You would think I would give them a lower score for not having canopies during the rain, but let's be honest. The brews came out quick, food trucks everywhere and they let us bring our own. Those big ass tv's to watch the games on. This place was great and it had the comfortable atmosphere only Rainey st can offer

A sports focused bar on Rainey St is pretty great. That have a number of TVs inside the small bar area, as well as a few outside, as well as a huge projector outside in the back which would be great for watching big games when it's not the middle of January. The bartenders switched over a TV so we could watch a different game even though the NFL playoffs were on which was nice. They had a pretty good beer selection that was around $5 or less so that was nice too.

Bar 96 is the perfect Austin bar. It’s got a nice rustic inside with a big bar and good choices of craft beer on draft. Then there is the expansive backyard with lots of seating and games for entertainment. It’s the kind of place you can easily make a day out of with friends. Service was good, but didn’t stick out either way. The beer selections are pretty good with more than a couple of local crafts. We had no problem finding a spot to sit inside or out at night, though it gets more crowded on weekend nights.

The definite sports bar on Rainey. Great place to hang on a weekday afternoon to catch a baseball game or a Saturday night to bar hop on Rainey. The bar space is limited so if its packed you will wait awhile. The backyard area is a great place to relax with friends and grab a bite at the food trucks. A definite recommend.

One of the first bars on Rainey street. This is a great place to have your group meet up before bar hopping, or watch a sports game. I have been here many times to watch USA soccer matches and NFL football games, always a good crowd.

Such a great bar. Regulars are treated like royalty. The owner has pretty much made Rainey a destination with her killer spaces. I love to sit on the deck and have a beer. Cool bar games around, and pretty much a great venue when SXSW rolls around. Get after it!!

Just like the other bars on Rainey, this place used to be a house. Cool place with some fun stuff to do. They have tons of board games and backyard games. Good bartenders. One of them actually competes in those flare competitions. I'll definitely be returning to this place.

Great bar with an amazing outdoor/patio area. Plenty of space to play some games, and perfect spot to kick back and relax. Bar can get packed, but the staff does a good job at handling the volume and maintaining order. Will definitely return when I'm back in town.

Fun atmosphere with a lot of TV screens and settings. Basic bar with the typical cans and draft beer with liquor options. Small inside with a large TV than can get packed quickly. If you've come to rainy to watch a game I reccomend coming here just get here early to get a table outside, it is covered patio. They have a few fun bar games and a taco truck. However with all of the taco trucks on on Rainey street I wouldn't recomend this one. Go down two bars to Bungalow for great tacos!

I didn't know of any sports bars on Rainey St but my friends wanted to go out there and also watch a game so I just did a quick online search and found Bar 96. The inside bar itself is a small room but the bathrooms are in a separate building out back, there's a big backyard area and the porch wraps around so the place can handle people traffic really well. Plenty of TV's all along the outside walls and the Bomb Tacos trucks in the backyard and right next door have a good menu if you're hungry.

You really can't miss this bar since it is at the very end (or beginning) of Rainey Street. It usually has all the people yelling during sporting events so if you like sports and you are on Rainey St. this is the bar to stop at. The other good thing about this bar is that the large open parking garage is right across the street so if you can't stay long, go here after you park and you can be in and out. The bar inside has a nice choice of signature drinks or just grab a cold one if you prefer beer.

Bar 96 has the friendliest bar staff on Rainey Street. My friends & I love to hang out in the back in the boardwalk-type patio or grab a table inside and watch the game. They even have a photo booth if you're feeling especially photogenic during your visit.

Definitely a fun spot with plenty of seating and various counters to set things down. You can find a place to stand, sit, or lean basically everywhere. Good drink selection and friendly bartenders. Really nice spot to hang out.

Great place to meet a friend for a drink or hang out on Rainey St. Large outdoor patio area where you can play games, like Jenga or horseshoes. I will definitely go back for a laid-back start to the night/end to the night.

It's a house turned in to a bar in a nice hipster part of town. There doesn't seem to be a lot of nearby parking so you might want to ride your fixed gear bike to this spot. Watched some football at this bar.

Bar 96 is perfect for watching games outside on their many, many TV's. They've got an adequate draft beer selection and a well-stocked bar tended by some very friendly, efficient folks. I've never had to wait more than a minute to get a drink here, even when it's packed. Bar 96 has a huge outdoor deck surrounding a tiny building. They don't serve food and so dogs seem to be welcome inside and outside. I've been there with foster dogs and they get lots of lovin by friendly people. Food is available from a bunch of trailers within stumbling distance. There's also a few sets of that ring-on-a-string game and giant jenga.

Really nice looking place. Pretty popular. More of a cool atmosphere. Music isn't blasted too loud for you to hear people. Super busy at the bar when Ive gone during the summer
