Native NY-er here, and a former customer of the Briarcliff Manor location in Westchester. I'm very well versed in the quality of their products, and I was shocked to find this franchise pop up, only a 30 minute drive from home! I had completely given up on ever finding good Italian food in the Austin area. It just doesn't hold a candle up the real thing. Once I saw that Villarina's was here, hubby & I hopped in the car to check it out. OMG, they have real Italian bread! And Italian cookies! And pasta! And prepared meals in small and large! And on and on! 10 minutes later, we walked out with more than our freezer can hold. Two days later, we were back for more bread and cookies and pasta. Last night, we had a party at our house with other East coast peeps who were starved for good Italian food. Our hopes were high. We were not disappointed. I made my own sauce, the cheese tortellini didn't dissapoint. The bread is perfect plain, with butter, or just to wipe the plate clean of leftover sauce! Next was the chicken Marsala. It was spot on. We took a small break from food, mostly to let the cannoli cream defrost. After so many misses at all the local so-called Italian joints, one small taste of the cream, and we were back in NY. Pure heaven. Coffee and Italian cookies followed. We may not eat for a few days, but everything we had from Villarina's was the authentic, exactly as we remembered, down home cooking.

OMGosh...real east-coast Italian food in Westlake! Fresh pastas of all sizes and shapes, sauces, cookies, cannoli and bread! I just bought them out but on weekdays you can call ahead and have them heat up your lunch or dinner to go! Such an exciting alternative to fast food!

I grew up in N.J. This place is awesome, reminds me of home!!!
