So incredibly glad I finally got to try this joint. Great, funky atmosphere, friendly service, and the most incredible Chinese food! The mala fried chicken might actually be the best fried chicken I've ever had. Same goes for the BBQ pork spareribs that were on special. If you're lucky enough to see them on the menu, don't miss your chance!

I love that they bring everything to you as it is ready. It was a bit weird that we received our appetizers last, but I would much rather have fresh food than food in a specific order. If they could refine the timing, it would be even better. Everything was seasoned appropriately and the portions are not bad. It's not cheap, but we also had some leftovers. The punch I got was well-balanced, but my friend wasn't a huge fan of her panda punch. I would have to try more drinks to comment on the cocktails at length, but they seem decent to good. I'll be back, I only wish they had a larger menu.

The food here is amazing and they have a plethora of vegan options. I was very pleasantly surprised with how tasty the food was given the seemingly unorthodox fusion. I would recommend it for meat eaters and plant based people alike. The drink selection was a bit limited but what we had was very good.

Very cool neighborhood restaurant. Each night I go seems to bring a different vibe. There’s been times where it’s loud and crowded and everyone is having a great time. On slow nights it can be quite romantic and intimate. The food is spectacular. Recommended by me.

“Magnificent!!” That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of Old Thousand. Great food, great staff, and great menu items to choose from. The cuisine has such a stellar taste that I wouldn’t eaten much more if I wasn’t so full! 😍🙌🏽 10/5 stars!

Pretty dang spicy to us but we pushed through. The chili wontons were my favorite but definitely the hottest part of our meal. My son got the Mala fried chicken (sans chili sauce) and my husband got the brisket fried rice. It was all delicious and filling. It is served family style and you are given your own plate so you can try a bit of everything. Our server was attentive, friendly and thorough. We liked the chill, kind of dark atmosphere. Probably the only negative, and it was small, was that it was pretty warm inside of the restaurant. Mixed with the spice and room temperature, my husband was sweating pretty good haha. The parking is a bit tricky but if you just trust Google maps it will take you right where you need to go. They do validate parking so don't pay for your parking up front if you park in the paid area between the buildings. We will go back to take our other son who LOVES spicy food. We didn't order tofu, but if that's what you're into, there were a couple options. We appreciated the streamlined and limited menu.

From the outside we were expecting a classic Chinese restaurant but inside you discover a hipster hideaway, cool decor, creative cocktails and a great modern menu. Got totally carried away and ordered most of the menu and nothing disappointed. The Brussels stood out though!

We stumbled upon this place and it was SO good. We were pleasantly surprised. We checked out their brunch and we loved the chicken and waffles, the diner plate- the egg was cooked perfectly, the potato was nice and crispy. The chili oil is so good. The brisket fried rice was yummy too. And omg the pandan donut is a must! Definitely check this place out!

Excellent food and service 👍🏼 We had the Brisket Fried Rice, Mala Fried Chicken, Chinese Green, TSO Chicken, and Chinese Donut Holes. Even though they seem to be an American owner and have American cooks but the food is SO Chinese man. Everything smells so good. The fried rice seems to be fried using a bit of fat which causes the authentic sense of smell. The fried chicken was beyond expectation, super crispy but the inside is soft. They put the sauce and chilli oil on the side for us cuz we don’t eat spicy but dipping it in doesn’t taste spicy at all. The chilli oil gives the dish such a good smell. The Chinese Green looks American but tastes Chinese too 😂 I also love their donut holes, it’s like cake donut covered in cinnamon, and sugar powder (?). The green sauce has a taste of matcha and custard. Best donut holes I’ve ever had 🤤 The atmosphere feels cozy and the bathroom is very clean. Our server was very chill and provided great customer service.

I placed an order for delivery. The food arrived hot and in well packaged boxes. The food was tasteful with a slightly spicy taste afterward. This is the first time I've ever had brisket in my fried rice. Definitely different but worth a try!
