The onion rings and Motzerella sticks were delicious. The club sandwitch was really good. My only issue is that it looks old and that the ambiance says senior citizen lunch facility (nothing wrong with that just saying). Overall a good bite to eat reasonable prices.

I absolutely love Jim's. The service is fast and efficient The waitresses are always there to fill up your coffee cup and to take your order quickly. Food typically comes out in about half the time you would expect it to so you know it's hot and fresh. It's always impressive how fast they get it out. This is an old style diner so little bit of a throwback to what you're used to getting with all the new yuppie restaurants in Austin. This place has stood the test of time and there's many locations all over Austin and San Antonio. The menu is your typical diner / American food. I prefer the chicken fried steak or the catfish plate. The coffee is always hot and rather strong all day and night. The breakfast menu is definitely up to par and they know how to take care of business. You can get in and out of here in about 20 minutes if you're in a hurry and it's the same bacon and eggs that you're going to get any higher in end joint in South Austin for half the price. I love how easy the parking is and anytime I'm in the area I can't help but stop in to Jim's.

It's a perfect good ole, American diner. Affordable meals, the food tastes real, and comes out quick. The only thing is it's pretty popular for breakfast and lunch, so be prepared to wait.

There's not too many diners left out there so do yourself a favor and check out this gem. Friendly service and good food makes this place a regular for me. The only minor issue I had was the brown gravy was very salty the last trip. I hope it's not regularly that salty because I prefer brown gravy on my mashed potatoes and white gravy on my chicken fried steak. I still love the place.

I just love going to Jim's Restaurant. Food is so good ; prices are so down to earth. I love seeing their primary customers, who generally are seniors . They have an extended menu for everybody and a senior menu but are not limited to great prices. My favorite dish from Jim's is Liver and Onions. For those who like "weird" stuff, I absolutely recommend this dish. Liver and onions it are not weird at all, but for some people, it is even disgusting . I just love it, and I will go back every time I can to get the same from the menu.

These diners give you more than your moneys worth and really great food too! Came here twice for breakfast and couldn’t be happier as a tourist. Very friendly staff, decent price and food to fill you up for the day. Definitely will be on the lookout for these if I ever come back.

Our waiter was very nice. The food was great, a chicken fried steak senior meal. Good thing it was senior size because it was large!

Amazing food. Great waitress. My wife, son and I ate there earlier this week. We expected a quality meal based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. All three of us got different menu items and all of us agreed this would be a restaurant we wanted to return to again and again. Looking forward to my next visit!

I have been going to Jim’s for decades now for breakfast. A good sign for any restaurant is that many of the waitstaff are still working there. It’s busy, chatter is lively… it’s a multi-generational diner. I should have written a review a long time back! That in mind, my most recent visit proved to be a disappointment. It had me thinking the place was bought out. I was greeted by a young hostess and immediately seated, which was really nice. She asked if I wanted coffee, then asked if I knew what I wanted to order. Their chicken fried steak breakfast is a good deal, coming wit crispy hash browns, 2 eggs and a biscuit which is what I ordered. Now realize, she was not my waitress. As a result when the food arrived, I had no utensils and ended up asking the bus staff to please get me napkins and cutlery. Now, I usually have a tablet so I can check up on news, but for some reason even though I could connect, I could not get internet because the agreement page refused to load on either tablet or my phone. Just seemed like everything was broken. The food was still great and eventually someone came by to see if I wanted more coffee and leave me my check (last time I was there my steak breakfast ended up costing 2x because eggs, hash browns and gravy were itemized!). I was very sad and told the cashier there would be no tip this time because I had no wait-staff. I will, however, continue going to Jim’s. Hopefully there will be a better experience.

My favourite meal at Jim's in Oak Hill is eggs Benedict. They outdid themselves with this visit. The eggs were absolutely perfect. The service was great. Just a couple of reasons why Jim's is our favourite place when traveling to and from South Austin.

Really solid food in a not so common restaurant. It's like a Denny's, except not Denny's. Our waitress/waiter changed three times, but they always kept making sure we were okay. For 4 people we spent around $50.

I had seen these restaurants around town but never been to one, so I did not know what it served. The menu is sort of like a Denny's; there are breakfast items, lunch, and dinner items. We tried the fried sampler, and that was really a meal by itself. It was so good. I had the patty melt, and when we left , I told my daughter that was really the best patty melt I have ever had. I will definitely be going back!

It's and Austin experience, it's good food fair price, nothing fancy. But it's for good folks and family and friends get together and have a meal and talk about things and just generally have a good time. If you're not looking for some fancy hoodie toity place then you found where you want to go. Good food fair price.

I went with the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn. CFS was very good. Cream gravy will need additional pepper. Corn was overcooked. I prefer a little crunch. Corn needs salt. Service was great. Everyone friendly. Served fast.

Jim's is a great dinner from San Antonio. The service, food and atmosphere are good. They are consistently busy but for good reason.
