This food is the best surprise yet from an Austin food truck. Honestly, the food here is delicious and the owner is a very friendly guy. Everything I have had here has been spectacular in every way. Try the lemon-mint drink as well just to have a complete Mediterranean meal. This place is hard to beat.
The falafel here is delicious. The plate is a generous meal of falafel, rice, tabouli, and eggplant. All for under $10. Splurge though and get the baklava.
kefta plate and mint lemonade blew my mind. best mediterranean food I've had in Austin, period. might just be the best mediterranean food I've had anywhere.
portion size is awesome too - extra credit
One of my favorite food trucks in Austin. Their food is always delicious, and a very good deal too! I usually get their mixed plate, which is huge and delicious, but often tempted by their baklava as well. Pretty much everything's good at Abo Youssef, including some of the best hummus I've had.
Best Mediterranean food in Austin. Consistently good and fresh. I'm in love with the gyro wrap. A gyro platter comes with enough rice for two meals. Pair it with the lemon-mint drink to tame the garlicky tatziki sauce. Hummus and salads are great for vegetarians.
best falafel in austin, hands down! very friendly and plenty of space to sit and eat your meal on a nice day. open later than almost any other place in the area as well.
It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been. My favorite dishes are grape leaves and Lamb Shank! Don't forget to try chicken shawarma as well!

Some of the best Mediterranean I have had! The gyro wrap was fantastic and huge for the price. Expect a little wait because everything is cooked fresh to order. Don't forget the baklava!!!
Delicious food and fantastic service!! I had the combo plate with lamb gyro and chicken schwarma, tabbouleh on the side. So good!! This is truly an east side gem!
Thiss one of the best spot ever been of food trucks
The gyro wrap was amazing. Great flavor, fresh ingredients and plenty of meat. I can't wait to eat there again!
Hard to find good, fast food on the east aide that isnt your typical fast food chains. My husband recommended id check them out and was not disappointed. Super tasty, great portion and awesome service!
I will happily drive out of my way to come back! Delicious food, fantastic customer service! BTW that lemon mint drink is legit.
This place is to die for! Extremely friendly man and amazing food!
Just moved here and hands down best grape leafs evere
Yummy, fresh and unique flavors. Manor Road Gem. Friendly owner & fun seating area.
Chicken shawarma was amazeballs. Owner was very nice and even gave us some Baklava to try, super yummy.
One of the BEST food trucks in Austin serving Mediterranean food. It’s located in a busy area with bars/restaurants, inside a gas station parking lot. It was our first time there but we have heard great things. We were greeted by an older man, he was extremely nice and runs the truck by himself. I asked him if he was Egyptian since my bestie is and she is from Alexandria. The owner said he was from Alexandria too! ☺️
We ordered the shish kebab plate, mixed grill plate, HAWASHY, and he gave us complimentary baklava since it was our first time there.
The meat plates were so good. The meat was generous and the pita bread was soft, warm, and so good with the hummus and meat on it. The salad was refreshing and cold. Works really well with the meat and rice and white sauce. The mix grill plate was a combo of lamb and chicken—get it if you want to try both meats. The HAWAWSHY was very very unique. It was a very big bread stuffed with beef and lamb. It was so soft, easy to pull apart, slight sweetness from the bread and spice from the meat. We got it as an appetizer but the size of it is a whole entree. I highly recommend you try the hawawshy next time. And lastly, of course the baklava was amazing. We air fried the 2nd one the next day and it was so good.
The food is so delicious!! Prices are keeping up with inflation and still cheaper than those sit in restaurants. Give this food truck and the Egyptian man from Alexandria a chance! :) I believe it’s ranked #83 best places to eat in Austin. There are a few picnic tables you can eat it.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. We always get great service and the gentleman is kind and sometimes provides a few extras at no cost. The portions are generous and you won’t leave hungry. There is nothing bland about the food either. Can’t wait to come back again!
Incredibly fast service and amazing food. Everything tastes so fresh and is perfectly cooked. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Such good hummus!! Wow. Thank you!
We came to Austin for Memorial Day weekend and ended up here, and it was absolutely delicious! I got the Shish Taouk Plate and it was great. The Baklava was also really good. I’m definitely stopping by again when I come back :)
The best and most authentic Mediterranean food in Austin served with a smile! The owner and chef was super friendly and made an incredible meal. This was the closest Mediterranean I’ve have since being in Europe. 10/10 recommend.
First time going tonight and I loved the food. The owner is nice and gave my husband and I free baklava for being first timers. We were surprised and grateful. I am def coming back. The food was worth the drive.
This place is amazing! The food tastes great, we got the mixed shawarma and gyro plate and you get tons of food! Comes with a side of pita. Hummus tastes homemade, it is delicious. Make sure you order some baklava. The owner is so so nice, he truly cares about providing quality food and quality service. A true East Austin gem.
Can’t believe I’ve lived in ATX for 7 years and 4 years in this neighborhood and hadn’t had Abo Youdsef until now. Samir the owner is so kind and even gave me a mint lime drink since it was my first time there. I’ve had falafel wraps all over the world and somehow my favorite one was right in my neighborhood the whole time. Thank you, Samir! It’s an unassuming food truck next to gas station but that’s what makes it a hidden gem. Picnic tables for sitting or take it to go.
BEST Mediterranean food in Austin! I’ve been coming here for years and the quality and service is always amazing. The owner is so kind and always whips up my food so quickly. Portions are big, especially the plates! And don’t skip dessert, the baklava and rice pudding are delicious too.
Hummus is amazing. The pita bread was warm and fluffy. Jasmine rice has perfect flavor. The protein is crispy and juicy at the same time. Gyro plate is my favorite
