Very good food, large portions and the service was great. My wife enjoyed the Thai tea. Not the best Thai food I have had but In all a great experience. We will be back.
This restaurant was on my list to visit, and I was craving some really great fish cakes. I ordered a glass of wine, lettuce wraps, and fish cakes. The fish cakes were really good, dipped in sweet sauce. They weren't greasy, and not tiny in size. The restaurant interior itself was just OK, nothing too exciting or visually appealing. I would strictly go for the food.
S-F3 Pad Sea-Ew w/ chicken flat noodles. This is one of my two favorite Thia restaurant s here in Austin. This food is pure deliciousness to your taste buds, good flavor happy tummy. Seriously people I have found only one other place that makes my taste buds explode in Austin and this is that place. Flavors are well thought out here and spiced just right. As a chef I'm happy this place is here.

This place NEVER disappoints! We just discovered the tofu satay, and this appetizer was so divine that will make it a habit to order it every time we are there. We've had most of the dishes on the menu & they are all equally delish. LOVE this place!
Sap has such amazing Thai food. Every time in am in Austin, I try to make it to his restaurant.

Thai BBQ Chicken OH YES. Ordered the Gai Yang Som Tum. It is on the special menu and pretty pricey. The Som Tum could be a little better. I felt it was missing something in the base and was not spicy enough. (not enough Thai chilies and/or fish sauce) But on to the star of the show. The Thai BBQ was amazing. I closed my eyes and could smell the food stalls in Bangkok. The flavor was spot on. The chicken just fell off the bone with its wonderful Thai spices and flavor. It was really spicy but not in a hot manner. They provided me with a few Thai chilies I added and that made this dish perfect. Also tasted Pad Prik Khing with chicken and it was also wonderful. Really nice red curry sauce with a good spicy kick, fresh crunchy green beans. Will certainly give the Som Tum another chance if just to get more that chicken.
Love it Every Time. This is my go-to restaurant that never disappoints. All the standard Thai dishes are incredible, but the Guay Teaw Tom Yum Moo with Peanut (aka NS-14) may provide more robust flavor per spoonful than anything else I have ever eaten. Not for the faint-hearted, the heat evens out after a few bites and everything after that is sublime. It's a pork-based noodle soup (I have them leave out the off-putting fish balls, which they are happy to do) that defies description. I'm a happy to-go customer quite often as well. Don't miss it.
Yum green bean.. The title pretty much says it all. I like a lot of things on the menu, but yum green bean ( I think it's on the specials page) is what I usually get. I think it may even be better than it used to be. The beans are al dente, and the coconut garnish helps cool the heat of the dish. The hard boiled egg slices add a great dab of texture contrast and protein. Yum !
Very good thai cuisine that was went to on a whim. I entered practically starving and I left in a food coma. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my friend ordered the green curry. The wait was a little long, but I'm not sure if that was because I was so hungry or because the wait was actually long. Her green curry, according to her, was savory and very well done. My pad Thai, on the other hand, was slightly soggy and the noodles were weighed heavy by the oils. It was still very very good, but it didn't match the quality of my friends green curry. I left satisfied though and that's all one can ask for.
A minor flap at the end consisted of the wait staff treating the bringing of a to go box as if it were brain surgery. multiple waitresses were asked multiple times and it took upwards of 15 minutes to get the to go box.
with all that being said, I would definitely give this place another visit.
Great food here! the panang curry is full of perfect coconut flavor, good pad Thai. The f3 with chicken never disappoints. They also had this tilapia dish that was really good and a huge portion.
Great Food and Fun Pink Building. I like this place, they have a large menu with many items to choose from.
Love it - Very good Thai food. Madam Mam's is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin and definitely my favorite Thai restaurant in town. The menu is extensive and no dish that I've had so far has been less than good. I've probably ate here about 50 times in the past few years. Some of my favorite dishes are P24 (PAD PRIK PAO) with pork, P31 (AMAZING GREEN BEANS) with ground meat, P46 (NUER OB), and F11 (GUAY TEAW KUA GAI) with chicken. Don't order P31 if you can't handle a lot of spicy! My only complaint is the level of hotness is inconsistent from day to day on a given dish.
Nice thai food.. This is a nice place to get some spice thai food. They have good lunch and dinner menus. I like the jungle curry which is crazy hot. Other stir fry items are good too. I also, always, get the thai ice tea to get my sugar fix for the day.
