I come here often and find the service and quality of food to be excellent. I love that this is in "my" neighborhood.
Normally a hit...but had a miss.... We love going to Morelia's. Have not had a bad dining experiece up until Saturday, May 26. We got there about 10:30pm, asked to be seated outside. We were given the full menu. When the waitress finally got to our table (she had been watching the band), she told us that the kitchen closes at 10, and they have a seperate menu. But she said to go ahead and order off the full menu and it would be fine. When our food got to the table, waitress said that they were out of charro beans for my plate and the Queso flameado with beef fajita, had a layer of grease on the top and when my husband went to get some, all of the cheese came up in one chunk out of the bowl. Like it had been microwaved and then sat there for a while. My chicken dish (which I order regularly) had onions underneath it that are normally grilled, this time they were practially just raw and laying under the chicken. The dish normally comes sizzling to the table. No sizzle. My husbands nachos were perfect (they are on the after 10 menu). When the waitress came to our table to give us the check, finally (again, watching the band)...we told her about the quality of the flameado and she said oh yes, I can tell you didn't like it. And then we get the check. After we expressed not liking the flameado (and didn't take more than a bite since it was pretty much inedible), and not having the charro beans with my dish, we were still charged full price. Now the thing is, we would have been perfectly happy ordering off an after 10 menu had she given us one, and we let her know that. I mean, if you're kitchen isnt going to turn out quality product, don't give the customer the option to order off the full menu. I don't mind paying for a decent meal (we typically spend $50-$60 each visit), and I will go back, now that I know about the different menus. However, a customer shouldnt be expected to pay for sub par food because the kitchen was closed and they were told don't worry about it, it will be fine.
Friday at 6:45pm. This place is a great addition to our area of Avery Ranch. The restaurant was very full, but we were able to be seated immediately. They created a great atmosphere and the place was buzzing with activity, Our service was over the top good. My wife and I had two dinner entrees and four margaritas. The food was as good or better as any other similar type Mexican Restaurant. Our bill, including an 8 dollar tip was under $50 - not bad. Our only complaint was that the two free salsas (red and green) were weak on flavor, oh well, we ate a few less chips. The portions were big too, we took half our plates home with us. We will definitely be back to eat and drink at this restaurant.
My wife and I have been to two locations and both are excellent. We recently went to the parmer lane location and Pete Benz was playing. He really got the restaurant going and had a great time. We can't wait till the outdoor patio opens.
Avery Ranch is in luck. The snooty reviewers can stay at the Z down the road. Morelia has potential to become a great 'local' happy hour and dinner option. Will be back!
I loved it. Ok all you people hating on morelia i understand if its the restroom because i hat the toilet paper dispenser. but all and all i loved the people, the food and the margasols and it is a morelias signature created drink.

Spectacular new location! Same delicious food and reasonable prices. We had been anxiously awaiting the opening of this new Avery Ranch location.
Significantly better fajitas than most other Mexican food restaurants in the vicinity. We almost never try anything else because we like them so much. Can be a little noisy on a busy night, but nice atmosphere and very conveniently located!
Good food, lots of selections to choose from. The booths are a bit rundown but that doesn't affect the food. Service can be a bit slow but that probably just depends upon your server. Conveniently located.
We decided to check out this spot because we heard the lively band playing (on a Thursday night).
Not only was the band great, so was the food. And we got our order probably 10 minutes after ordering. Which was great because we were in a little bit of a rush so it was perfect.
I had the fajitas texanas (?) I think, so they added tomatoes, cilantro and mushrooms which I thought were a perfect addition.
Will definitely visit again if I’m up this way.
And enjoyed the food I enjoyed the place It was a nice little Mexican restaurant to get away and go and enjoy some good food. they had a bar and outside patio area to enjoy also
Great place. Service was just a tad slower than expected but waited was great and food was great
Loved Everything... Some of the Best Mexican food I've had here in Austin...
I love discovering a neighborhood place like this. Never would have ordered the spinach enchiladas. They were delivered to me by mistake and they are now my favorite menu item here. Also, Love the two salsas. Excellent guacamole. Everything I've tried here has been excellent
Great weekends only brunch/breakfast buffet, no line, they make the food in front of you.. it's like in a Cancun Resort
Very nice Mexican restaurant. My daughter loves the salsa. Very accommodating. Everything I have tried has tasted great! My only complaint is they recently switched from Coca Cola products to Pepsi products. Guess I'll need to start drinking more margaritas.
My family and a dear friend showed up at Morelia Grill at 8:30pm on Sunday night, 30 minutes before closing time. We were greeted with smiles and an inviting welcome. "Are you sure it's not too late?" my friend asked the host. "Absolutely! Yes, sure! Please come, sit down." he said.
He proceeded to seat us and our server came to greet us. She took our drink order and brought chips and two salsas as a starter, as we perused the menu. Wow what a GREAT menu! As we considered the many offerings, I looked around the dining area noticing the beautiful wall murals and detailed wall finishes that look like real stone archways. Beautiful. The music playing was an eclectic mix that was enjoyable.
We ordered our dinner and after a typical food preparation timeframe, received piping hot delicious meals which we all enjoyed. The portions were generous and the prices were great (averaging $12/dinner entree) and the total for the four of us was under $50. Sweet! We had a great time and I will definitely go back again. I recommend this restaurant!!
Everything I have had here so far is great. I am very picky with beef fajita meat and I have no idea how they prepare the meat here but it is mouth watering. The queso is great, too. Very nice patio and pet friendly when seated outside. Highly recommend!
I went there a week ago on a Friday. It was pretty crazy and after sitting and eating i wasn't surprised why! Right when you walk in the hostesses standing at the door are more than happy to great you. They ask you how your day is and seat you down. The food was amazing. I had the Fajita Romanas and my little girl had a kids Enchilada. Both were terrific and my girl is very picky about her food but she ate it all and so did i. The service was awesome and i will be going back for sure! My waiter was terrific and i went back a second time and the same hostesses was there smiling and happy to see us! they even have something nice to say when you leave. I feel like family there and i plan to go back again. The only recommendation i would make is the dress code. All the servers and even hostesses look so plain in just black. Make it colorful! Other than that it has my approval
