We visit this place once a week because they treat us like family. Also, the staff always makes time for us too, like Chase (Mgr) and Nick (best waiter). We also love watching the Chive on their TV- that channel is addicting.
Queso was on point and the bacon cheeseburger with Onion rings forget about it.... Lol good place for Sunday and good music.
Only place I can watch the game and have a brownie with ice cream like Chilies 🌶 use to do... I’m a simple dude and been in Austin most of my life. I don’t expect Waterloo to be a 5✨ Restaurant like some of these food critic reviews. I expect it to be an Authentic Austin joint with good service that’s doesn’t kiss ass but treats you like I would treat you. Like another dude or chick hungry ass hell.

TEXAS WINGS AND A MARGARITA!. Last week I went to Waterloo Ice House for my first visit. I had their awesome wings, HOT with a BBQ twist that makes them a little sweet. It is a great combination. I had their Herradura Margarita, it was good and fresh! Service was fast and friendly. Definitely going back soon!

I just moved to Austin and I've heard so much about this restaurant,I gave it a try for breakfast and loved it!! My waitress Melissa was so sweet and friendly. I had your buttermilk pancakes and they are amazing. I will be back.
Great Food and Service. I've been here twice for brunch and both times the service and food were excellent. The blueberry pancakes are the best in town! The chicken fried steak is awesome too.

BF and I had brunch here and it was awesome. The servers were awesome, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful with my questions (I have a lot of allergies). The food was delicious and I didn’t get sick because they followed my request to leave out the seasoning that I was allergic to. If you need gluten free, don’t forget to let them know, the gluten free menu is separate from the main one. They also have lots of vegetarian options and I think with some creativity you could find a decent amount of vegan options.
We came on a Sunday afternoon around 2 and were seated immediately. Family friendly. Good options on kids menu and even comes with a desert for them. Atmosphere is really cool. Great place to watch football or having lunch with friends. Really great food as well. We had the Texas Philly (husband said it was amazing) and the Waterloo Migas. 1 AMAZING 2 breakfast is served all day, so that’s a win in my book. I love when I can breakfast at anytime.

Food is always delicious no matter what you order. Prompt, friendly service. Laura, great service and anticipates requests before you ask. David made a very delicious spinach, mushroom, bell pepper and tomato omlette. My favorite breakfast location.
The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! Cute Mickey Mouse chocolate pancake for the kids. Our server Courtney G was so sweet & brought a water bowl out for our dog. I would have given 5 stars but it we felt like it was overpriced. We paid $67 for 2 cocktails, 1 kids plate, & 2 adult entrees.
I came here for breakfast. The food was tasty and they have very large portions (you can see how big they are in the picture. I was half way through here). The homemade biscuit was yummy, as well as the the spinach and mushroom omelette and home fries I got. It was your basic breakfast, but everything tasted good. Mimi, my waitress, was a sweetheart and very attentive.
Food was the best had the tortilla encrusted catfish and the jalapeno sauce was outstanding. To noisy for me but the world is geared for a different generation. Waitress was nice but it was busy and she had lots of tables.

I was craving breakfast, when I walked in Laura handed me the menu saying “We have breakfast all day!” Immediately I got a coffee, and ended up getting a breakfast taco, each with a different variety. I highly recommend The Santamonica. Both red and green salsa are good too. The way the cheese melted and dripped down from the taco was delicious. I will be going to Waterloo for a third time in the near future
I am jus a country boy at heart. I like to take my wife out at least once a week to eat dinner. We enjoyed hills cafe until they closed the doors. I really missed there chicken fried steak, until last night. That's what I ordered at Waterloo and it was perfect. So now we have a new regular place to go and eat and catch up on sports . This place is 5 stars all around.
Waterloo Icehouse always has great service and tasty food..You can't go wrong with their breakfast, lunch or dinner options. The huge playground out back for the little ones, unfortunately, has been closed for many months now. But Waterloo is still a nice spot to take the family.

This place was clean, the food was great but my bartender/waitress made the day. This was my first time visiting Waterloo and not only did she make it memorable, along with the food and timely service she confirmed this as a favorite spot of mine. She was cool and calm yet entertaining and motivating. I was out to adventure new food and drinks and she was informative on EVERYTHING and I do mean everything and if she wasn't you'd never know it because she described everything to a "T". I told her what I liked and she described things that I might like. The food was awesome and those were just appetizers! The list of compliments can go on and on. Anyway, my friend and I have decided to make this a "spot" of ours. I can't give enough compliments to my bartender/ waitress because I saw the other customers she had and somehow she managed to give customers at tables, other customers at the bar as well as me and my friend equal attention without disappearing too long. I describe her as a butterfly floating around spreading joy. As a matter of fact, another bar patron gave her a funny nickname because he'd obviously been there before and knew her and we laughed and joked because someone left her some loose change for a tip and we were like "???"," Anyway, as individuals trying to enjoy the social scene, this turned out to be the best it could have been without the restaurant giving out money! As soon as I remembered the bartender/waitresses name, I will amend this review to reflect her to the fullest. My friend and I say "thank you for the great time".
The Blue cheese and peppercorn burger is delicious, as well as the chili cheese fries. Who am I kidding? Everything we’ve had at Waterloo has almost been nothing short of amazing. Great beer selection, great set up for NFL, and the service is great! Laura was very attentive and made our dine in experience unforgettable! We will definitely be back. Thanks Laura!
Waterloo was recommended, and it was good. I had the trout (a little dry). The family had the chicken salad, chicken fried chicken, and the pulled pork sliders. They were happy with their choices. Overall not a bad place to watch a game. Lots of tvs. Kid friendly with a huge swing set.
I wish I could remember our server’s name (Aisley? The redhead scorpio!) she was phenomenal. I’ve been in the industry for a decade and I appreciated everything she did for my mom’s birthday. Our table was obnoxious and quite a lot but she still made it feel so special and bossed it!!!
First time visiting and definitely will return. My son felt at home, said it had a homey feel. The waitress and manager were exceptional. Food was amazing after having a horrible experience just before, waterloo definitely brought us to a better place. Thank you!
