This is a solid Thai Restaurant. The plating of the food is eye catching. The flavor is good. Portion size for what you pay are generous. Reasonably priced. Location is not hard to access. Service could be better. Sometimes the mango sticky rice is not available. Overall a great place to come. One of our favorite regular places to eat.
Possibly the best chicken satay in town. Loved the eggplant stir fry, too. The Tom Yum was solid. The rest was good standard Thai.
This is a wonderful hidden spot. No frills - just really good Thai. It is is in a local strip mall. The food was wonderful and the service was as well.
The atmosphere was what you'd expect from a restaurant that is located in a shopping strip, a little nicer.
With that appearance, I expected average food, but was pleasantly surprised. The ( lunch time) food was excellent.
I had gone to meet ex-colleagues for a Christmas lunch and we all ordered drunken noodles. You specify the spiciness from 1 to 10.
I chose 3 and it was flavorful, with a black pepper taste for spicy.
Others ordered levels 1, 6, and 10 all enjoyed the dish.
I'll try other menu items in the future, but I definitely like this restaurant.
Must try if you are by north austin area. Spice levels are from 1-10. You can ask for 15 if you can handle spicy really well. We got spice level 4 and thought it was a sweet spot for us.
We ordered Thai fried rice veg and yellow curry/chicken with jasmine rice, felt food is fresh and tasted fine. Although chicken was chewy. Service was excellent. We also enjoyed the ambience.
Posting review after second visit. And this is a combination of both visits.
First point, their prices are a tad higher than other Thai restaurants. BUT it is completely worth it.
The amount of chicken they gave me in my soup, I ate it with two meals. The shrimps that are in their meals are jumbo shrimps and does not taste like rubber. Huge, huge Thai tea and tastes excellent! Wings are delicious.
Most important thing, each item tastes different and unique. Oh and generous portions too.
One thing. The spare ribs are probably short ribs. But again the portion is so generous that it doesn't bother.
Customer service is A+. Our server checked on us multiple times, made small talks and when I asked a simple question about an item, she was genuinely concerned about the quality of the item (which was not the concern).
We will most definitely return. We are so happy to have found this restaurant!
This is hands down my favorite Thai food restaurant in the Austin area!! I'm obsessed 😍 I have LOVED every single item I've ever ordered here... eggplant stir fry, drunken noodles, panang curry, larb, coconut cake (with real fresh slices of coconut), Thai iced tea, etc! The serving sizes are huge, everything is a great price, & the service is amazing too!! I've been here many many times, & every time, I experience the same top notch service 👍 Everyone is extra welcoming & friendly. I'm always amazed at how fast the food comes out since everything is made with fresh ingredients, lots of flavor, & a lot of love 😊 I recommend Sip Saam Thai to all of my friends & family, & they love it too!
Great tasting Thai food located in a quiet and good location. Attentive restaurant staff and with good menu serving steaming hot food. They have mostly beers based out asian countries. Try the Japanese Kirrin Ichiban lager, refreshing and crisp tasting. The Thai curry was excellent, next time I would order one curry that is good enough for 2 and ask for extra rice bowl on the side. Crispy calamari was one of the best I ever had. Will go there again.
Good tasty, authentic Thai food with decent portions. We ordered food to go. Service was prompt and accurately charged and food was packaged well. Slightly on the expensive side. Have eaten much tastier Veg dumplings and Pad See Ew elsewhere.
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best…

Went for lunch- got the pad Thai lunch special + Thai tea and the kids chicken nuggets meal. Good portions and incredible wait staff! They were so attentive and nice to us! Highly recommend!!!
I had the had the Pad Thai and it was heaven. I would say it's the best Pad Thai I've ever had. I think they use tamarind so it's a little sweet instead of fish sauce (I don't like fish sauce). Fresh, creamy, beautiful presentation and a generous dinner portion..I still ate the whole thing because it was too delicious not to.
This is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants in Austin! You can't go wrong with anything on this menu but I particularly love the yellow curry and get it almost 1x per week! Been coming here 5 years and I hope they stay forever!!
Great food!!
Tom Yum Soup [pot size] is an all time favorite. We especially like the flame to keep it hot.
The fried rice is delicious and well seasoned.
The coconut ice cream is a MUST!!
Sip Saam was wonderful. When you walk in there are two sides of seating to choose from, both are very similar. The thick bench and table design fits the place, giving it a nice relaxing and casual feel. The service was good, especially given the limited staff while we were there. The food presentation was excellent and fit each dish well. The price is very well in line with the place, service and food quality. Now onto why you are reading this....the food is wonderful, clean flavors, excellent balance and good texture, all because the dishes were prepared very well. We tried about 10 dishes and several drinks, not one complaint from any of about the dish, other than I shouldn't have order it that spicy from one participant. Everyone really enjoyed their food and drink. I highly recommend Sim Saam.
Def very good Thai. I liked Basil Fried Rice and Panang Curry (Vegan).
First timer here and already in love with the food! You can choose spiciness from 1-10, since I love flaming hot, this’s perfect! Everything we ordered that day was great! Service is decent and food was delicious! I especially recommend the Jerky Steak Appetizer. Oh, and this place opens 7 days a week!
This place is an extremely value for the quality they serve up at the price. Everything is plated beautifully and tastes amazing! Their Thai tea and iced coffee can't be beat. We hover around the spicy 4-6 level, but they accommodate all palettes.
