I love this location! The food is always good when you visit any location, but the people that work at this particular one are top notch! Very friendly and inviting staff, that always greet with a smile and often go out of their way to make my day. Thank you for being the sandwich heros we need!
This is a remaining business of "old Austin". Great sandwiches, prepared and served by people that are given the freedom to be themselves. This isn't a place for strict uniforms and corporate scripts they are forced to read out to you when you order. Just good sandwiches served by happy employees with autonomy.
Classically Austin in every way from the decor to the workers I love going to thundercloud for a good sandwich when the craving hits.
I have never had a bad meal from any location, and I do recommend getting a slice of carrot cake for dessert.
Overall their ingredients, from bread to fillings, always taste fresh and the sandwich makers are attentive without being saccharine.
I hope these places never close as I would have a hard time finding somewhere with just the right level of old stoner sandwich that is a vibe of Austin to the core.
Nice staff..very fresh and will make it anyway you like it. Italian is my main sandwich or meatball subs when it’s cold. Yum!

This store single-handedly keeps my business!! It seems like other stores build sandwiches too fast and can mess up orders , but they don't care to make it right or give you a better experience. HOWEVER - this store messed up a sandwich 1 time, and management was eager to make it right. I spoke with the manager, and he told me that he valued my feedback and wanted to offer me a sub to make it right. THIS is customer service, and other stores(like 290) should take note of how well this Manager handled the situation. I went back and got that free sub today and it was DELICIOUS!!!!! Thank you store #5 for the amazing sandwich!!!!! Great attitudes all around!
Ricky and Zoe at Thundercloud #5 usually take our order and they're fun and friendly every time! They deserve a genie wish and a heaping hot fudge sundae! Always a great experience and always delicious!
ThunderCloud is one of my favorite sandwich shops and I had an excellent experience at this location. The person who made my sandwich was careful and follwed my instructions that I gave because of a food allergy. Really great, friendly service and it's a nice, clean store.
Really great local subs, the location is on some of the last vintage areas of town so certainly worth a visit, as always great menu choices, friendly staff and pretty fast service.

Very kind staff! I think it is always important to note that the people who work at Thundercloud are always very nice and make your sandwich the way you want it. I tried the potato salad last time I went and it was a really nice alternative to chips. Overall a good place for lunch.

This is by far my favorite thunder clouds location. I have a very serious tomato allergy and they always take good care of me. The store itself has beautiful murals. The staff are always the best. Most of the stores in town have really friendly staff but this one takes the cake in my opinion. The food is always good. Great shady seating outside if you want to sit outside. Ample seating inside.
I love thundercloud subs! The veggie delight is my favorite. Their subs always taste so fresh. The brownies are so good, too. They are double chocolate and melt in your mouth. One thing I so appreciate about thundercloud is that it always brings me back to the Austin of my past, from the staff to the customers. I have been in several times at lunch and there always seems to be an older couple having lunch together. Today, the couple I spoke with said they had been married for 62 years. I only hope that my husband and I will still be going to thundercloud when we are 80+ years old!
Ok, so I just found out about thundercloud subs during my trip to Austin. I ate there Saturday night, enjoyed it tremendously, then went back Sunday for lunch and even took a sandwich back to Houston for my wife to try it. They need to open a location over here, I'd definitely support them by eating there frequently. Friendly people that work there, they even took special preparations on the sandwich that was travelling, i absolutely loved it!!