Love love love.... I can't leave Austin without getting Madam Mams. From my curry chicken to the Thai tea, it's delish! Funky cool atmosphere. Great place to meet your friends for great food.
Always Tasty. Fairl prices too. I enjoy almost every dish but can't say I appreciate asian beef. Chicken and tofu keep me coming back again and again.
Its so hard to find good Asian food in Austin-- madam mam's is a win! Everything was seasoned perfectly. They have an amazing selection of soups-most made to order. The restaurant is so cute inside too!
Win for S. Austin!. I was so happy when this location opened in S. Austin! It was great because I lived just a mile or so away at the time. But I've since moved to the opposite side of town and now there's not a close Madam Mam's location anymore. They did just open one on Anderson though...
This S. Austin location is excellent...great food just like the original! My favorite Thai restaurant in town!
Very good.. You could pick any item from the menu at random and when you try it you'll say "jesus christ that's delicious". The outside of the building is off-putting in its tackiness but the interior is awesome.
I especially recommend the Satay (beef) appetizer and Pad Thai w/ chicken. These two thing are one of my favorite things to eat hands down.
What no peanuts?. How can you have Masman curry or Pad Thai without peanuts? This is a horrible idea.
Fantastic!! Best Thai food I've had in over 3 years. YUM and BYOB.
Best Thai food in Austin. Phad Thai is great.
Very, very good Thai Food. When the nice lady who teaches Thai cooking classes at Central Market raves about this place, you know it delivers.
Madam Mam's is not a fancy eatery, but the food is excellent. Be advised, though: When they say spicy, they ain't kiddin'. The spicy catfish (Pud Cha) dish will absolutely clean your clock!
BYOB. You know, the creaminess of coconut milk in recipes, just do it for me. I have eaten at the campus location, decent noodle soup, good price. However, I had never been for dinner. Once the pepto-bismol building opened, I thought about going, but never got around to it. Thank goodness for friends with great ideas. We planned an evening out with 4 friends. My friends mentioned to me that you can bring in your vino or beers. What a deal, since I don't like paying the mark up on wine or the tips at other restaurants. We stopped in at Texas Liquor which is conveniently located next door, and I picked up a couple of bottles. We got in at 7pm, and were sat quickly. They we were, 6 of us, with 6 bottles of wine sitting on the table, with silly smiles on our faces..going to be a good night. The waitstaff graciously came by and took the bottles and opened them for us, and provided glasses. The wine glasses were plastic, which I really didn't care for, but the wine was still good, and the smells on the restaurant were fab. The menu was friggin huge! I highly recommend viewing the menu on-line before going, because you could be there forever trying to figure out what to order. Luckily, our friends had been there several times, and pointed out some items they enjoyed. I ordered a Salmon Dish, which was served in a small bowl with a nice compliment of rice. I cannot remember the exact name of the dish, but it was one of the only salmon dishes they serve. The meal arrived quickly after ordering. Everybody tasted everyone's dishes, and there wasn't a poor one in the lot. All the entrees were served steaming hot. My dish had the perfect blend of creamy, aromatic spices and taste. A little side note here, I like spice, and I asked for then to kick it up abit, man they took that seriously, so caution if you are not a big hot spice fan. Next time I will just go with the regular spice. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and was devoured in a matter of minutes.
I was impressed. The westgate location is near my home, and I certainly plan on making this another regular spot to enjoy great food.
My mother is from Thailand and I would compare dishes with my moms and they are spot on. The only thing is the service isn't very good which sadly contridicts Thai hospitality.
Good stuff. I eat here several times a month. The F3 with wide noodles, beef and two chilis is marvelous. My only complaint: the waitstaff is not very responsive.
Fans of Madam Mam's Noodle(s) and More on West Gate Blvd. are all probably already aware by now of the name change to Sap's Fine Thai Cuisine. You'll find the reason for the said change at the very end of this Austin Chronicle article . The Sap's staff assured us that only the name has changed. The staff remains the same. So no chef uniforms were hung or retired. We have been to Sap's and Madam Mam's on West Anderson Lane three times in the last four weeks. Three times! That's every weekend since March 4th, except for March 11th. I guess you can say we like Thai cuisine that much! Haha! This is my new favorite dry noodle dish, Yum Guay Teaw. My choice of protein was fried tofu. This dish reminded me of the Philippines' pancit sotanghon or pancit bihon except that this Thai version had cilantro and peanuts and had a sweetness and a hint of sourness to it. Hubby ordered the Noodle Lord and opted for vermicelli instead of flat noodles. He is usually happy with the dishes he orders at Sap'
Very tasty and authentic. Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection considering it is affordable. The interior is decorated in a theme of floating umbrellas that I think other restaurants should take some notes on.
