My daughter and I have been coming to Mikado’s for 15 years. Mikado’s is my favorite restaurant. Mark Wang and his staff always make me feel like a VIP customer. Their food, service, and drinks are excellent. I am always posting pictures of my food and drinks to share with everyone. Their food presentation is top notch. Mikado’s personnel are like family to me. They all treat me so special!! I absolutely love this restaurant!! I highly recommend Mikado’s.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!
Service is impeccable and some of the best food ever... I will never forget one of the very best things I've ever tasted, yes, EVER, in my life - the Seabass at Mikado's - to die for!! Stopped in last night for a snack, an Austin Roll and a glass of wine... simply divine!!
best Sunday happy hour around! (all day!)
awesome drinks- SUSHI-staff-atmosphere.
highly recommend. <3
My staple sushi restaurant for the past 15 years. Excellent, friendly, hard-working staff and great food. Atmosphere is very elegant.
I like the ambiance and of course the best of the best sushi restaurant in Austin.
Awesome happy hour deals and great food! One of our favorite spots!
I love everything about this place. It won't disappoint!

Outstanding always!! Fresh toujours! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARK!!!!
Great sushi, the owner is very nice, our favorite sushi, we go there at least once a month if not more.
I can't believe it took me 5 years to try Mikado. Jumped right to my to 3 sushi places in Austin. It was great to meet the owner, too.
I cannot recommend Mikado Ryotei enough! I have ordered delivery through Uber Eats prior to ever eating in restaurant, and was always blown away by the quality and freshness of the fish. The wait staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, checking on us frequently. I came to eat dinner with a friend and we were given free soju and desserts, just because. Even if we didn’t receive the lovely free items, I would rate this restaurant a 10/10. The quality of food and people is absolutely top notch. We had the spicy hamachi appetizer, as well as gyoza, the love boat for two (a selection of sashimi and two rolls) as well as a cake for dessert. The yuzu sake was delicious, and is served in a chilled carafe with chilled glasses. The attention to detail to each and every thing is so lovely to see. The restaurant is clean, beautiful, and spacious. It’s great for a special occasion or a casual dinner. An Austin hidden gem for sure!
Very good food. The crab puffs and gyoza were amazing (I am not a big fan of raw fish). My boyfriend loved the sushi and nigiri as well. Great service and super fast to serve the food.
One of the most solid sushi places in Austin that I tried so far. I had the spider roll, Teresa, dejavú and el dorado. My favorites had to be Teresa and el dorado. Definitely will be trying more sushi from this place.
Absolutely amazing!!! I’d give them six stars if I could. I stopped to eat with my daughter who is just learning about sushi and what a treat! Josh, our server was attentive, understanding , and suggested exactly what we were wanting. Not to mention, he was just a great guy period. Sashimi was off the hook! I definitely recommend this restaurant to any sushi lovers!

Quality of the sushi was amazing for the price; sushi was super fresh and the wait staff was super attentive! Great dinner vibe, highly recommend the Joto Yuzu Sake. Definitely a hidden gem and close by The Domain. 10/10 recommend.
My family and I are visiting in Waco, TX. Our family consists of 2 older daughters, a 2 year old daughter and 1 year old son. This is the first vacation we’ve had as a complete family. We planned to travel to Austin to celebrate our 2 older daughter’s July birthday’s so shopping and dinner was a must. We are from a small town in Oklahoma and have never been to Austin. Upon looking up reviews, we came across Mikado Ryotei. The location is very easy to get to and once we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile from Jenny. We had our hands full so she helped with grabbing high chairs for both little ones and we got into a conversation. I told her we brought our girls here to celebrate their birthdays, one had already passed and the other is the 28th. Jenny came out and surprised each of our children with strawberry flavored Ramune to celebrate! My mouth dropped, it was the sweetest gesture-you never see this nowadays! We ordered beef bulgogi, different types of sushi, K-pop chicken, vegetable tempura and edamame. Everything was so fresh and mouth watering! My favorite sushi roll was the Shangri La, filling and so creamy. Jenny brought toddler silverware so our babies could eat with what fit their little hands and mouths better. Once my little family finished eating, I look up and Jenny is coming out with spoons, dessert and candles lit! We sang to them, I was trying to record it and Jenny took my phone so I could be a part of it! I was so excited! Then we all got to dig into the yummy sweets. After all of our bellies were full, we got to talk with Jenny and she told us of different places to go see in Dallas, since we told her we are planning to visit there too.
Before we left, we got to talk to another sweet lady and a very kind gentleman. Their smiles will get your heart so warm. This is a small family owned business and we are all about supporting them. I wish I had gotten names but the babies started to get tired and fussy, it became rush time to head back to Waco to get them a bath and bed.
It was the most amazing experience, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was beautiful and yet, comfortable. We don’t get to go out much so the fact that this restaurant is VERY family friendly meant so much to us. I cannot recommend Mikado Ryotei enough. Thank you all for making our girls birthdays one to remember forever more. It’s the little things that mean the most to us. We will definitely be making the trip to visit again. ❤️❤️
My family and I recently visited Mikado for dinner, and we were greeted by two friendly gentlemen who showed us to our seats. As the only customers at that moment, we had their undivided attention.
After we received our menus and glasses of water, we were ready to order. However, the waiters were also busy attending to takeout and phone orders, which slowed down the service. We had our kids with us who needed to be entertained, so we asked for the wifi password, which the staff kindly provided.
Despite the wait, the food at Mikado was definitely worth it. We ordered the shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura, and they were both delicious! The tempura batter was light and crispy, and the shrimps and vegetables were cooked to perfection.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Mikado, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in the area. The only downside was the slight delay in service, but the food was definitely worth it. We will definitely be back!
I'm pretty choosy on what I consider good sushi. The bar is high. This place impressed me quite a bit. Great flavors, some interesting options, the prices are reasonable. It was a great meal and I can't recommend it enough.
The Austin roll was my favorite of what I got, highly recommend it.
If you're looking for a sushi restaurant that won't bankrupt you but will still deliver amazing sushi, stop looking. You found it.
Hands down the best sushi in Austin! This is a hidden gem! The prices are amazing. They have the best selection of Japanese whiskey I've found.
"The sushi at this restaurant is truly exceptional, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that showcase the chef's skill. The variety of rolls and sushi options cater to diverse tastes. Nice service and atmosphere. Highly recommend for sushi enthusiasts!"
