Chef David has created a mecca of authentic, childhood memory inspired, off the charts fresh and delicious. The lomo saltado was simply perfect. Be sure to have the sauce on top and as Chef David says: “Put a little spice into your life!” The ceviche was stupefyingly perfect with japanese sweet potatoes and fresh cut chips. We plan on coming back…a lot! Thank you Chef David for creating such an amazing dining experience! Of note, Chef David is also the resident DJ!

Amazing quality Peruvian food! Loved the fried rice. The fried plantains were great in this dish along with the flavor of the sauce. We also got the ceviche that was fresh and had amazing flavor and a good spice level. Brought me back to the time I visited Peru. Highly recommend this place for great Peruvian!

Food is always delicious, hot, and fresh. I always get the chicken sandwich and the portion is very generous. Order ahead or be prepared for a bit of a wait (15-25 min usually). I don’t mind a wait as long as I know ahead of time, so just a warning for you. Another warning, there are mosquitoes around the truck. Last time I went, bug spray was provided, but I usually walk to the nearby drug store for a drink, wait in my car, and keep an eye on the truck. My boyfriend doesn’t get bitten, but I usually do. Either way, service is great, and food is incredible, so I don’t mind a wait. Truly, this guy should open a brick and mortar or another food truck, because this one kills it.

In my opinion, this is the best food in Austin. I have never been disappointed and every time I eat any of the dishes here I am astounded by the flavor and quality of the ingredients. Davis is a true master and am thankful he's just down the street. My favorite dish is the lomo saltado although the arroz chaufa and ceviche are also excellent.

Best food truck and Peruvian food. Period. I have been coming here for 6+ years, and I always come back whenever I’m in town. Be prepared to wait, or call the food in 1-1.5 hours ahead of time, esp when busy. David is the man and the food is well worth the wait.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Austin. Really felt like the chef made it with love. Lomo saltado tasted like my mom’s cooking. Every bite was on point

We came here for dinner on a weekday. Ordered the Ceviche de Pescado and the Lomo Saltado - finally found a great Peruvian restaurant in Austin! (and it's in a tiny food truck) First came the Lomo Saltado, which was delicious! The first thing that caught my attention was the orange sauce provided with the lomo, which was mildly spicy and mixed great with the rice and fries adjacent to the lomo. The meat itself was cooked very well, even if you don't consider the fact that this came from a tiny food truck - it was juicy and flavor-filled, with plenty of sauce all around it as well as the caramelized red onions and tomato. It had a delicious taste that wasn't dependent on the cilantro, but the little bit on the top improved it still. The steak fries were tasty and crunchy too, and the rice was a bit dry, which meant it absorbed the flavor of the sauce and adjacent ingredients. Following that, we had the ceviche, which was marinating since he started making the lomo - needless to say, it was juicy and delicious, with the raw fish and all the onions and corn having the same juicy flavor from sitting in the citrus. It used the real peruvian corn (choclo), which is larger and has a thicker texture inside. It was even garnished with the snacky, crunchy version of the corn commonly served at peruvian restaurants while you wait. Delicious, and again, very reasonable portions. For this dish, he asks how spicy you'd like it - we got mild, which was more than enough (unless you love super spicy thai food, in which case you can definitely go with medium or hot). Overall, being born and raised in Peru, I am very happy with the both the quality and quantity of the food, and the friendly service is a big plus. Both of the dishes we had tasted great, just like my family back home makes. Having finally found a good place for Peruvian food in Austin, I will definitely come back.

My first time here, and it won’t be my last time! The food is pure delicious comfort food. Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian Fried Rice) is my favorite and the Lomo is amazing as well!

Don't judge a book by its cover 😉 that being said this food cart in front of a house/business is the real thing! I ordered the cerviche, I didn't have to wait too long as others, my order was spot on! The flavors, presentation, and taste deserves 👍👍 *(stow a camp chair in the trunk if you're eating there, seating is limited)

Easily the best food truck in Austin. Here's the thing though, this isn't fast food and it isn't uncommon to have to wait 40-60 minutes for you food here, especially during rush. Chef David is a phenomenal cook but he's a one man army. I recommend calling ahead so you're not waiting outside for too long. Always worth the wait though!

Authentic Peruvian in Austin! No frills! The Arroz Chaufa(fried rice) is awesome. The Lomo Saltado had the right mix of Peruvian and Asian. The ceviche is good. You might have have to wait, but just go to Spiderhouse for a drink! This review comes from a Peruvian!
