My husband and I eat there practically every weekend. Food is delicious. Would recommend it highly.
Went for a business lunch for the first time today and it was truly amazing! The food was wonderful and the wait staff was super friendly and very professional! I will definitely be back next time I'm working in the area! Gracias la famillia!!!!
They have amazing authentic Mexican food, with great drink specials!
Small Mexican place with great prices and food just like back home on the border.
Had lunch with my Compadre Mike Aguilera great time and Wait Staff great people will be back.
I love their breakfast tacos! So good! I need to come for dinner some time.
Our favorite little South Austin Mexican restaurant! Great margaritas!
We have been here so many times and it has consistently been a treasured jewel in our go-to places for authentic, handmade TexMex. I always say going to family run restaurants is like going to a friends mother's kitchen. It may not taste exactly like the chain restaurants, but it's that difference that makes the difference. Margaritas are delicious and strong without the chemical flavoring of some places. Their beef fajita nachos are the best in town (you can fight me on that. lol). Shrimp chipotle enchiladas are perfect every time (the shrimp has never ever been overcooked). Also, the chicken chipotle enchiladas are exceptional. My sister told me last time to never let her order anything else but the chili relleno anytime we take her there. She loved it so much. Fajitas are sizzling and flavorful and they give you a lot! Salsa is fresh and hot and good. I think the queso is very good, but that's the only thing that I think is too expensive, (lol, go figure) so we don't order it that often. That being said, they don't "nickel and dime" you to death if you want a little extra sauce, or some extra jelapeno's etc., they just bring it. If you like extra spicy salsa, ask them for the green sauce. It's really good. If you want fresh from a family run restaurant, you can't lose with this place. It's a real gem!
La Familia is right around the corner from me, and it took this long to find it? I sure wish I would have found it when they opened. Like everywhere else, prices have gone up now, but everything they make is wonderful. We still come here often.
Food is excellent, much better than Chuy's I think. I loved my vegetarian enchiladas.
My only complaint is that the horchata had too much cinnamon for me. I won't order that again when I come back, and frequently!
I LOVE this place! I went there expecting very little to be honest, but oh boy! Those are the best tacos I’ve ever tried in Austin 🤭🤭 everything was soooo delicious!!
The girls who serve are cuties too, everyone is so nice and warm. I loved it there!
I avoid the usual places for breakfast because there is always a wait. Not here and they serve great breakfast. They made the eggs how I wanted and their pancakes are huge. The breakfast tacos are also on point!
Update
Went back for breakfast and boy they nailed me for a customized omelette $17
47 and being ordered after 11 am $2.00(breakfast served all day)and a scoop of guacamole. No price on the add-ons. Damn inflation. This place no longer an affordable breakfast option.
Their barbacoa mini street tacos are my go to order. Consistently delicious and the small side of beans on the side is what puts these above other tacos in the area in my opinion. A perfect meal.
The restaurant was clean and the waitress very kind. The food I ordered was freshly made and the best tacos I've had. They were filled and delicious. The flavor was like food made at home by our moms. I definitely will go again.
Really good chips and salsa. Got the chili relleno. It came with guac, beans and rice. It was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
La Familia is an excellent small Mexican restaurant located along William Cannon Rd that provides good lunch options for people working nearby. I like their lunch menu that offers enchiladas or taco plates with iced tea included for under $8. From time to time, I would try their Plato Combinado that consists of choice of any two items from: Seasoned beef, chicken, barbacoa, al pastor, milanesa or bistek. The plate comes with rice, choice of beans and avocado salad. The portion size is generous and has a great taste. I would definitely recommend it.
Authentic Mexican food. There’s a reason why this place has over 4 stars. The rice and beans were delicious. The chicken flautas were the best in town. We’ll definitely be going back for more!
I have been coming here for YEARS! Staff is always very courteous and speedy. Any time of day I like to get the pancake breakfast 😁
Great neighborhood eats, thank you!!
Authentic Mexican Food, delicious!!! Great staff, cozy albeit a small sitting area. But truly great food for a great price. I have finally found one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Austin after moving from Houston a year ago - a very high bar!
Our go-to spot for Mexican food. Its always good. The gordita plate and sub the ground beef for steak. That’s really good. I also recommend the steak with cactus on it. Nopales I believe its called
