Highly recommend this fine dining restaurant. Carly was our waitress for a Friday Family dinner while all of my 5 children are on college break and home. We plan to request Carly if possible for future family dinners! Service was excellent. The pickled watermelon 🍉 balls to cleanse your pallet were a lot of fun. Thinkin the chef has an excellent sense of humor along with his vast culinary talents 😉. Steaks 🥩 were cooked to perfection, salmon 🍣 and chicken had the most amazing flavors as this 100 year old local restaurant has a 100 year old SMOKER that Daniel invited us to tour sometime. There was ample bar area seating and indoor as well as outdoor seating options. Save room for dessert and in house made Limoncello 🍋 ...so refreshing in this August Texas heat. Having said that their AC is working and their gardens are green and producing herbs etc. For now they are open Thursday to Sunday ...possibilities are endless after our experience and the local buzz ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ for sure

Our second visit to Hudson's and, while not perfect, it was a great experience. The owners have decorated extensively for Christmas which makes the entire restaurant feel like a festive farmhouse; a uniquely special atmosphere. Quail starter was a miss with very little meat and undercooked. The elk was incredible, perhaps the best piece of meat I have had this year. Even better than the smoked prime rib, which is also incredible. My wife's salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. Wine list getting better and, in general, you really get a sense that this place is a labor of love. Get there and support the effort.

Outstanding dinner. Get the elk. You will not regret it. So tender and flavorful. I wish I could get seconds. The foie gras and tartate app were both excellently done. The restaurant has a nice charm and the service was very personable and great. Live music was cool, too. Elk elk elk. If I could simplify this review it would be that: yes, the elk was worth it. Elk elk elk

Been going to Hudson’s on the Bend since they first opened in 1984. The new owners are doing a great job. Great atmosphere with some well thought out yet modest interior updates. We spent a wonderful evening with longtime friends. The entrees and wine were exceptional.

HUDSONS IS BACK!!! The menu is outstanding but there are now more options! They have a brunch menu now for Saturday and Sunday. They are also coming out with a lunch menu (open Friday's only) and a new happy hour menu. The new owners are great as is the staff!!

We had an AMAZING dinner here recently. Food was outstanding, and the service was amazing. Two of the co-owners who work the front of the house were so engaging and passionate about the restaurant, it’s history, and ensuring it’s future success with homage to its true and successful past. The chef, who is the other co-owner, is doing an incredible job. Wide variety of options, beautiful presentation, and everything we had was incredible. Go go go and support them, it’s going to be an amazing restaurant (again)!

After attending the grand opening, my husband and I finally drove out to Lakeway again from Bastrop. We were so excited to try the menu offerings and were not disappointed. I LOVED my prime rib! My husband had the smoked elk and it too was outstanding. We’re so happy to have a destination like Hudson’s on the Bend as our new favorite dining spot.

The taste of the food was delicious. We tried the prime rib and lamb lollipop chops surf and turf , but the temperature of the food was not as warm as we'd like, and this may have been due to the restaurant being a bit chilly. We enjoyed the Crème Brûlée and the apple torte as well.

We loved our dinner experience. Carly or server was so pleasant and accommodating. Our meal was excellent. If you live in or are visiting the area, Hudson’s is a place you should plan to visit. Thank you for making Hudson’s a wonderful “fancy” night out for our trip that we did not regret.

We've been dining at Hudson's on the Bend for special occasions since 1985, so when they recently reopened, we were eager to try them for the celebration of our anniversary. We were not disappointed! The food and service were as excellent as ever. This restaurant is an asset to Austin and especially the Lake Travis area and we are so glad to have it back. Come out and meet the new owners and experience superb dining.

Absolute fire. One the of the best meals of my life. A high end menu prepared and served with skill and friendly service. Everything had a little touch to it down to the side veggies on a perfect steak. Get the charcuterie board and my wife says get the Elk. Lisa’s been serving there since 1984 and was awesome too. Not a ringer, unpaid, that happy.

We very recently found out that Hudson’s had reopened and had our anniversary dinner there. The staff was amazing, super friendly, engaging, informative, attentive, while still letting us eat and talk, THANK YOU AUSTIN AND ZANE! The dining area is split into a few different rooms, which we had one to ourselves (awesome). Had a couple of appetizers, foie gras and pear toast and the crunchy avocado, both were excellent great mix of textures and taste! Wife had the smoked prime rib, mushrooms, and garlic mashed potatoes. She really enjoyed it and shared with me, phenomenal. Heated up really well the next day too! I had smoked duck ravioli, again just superb, rich but not too heavy. Did not heat up as well the next day but that’s on me for being a light weight and not finishing it. For desert I had the “velvet” cake, which was definitely not red, but delicious none the less, perfect cream cheese frosting. Wife had the key lime pie for desert which she said was delicious, and while not my thing was still good. No idea how either of those would have held up the next day, they didn’t make it. If I had to come up with a complaint about the food I’d say the ganache that came with my cake was slightly broken but was still really good! That’s it, that’s my complaint, this place and the people are awesome. Almost forgot to mention the amazing drinks. Wife a mojito which she really enjoyed. I had an Old Fashion which is the best one I’d had in a very long time. Overall great experience.
