a problem for anyone. As you enter, you can see its a beautiful BBQ bar motif very western. The restaurant has 2 floors and you can find the restrooms on the 1st floor. My server Dafne was very nice and helpful. Well when I saw all you can eat, insert Homer Simpson voice and drule "all you can eat..," THAT was the order. They offer you different cuts but you choose 4 out 7 meats and 3 sides. Those 4 are the all you can eat only not all 7. The food arrived quick but make time to see the stage and other sets ups on the 1st floor. The brisket was dry, no bueno, and hard disappointed with that. The sausage was awesome with jalapeños. You can taste the rub on the ribs and chicken was good. The okra rocked fresh to the table and fries needed salt. The quality was good and my inner Homer Simpson kept drooling while waiting for a crane to pick up my fat body from the chair. The price was $39.95 plus a good tip for my server. I would visit again yet not get brisket I would get the chop.
