We found this restaurant after searching for a buffet. Well this is not a buffet but cafeteria style dining. This is not what we expected but we still stayed. We tried calling the establishment beforehand but no answer. The foods on the bar all looked good and fresh. I chose the chicken fried chicken, spinach, red skin potatoes, and cornbread. My meal was good. Everything seemed fresh and hot. I usually get my gravy for my chicken on the side so it is not soggy. I was given a small two tablespoon bowl that did not cover my large chicken breast. The table service consisted of a waitress giving us napkins. So it was pretty much a self service restaurant and not full service. Overall it was good and we probably would return if ever in the Austin, TX area.
They have a lot of yummy items to choose from here which all looks so appetizing.
During the summer kids are free with a paid adult which is always a plus.
This is one of my favorite Lubys, food is fresh and the people are very friendly...the restaurant itself was very clean as well.
keep up the good work!!
I totally recommend this place!!😎
If it would have been less costly. I would have given it a five star. I guess that's why lubys is closing after all these years.
Always delicious and today was not the exception🙂. We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner and a great time at Luby's🥦🍗🥧. Thanks a lot!
We arrived at 11:15am for early lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The line in the picture was just after noon. Even when busy, you are served and seated very quickly!!
The food is good. The Parking lot is faulty open and on a steep incline. Spent around $15 per person. There is no atmosphere, and the wait staff is minimal.
This Luby’s is awesome! I’ve been a Luby’s customer since in the womb! (my mother worked there while pregnant with me) The way this location prepares the food reminds me of the one my mom worked at when I was a kid. I’ve only done delivery but they have always taken special care of my order whenever I order for lunch at work. Food is awesome and portions are very generous! I don’t know if y’all see reviews but thank you so much to the cooks and serving staff for being awesome! You are appreciated <3
Even though Luby's has declared bankruptcy, this location in Austin at Steck and Mopac was open. I enjoyed the Luanne Platter with fish, carrot salad, fried okra and cornbread. My wife enjoyed fish and a green bean side. Both of us had water. Total cost was about $17....not a bad deal. The staff brings your silverware to your table...kind of unusual. Compared with the peak of this cafeteria business, the selection of salads (for example) is not what it used to be. But the entrees are still varied and delicious and prices are reasonable. Location is clean and well equipped for the Covid 19 era, FYI.
I grew up coming to Luby's with my parents and now my kids love it! The kids really like the food and the smaller portion sizes for the kids meals are perfect for them. They all love the crispy fish meal and Mac and cheese!
The restaurant area is clean and comfortable and not so busy that everyone is sitting on top of each other. Sundays after church get busy but we can still get in and out fairly quickly. The food is always fresh and i had the salmon today which was really good with perfect seasoning and not over cooked which can easily happen at a cafeteria type restaurant.
Like to think I know and enjoy allot of Austin's exquisite dining . And I do. But I'm always so pleasantly surprised at the great selection of lunch/dinner items. Just how well everything is always seasoned and the amazing service for such an incredibly reasonable price !
