Stopped in for a cup of coffee and to start my work day. The atmosphere was my favorite part. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast sandwich and pecan cold brew. Zero complains. Keep up the good work. I'll see you soon.

Really fun atmosphere and even better coffee! Honey lavender latte is a must. Baristas were playing good music, and it wasn’t too crowded and cramped (like most coffee shops) on a weekday morning.

I love that I can walk right in and tell the barista I need something to survive my work day, and they always deliver. Today it was Elizabeth that saved me from the Monday blues, with the most beautiful and tasty creation! Now I’m ready to get the work load done. Thanks Kick Butt!

First time visit in person around 1pm. Plenty of space to sit and had the Balboa wrap which I have had before. Taste was very good and croutons were very crunchy and it seems they come from focaccia bread which I love. The only disappointment was their pricing on their printed menu was not updated. Printed menu was $10.99 and was charged $13.99. Was told that their price keeps changing and could not afford to reprint menu. Guys, there is simple solutions like whiteout or labels that can be used to update the pricing...

Had the dankest everything breakfast bagel sandwich + cream cheese + avocado. Chef chatted with me to check if it was good and that he added some extra spice to it (can’t remember what tho) Absolutely perfect. Latte was pretty sweet but it’s bc they have the pour tops not the pump tops like other places (just fyi) This place is my go to comfort breakfast place. They’re consistent, absolutely sweeties, and I love the vibe. Check out their night events too!

I went to Kick Butt Coffee during the Altercation Comedy Fest. I had an absolute blast! The food, the staff, the owner, and the bar itself are all amazing! The comedy festival and the music were incredible! I will be returning.

This place is the essence of what Austin represents, chill, laid back, cozy, and quirky. They have a good selection of basic cafe food items as well as some awesome breakfast tacos including sausage from Meyers in Elgin. They have an amazing variety of different mocha drinks. They have live music and local artists that play here. they had a lovely couple playing Christmas tunes when I went. I love the atmosphere and the quirkiness of the decorations and the menu items. The only drawback I had was my breakfast taco wasn’t that fresh when I ate it. But other than that it was fine. Overall I love this place and will be back soon.

It's a nice coffee place that would appeal to a lot of people with certain tastes. It is setup more like a bar with live music and the lighting and decor inside is quite special and hippy. I liked the taste of coffee there, it was amazing. The menu items and the timings were unclear though so we ended up getting coffee and cookies during lunch time on a Saturday. Nice location and the vice is cool, I'm not so sure I would go back but I'll suggest you visit once for sure. You would know if it suits your taste and if you want to come back to visit again.

We asked for the secret menu and they said they had cinnamon chai latte so we decided to try that. It was so good! She was helpful and friendly. The place is really nice looking. I got a breakfast taco and it was pretty good also. We will come back to check out the open mic night. Overall great experience.

Great coffee shop! Plus one of the workers came out and noticed me alone (I was waiting on a friend) and offered me to come inside and wait. I appreciate that she was looking out for me. If I could give it 10 stars I would ❤️

Update: I've had a few sandwiches from here and they are good. The toasted focaccica stays cripsy and the flavor is always there. I asked for chips and salsa but i guess they were out so they subbed with a small salad that i just added to the sandwich. I will keep trying different sandwiches. Old review: Not bad would definitely try again. Sandwich is decent size bread was crispy chicken was good

Super fun spot for coffee and food during the day. Bathroom is hilarious. Good place for punk shows at night.

Great cafe with quiet mornings and festive evenings. Their coffee is just strong enough and a little acidic. I met the owner and his sister (hi Thomas and Joy) and they were very friendly. I appreciate the seating space and the abundance of soft seats. I will come back for their breakfast tacos and monstrous cookies!

Stopped in to this local joint because I don’t support Starbucks or any chain coffee shops. Was intrigued with the theme. Was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere when I walked in. Kenzie and Thomas greeted us and welcomed us into this unique coffee spot. Had the Space Force cold brew and a mix of cafe de olla and the dark roast. Absolutely loved the cold brew and hot drip was delicious and smooth. No sugar needed. This place has a stage and bar, with shows on various evenings (music/comedy). Bar is open all day, and serves breakfast and lunch as well. Awesome service and “Kick Butt” atmosphere and vibe. Come out and support your local businesses. I highly recommend this joint.

I LOOOVE Kick Butt Coffee! The food & coffee drinks are fantastic, the owner & staff are happy & friendly (Thomas Gohring is a fellow cat person!) & the ambience is old, weird Austin, something I find comforting, since I pine for the way things were when I arrived here in the 70's. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Spend some time in Austin, and you'll eventually want to grab a coffee, or a bite here. Loaded with personality and a certain flair for everything Chuck Norris, the Kick Butt Cafe has a lot going for it. Take, for example, the comedy open mic night, the music shows, and the selection of foods that cater to many food allergies and food preferences. We asked for a splash of coconut milk, and the barista had a pretty heavy pour, but other than that, the coffee seemed pretty good. Tip: They have gluten-free vegan chocolate donuts, but if you're not into soy, I'd avoid it..

Coffee was excellent and pretzel was good. Had actually wanted to try the food as well, but only 1 person was working at the time I went, so wasn't able to. Will have to go back to try food.

Perfect meeting spot. I always grab a coffee and a snack when I’m in the area. My favorites are a cheddar biscuit egg sandwich and a cold brew coffee, Friendly staff.

Such a great place to hang out with friends. Or you can go alone and enjoy some local music. Coffee is quick and delicious.