My wife loves the Pad see ew chicken and the Thai tea always stands out as a perfect amount of sugar.
The spring rolls are also very good.
The service is also top notch and the pickup orders are always ready to go within 15 minutes. You really should make this your go-to for Austin Thai food!
We've had a lot of "meh" experiences recently in some of the local Thai restaurants, but Sap's didn't disappoint! Very friendly and prompt service. Food was great!
Best Thai food I've ever had, anywhere! Comfort food, to my tastes.
Went here for late lunch. I chose the pad Thai which is my favorite. The service is fast I will say that. They brought out the food and upon arrival everything looked good. I tried the pad Thai it was good but the tofu taste a little off so I took it off my meal. There are pretty umbrellas in the ceiling to take pictures of or with them in the background. The atmosphere was “ok” because there were various fly’s that I had to keep waving away from my food. Other than that it was Ok
Came to Saps from a friend's recommendation, and man, was I happy we stopped by! I love Thai food and this place had great service, amazing food and a vibrant atmosphere. The staff was super nice and friendly, happy to answer questions and give recommendations. The food came out quickly and the portions are pretty good size so we did need to-go containers after ordering a good chunk of the menu. Highly recommend the papaya salad and the green curry. Now I'm used to super spicy Thai food and even at the hottest spice this place has it wasn't the usual Thia spice I get so I would say to the other heat lovers out there it is good but not hot.
Good atmosphere. Faster service, Appetizers and Soups were good. Rice and Noodle Main course was a little saltier for our taste. Sweet sticky rice with Mango is a must try. It was absolutely delicious.

The food was good. It’s was a bit bland. But good. Better with some chili spice. Will be back.
I absolutely love the food! Also they are open late, and the staff is kind and very officiant 💙 I go once a week
We ordered 3 kinds of curry, each wonderful. I had shrimp as a protein and the shrimp were fresh and firm, not always the case. The only thing that would have been more to my liking is to have the yellow curry be just a tad less hot with spices. It was delicious but a little too spicy. I often order yellow curry because they are the mildest, but this one was a bit spicier than usual.
Very nice Thai restaurant with nice staff, good service, and a plethora of menu options. Food was very good and atmosphere was nice. I ordered the Street Pad Thai and would definitely order again. Great place for anyone trying Thai for the first time. Love that this place is open until 3 AM everyday.
I've been coming here for years and have had just about everything on their menu. If held at gunpoint, I wouldn't be able to tell you what my favorite dish is, simply because I have never been disappointed with what they've allowed to hit my palate. Attached to this review is the Yum Green Bean Salad (with tofu). If you're as obsessed with coconut as I am and don't mind a slight kick of the perfect amount of spice and acidity, this is the dish for you!
The food is spectacular and decently priced. I got the P50, it was sweet n tangy with the perfect amount of spicy and flavor. The Thai tea is delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely my number one Thai restaurant to go to now ❤️❤️
Fantastic food! This was the second time I've been here. The service was the usual, nothing too special. The atmosphere was nothing to special either (other than the ceiling and fishtanks). You can tell they love the place by how clean they keep everything (their booths are spotless). Anyways, the food and drinks are amazing. I've never had street style Thai anywhere before, but I'm definitely going back for seconds!
Very authentic Thai food. We haven’t been disappointed by anything we ordered there and we’ve been like 6 times. Living in nyc for several years we got spoiled with lots of amazing Thai restaurants in Queens. This one tastes just as good!! The street pad Thai is really good. I like spicy so I get level 3 spicy and it’s plenty. Level 4 and above is for pro level eaters. The chive dumplings are so good if you like chive dumplings. Special Penang beef curry is my favorite. It’s very hearty with big pieces of potato, a big pieces of meat and savory curry sauce, a little bit on the sweet side. Passion fruit drink is fun. Tom yum soup is tasty. The waiters are very nice and knowledgeable. Food comes out rather quickly and steaming hot. Love this place.
Good food. The Tom Kha soup was an excellent blend of creamy and citrus. The staff was very nice and helpful.
