Superb find! Food is delicious, plenty of it! We tried the 4 meat platter and it was perfection. You must try this place if you visit Austin! Best meal we had in Texas!
Been here before and definitely will come back again. Brisket: good, Wings:good, corn: good, peach cobbler: good. Friendly staff, pet friendly patio, near Zilker... whats not to like?

I love this place and so does my kids and husband. It's our go to Friday night spot and everyone there is the best. Never had a bad experience or bad food and that is very hard to come by. The atmophere there is so warming and chill. Thanks for being awesome guys!

Best...best..best cheesy steak tacos!! Ribs were excellent too....but taco are the bomb!
Great food, friendly staff, super service. These folks know barbeque and any place with the stars of Hogans Heroes up on the wall gets two thumbs up!
The food was perfect ,,,try the wings ,indescribable just when you think that's as good as it gets the staff steps up their game and treats you like gold ,I will return to this sometime overlooked gem soon

Fun atmosphere. Saw this place on Diners Drive-Ins & Dives, so wanted to try it. Very good! Food was awesome.

We really enjoyed ourselves and Tiffany was awesome to us.
We came in looking to eat and they definitely did not disappoint here! Ambiance is classic - certainly fit how I thought a real traditional no nonsense BBQ joint should look. Definitely get yourself some brisket, and don’t miss out on the hush puppies either! The Ribs too - oh man, have the ribs!

Awesome little bbq spot near downtown. Very nice staff, Tiffany was a great sever and attentive. We got the 4 meat plate with okra and jambalaya and also a plate of wings. I’d say my favorite part was the wings, we get them dry and crispy with sauce on side so skin doesn’t get soggy. Great taste and sauce was unique. On the meat plate, I liked the ribs best, tender but not fall of the bone. Great flavor though. I was very happy with my entire meal. Looks like they have a good daily special every day too. The pie looks amazing and they say it’s from Texas Pie Company in Kyle. I’d definitely recommend this place. Come out and support your local restaurants.
Fantastic service. The pulled pork sandwich was very good. The smoked wings were out of this world delicious. Words can't describe how good the smoked wings are. The sausage was possibly the best I have ever had. I can't recommend Green Mesquite BBQ enough.
This was a great find after a day at Barton Springs Pool. They were voted Austin's best smoked wings, and I can see why. They were so good. We also had their baked potatoes, one with pulled pork the other with chopped beef. Okra was nice and hot with a lot of crunch.
We were traveling with my adult daughter, who was in a wheelchair. It was a little tight, but we fit. She had no issues in the restroom. This place is definitely wheelchair accessible.
This is a must go to spot in Austin. It's low-key, with no long lines.
Our only complaint is that the beer wasn't iced cold
This place has been around for a long time. Been a while since I've been there though. Was really a pleasant surprise. The brisket was hot, most, tender, and just the right amount of "black" to provide outstanding flavor. Pleasant staff and great atmosphere. Green Mesquite earned all 20 stars. Decent price too!
This place is one of my favorite BBQ spots. Pretty straightforward ‘Que with none of the hoopla. My go to is the brisket and sausage sandwich to go when I’m on the run. The jambalaya was tasty and the macaroni somewhat underwhelming. Over satisfied with the cost and quality of this barbecue. Also, the staff has always been very nice and accommodating every time I’ve been visited here.
Service food atmosphere. Everything was delicious. The place was clean. The staff is friendly. Can't go wrong coming here.

I have been eating here for over 30 years (lifeguard at Barton Springs in HS) and have always left with a smile. No need to wait in line with tourists selfie takers to enjoy BBQ done right. Parking can be a challenge at times, but I usually find something nearby. The service is great and it still reminds me of what Austin was......
Had some tasty bbq here last week. The sausage was juicy, the ribs were fair and the fried okra was perfect. Service was a tad slow but it didn’t ruin the experience. If you’re looking for cheaper barbecue in the area and a nostalgic dated vibe Green is worth a try.
Good BBQ from and old Austin establishment. Staff was courteous and friendly. Food came out quickly. Brisket was delicious and so were the sides. Pecan pie for dessert was a nice treat to end the meal. The place has character inside and out.

Chicken and brisket were good, pulled pork on a sandwich is great. The potato salad was like a purée, pretty odd consistency. The grilled chicken salad was really good and that chicken was nicely crisped.
If you’re using the bathroom, it has the thinnest toilet paper imaginable. Otherwise they’re single-person bathrooms which is nice.
We happened upon this little hole in the wall BBQ diner near Barton Springs and are very glad we did! The brisket and ribs were moist and tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. Plus, the peach cobbler was the best I have ever had!
So so so so good. Love sitting at their patio. Waitress was so nice and attentive to our needs. We were allowed to bring our dog through the side fence area and have her sit with us. Chopped beef sandwich and onion rings are my go-to.
First Seems like someone (completion maybe?) is stacking bad reviews here on Google… there is no way that those are accurate descriptions of this down home establishment. Unfortunately that is the nature of online…. That said, Green Mesquite BBQ of Austin has Excellent fresh BBQ. Everything looked tasted like it was made that day. Great selections and decent prices.
Friendly staff, clean and organized. The brisket was ok I ordered moist but it was still a little dry, but the bun was so dry it broke into pieces and disintegrated before I even took two bites. Fried okra was good.
