Great place to have delicious dinner in Austin. What I did was to follow Jed’s advice to pick my plate. Jed brought a super tasty burger 🍔 that I rarely tried in other places. Appetizers are all amazing! I order local beer (lone star) which tasted great. I definitely will come to this restaurant next time that I come to Austin.
Best friend in town and I’ve been wanting to try this place for a few months. We made a same day reservation and walked over.
The service was incredible. We were seated in our own private area, and opted to share entrees so we could try all try a few dishes.
CHAR-BUFF CAULIFLOWER - crowd favorite. Nicely breaded and vegan green goddess sauce for the win!
THAI HIPPIE TOFU - perfect fry and overall delicious dish
NAM NOM NOODLE SALAD - more noodles than cabbage, which was opposite of what we anticipated and lacked a peanut sauce
COASTAL SHRIMP & FRIES - dish was mid. Breading was not “tempura beer battered” but tasted more like cornmeal batter, rougher texture and deeper fry than expected.
SAMBAL FRIED OKRA - the okra was a bit salty for our taste but if you like spicy, this sambal sauce is for you!
I also tried the Lychee cocktail, which was perfectly sweet and balanced. Would order again!
The service was the best part of the evening, followed by the drinks and then food.
We took our team here for a work happy hour. The service was amazing and the location was great. They have a great selection of beers and mixed drinks. We had about 35 people and they were able to accommodate us well. We had a great time!
Anthem Austin, A Tex-Asian Pub, captures the essence of vibrant diversity with its Latin and Asian pub fare, creating a design-savvy haven that pays homage to the exuberant freedom of youth. Anthem's welcoming atmosphere, diverse menu, and inventive drink selection make it a standout spot. The itchy salmon, fried tofu, and shishito pepper cheese dip were not just fantastic; they were a delightful celebration of unexpected flavor combinations. Cheers to Anthem for fostering a place where everyone is welcome to the party!
Literally the most incredible food I’ve ever had in my life! I’m a rum girl and this is the place to be if you like sweet drinks! The place is super cute & has a casual, fun atmosphere. We went twice in one day!!!
Huge fan of this place. I’ve been here a few times, and everything I’ve had has been really good as well as pretty unique. The brisket rangoons and the fried Mac n cheese balls are amazing. For entrees, we split the chicken and waffles, which was also great and had an interesting twist in terms of flavor. They also split it ahead of time and brought it out on two separate plates, which was really nice. The drinks are all superb as well - I would recommend the frozen banana daquari as well as the piña colada old fashioned. The only weird thing is that you have to pay for the water, but it’s not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
This is sort of a Hawaiian fusion restaurant. I say sort of because it misses the mark a bit but, still has some good dishes. The have a solid mezcal cocktail “Cheech & Chong” which is probably the best drink I’ve had on Rainey.
Unlike many of the places on Rainey, the majority of this restaurant is enclosed. They also have a patio which is pet friendly. It’s a nice change of pace for the area.
Service has been top notch the few times I’ve eaten here and I’m still working my way through the menu. Paid parking is right around the corner.
My only regret is that I didn't get to try more items on the menu! Fusion menu with fun tiki drinks (mai tai is served in a take out box) highly recommend the brisket rangoons, and the rum old fashioned! Sweet potato fries also come with an amazing aioli. Really fun and chill atmosphere with super friendly hardworking staff.
Visiting Austin for the 1st time and being vegan in a BBQ capital seemed hard but places like this made it easy. Definitely get the cauliflower app and noodles with tofu. Chef's kiss!
Amazing spot. Came here with some colleagues for a pre conference lunch. This was the perfect place to build community, reset, and break bread.
💯 service
💯 food
💯 drinks
💯 vibe
We came late at night but service was still AMAZING. I don’t remember our servers name but she was a big help we’re new to town so she helped us find places to go and areas to look at in Austin. Hooked us up with a free drink and appetizer overall great vibes and great food. If you go there try the aloha burger !!
We were in the area and looking for somewhere decent for lunch. A lady at the reception in a nearby hotel recommended this place. Glad she did. My Nam Nom Noodle salad (added chicken) was fresh and delicious. My other half had Hapa Chicken Sandwich which he really enjoyed. Staffs were friendly and restaurant was clean.
It was really good.
Banana rum cocktail was quite strong but it was still good.
Brisket Rangoons were really good. It had cream and wasabi so great balance. Chicken waffle is good because i like how thin the waffle is. Miso mac-n-cheese fries were really good.
I think this is more of where you come after you ate to enjoy drinks and small bites.
Good vibe. Cute. I like chairs. Great casual first date place
Didn't know much about the place but tried it on a short visit to Austin. It's a pretty place with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and is all plated nicely and well prepared.
I liked that the food all seemed "fun" and often featured a twist on things you'd seen before. The brisket Rangoon for example... you've had boring cream cheese puffs before but the brisket I thought made it a much better item. Cocktails were good too.
Our hosts and servers were all friendly. Only thing disappointing was the table could have been cleaner. And not the restaurant's fault, but the parking is pricey in all the nearby pay lots.
Charred edamame is a must. Didn’t get pictures of the plates because we devoured them. Very cool atmosphere. Hip and well kept. Every drink and meal is unique and presented so cool. Great date spot. Great for sharing plates. Just such a good restaurant and will be back again and again. Flavors are worth the parking situation and a try. Staff are helpful and not snooty. Best spot on Rainey street by far. Make a reservation and enjoy!
