The food is very delicious, reasonably priced and the presentation...cute ☺ Mmm!! I also like that the music is not too loud and mostly acoustic. We will be coming back. ❤
I'm very excited to have this location open on the southeast side of Austin. Equally happy how consistent and wonderful the new location is. I'm excited for the new space and opportunities they'll have to truly expand concepts they've done, at the original and Cedar Park location.
I am a noodle junkie. Pho Ga with added fried tofu, adulterated with sweet bean paste and a touch of spice. Best soup in Austin. If you aren't into soup or noodles, browse the rest of the menu which covers the gamut of standard 'Chinese' dishes found in other restaurants. Try the bubble and thai teas, I hear they are excellent as well.
Wednesday 6$ pho. Can't beat it. For the price it's legit
Loved the pho dishes and the noodle soups.friendly service.
Love going to lunch at Kim Phung with my cousin Beverly Durst-Alexander. Hope to see you there.
Great Asian restaurant. This small restaurant sits in a small strip mall just off Lamar before one hits the mid-town area of The Triangle, and is hard to spot unless one is looking for it. However, it is one of the best Oriental restaurants in North Austin. It serves a variety of Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, Vietnamese crepes, and rice dishes, along with numerous Thai curry and noodle dishes, and various Chinese dishes also. We ate here on a Monday for lunch, and was impressed with the food. Sizes were good, but not overly large. Flavors were impressive; i.e. their wonton soup was slightly sweet, which is how good wonton soup is supposed to taste. The prices were also good. Maybe the best testament to the quality of this restaurant is the continuous flow of customers into the place while we were there, with Americans and Orientals being commonly represented. Of the two Kim Phung restaurants in town, this is supposedly the older of the two. I would conclude that it is also the better of the two.
Good food. What else can you say its good food, the bowls of Pho' are big and they also have some of the best hot & sour soup in town.
Thai flat noodles are also excellent.
Been eating here for a long time. 43 is my current favorite ( tofu), u can get the same thing with chicken if u don't like tofu.
I have been getting my haircut next door for the last 18 mos and always noticed this place is busy, now I finally know why. Best Vietnamese place I have found in austin
Best hot & sour soup. Been coming to Kim Phung since the early 90s and have not found hot & sour soup I like better anywhere else. I also love all their vermicelli dishes, especially the a shrimp and lemongrass. The vegetables are always crisp and fresh. Jasmine iced tea is excellent. Portion size is huge! Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are, but food service is usually pretty quick. I'll be dining here another 20 years...
Hot & Sour soup from the heavens!. Words can not express my fondness for their Hot & Sour soup. BEST EVER. I wish I could say the same about their Crab Rangoons but luckily the soup and their extremely tasty Pho and various other entrees make me forget that I dislike anything at all.
Consistant and Cheap. Kim Phung has been around forever, and there must be a reason why. I always enjoy my visits, but this place gets so packed it's easy to go to another place around the corner.
They have $5 Pho on Wednesdays, $1 egg rolls on Monday, and $1 spring rolls on Tuesdays.. great deal!
The Bun is great, and the bubble teas (especially coconut) are delicious!
I absolutely love their vermicelli with BBQ'd pork and Vietnamese eggrolls off the bun menu. The pork is super tender, with this sweetness to it. The egg rolls are crispy and flaky and the portion is huge. I've tried other places but no one does it like KP. Only down side is how ridiculously busy they get at noon.
Fantastic Vegetable Pho.... The vegetable pho is delicious. Loaded with lots of veggies including big SLABS of bamboo shoots. I've never had bamboo chutes anywhere else served like this. They're so big and soft, its like biting into a slab of canteloupe or mango....
Delicious!! Highly Recommended...
Also, they have a banner outside saying they were voted best pho in Austin... not sure what year that was, but this is definitely the best pho I've ever had anywhere...
Good spring rolls and vermacelli.
Excellent Vietnamese Food. I have eaten here for over 15 years...this is my favorite vietnamese reataurant and I have tried at least 25 others...These are the nicest people and the best asian food I know...
Ok, so here’s the deal. I’m not sure of what the bad reviews are about (maybe their timing right after covid?) ….anyway, for us it was a 1st time awesome experience. No, it’s not in a cute part of town, it’s not a looker of a location, and it’s not a place spot to celebrate a fancy anniversary or bday. However, if what you are into is real Vietnamese food, THIS IS THE SPOT in central Austin.
The Pho is a must. We also got the Banh Mi and have to also say that outside of Vietnam, is one of the top 3 we’ve had in the USA.
Seems like they stay busy as a take out/delivery place. We chose to dine in since it was completely empty and had our pick of booth (again, nothing fancy, posh or pretentious, just good authentic food) 👌🏽
$6 pho on Wednesday’s, well worth it. This place could use some deep cleaning, but service was great, even with basically one lady running the whole show. She was very attentive and polite, but struggled to maintain bussing tables which was understandable based on the amount of people coming in and out. She had to run the register and help in the back as well. Too much for one person, so all the negatives about this place could be fixed with more staff. Food was good, came out pretty fast.
their food is amazing. i love the fried rice and chicken pho. however, there were some rare occasions with a worker who never brought our food and kept trying to talk to my friends and i instead of taking our order. we kept trying to say what we wanted and he'd go "oh yeah you wanted food" and that happened a few times before he finally took our order. we ended up waiting for over an hour and our food was never ready, he just kept talking to us and asking if i lived in the area and things like that. aside from that, all the staff has been incredibly nice and their food really is delicious.
I got the egg noodle soup with shrimp and pork egg rolls; decent food.
I can’t help but always get the lemongrass chicken every time I have gone here over the years. This place holds a special place in my heart which I will not going into on here, but the lemongrass chicken is phenomenal.
Delicious food, one of my favorite lunch spots. Most frequently I get the grill pork and egg roll vermicelli salad, which they serve in a very generous portion. Although the inside could use some updates, the staff are friendly and food is worth the trip.
Easily my favorite asian restaurant in town. I have been eating here for 20 years or more. They're known for their Pho but I prefer the Bun...Menu item #33 (bun w/ roasted pork and chopped egg rolls) is truly fabulous.
Great spot for lunch
The Hostess Mr.Tuan was nice and friendly
Pho is great here as well as the combo plate... Make sure you ask for condiments because you will be left condimentless!!
One of my all time favorite spots wow just wow Duck leg soup with egg noodles is absolutely amazing.🍜🍖 and anything with there grilled pork🔥
