To echo many of the other reviewers, this place is a hidden gem. I have lived close by for years but only realized the awesomeness a year ago or so. The tacos are seriously some of the best in Austin, and I have tried many. Way too many. Sometimes the wait is a bit long, as this place is starting to become popular due to Yelp/Google reviews, but the staff is friendly, and they definitely move quickly. Yes, it's in a gas station, but if that's the only reason you haven't tried it, you're missing out on a great piece of Austin.

Jr's Tacos is my absolute FAVORITE place to get breakfast tacos! I've been coming here ever since I moved to Texas back in 2014! And even now that I moved away from this side of town, I still drive over here to get a breakfast taco or burrito. They are that good! I've turned people on to this place from my work too. And whenever I have family in from California, I always take them here for breakfast. So I highly recommend this place. You've got to at least try it once, & then you'll be hooked!!! :) They also serve lunch/dinner too. So if you're not a morning person, you can still get lunch or dinner here.

For the taco selection in the area, this is one of my go-to places. Their pastor taco is really tasty and the tortillas are great! Yes this is a little restaurant in the side of a gas station, but their food is awesome. Pricing isn't that bad either. There isn't much seating, so I would plan on take out, but there might be a seat open when you're there.

I'm sad to see the store changing management. Ever since I've moved to the neighborhood I've loved going to Jr's. Their taco plates are awesome and a great price. I prefer their street tacos, they are extraordinary.

I've been here 4 times in the last 2 months, and I gotta say, I was impressed. They have a bunch of great tasting taco recipes: that's what I get when I go there. The staff there are kind and friendly, and there is seating for 8 people. ...Their burritos are also solid; I have yet to try their burgers though. I totally recommend JR's Tacos!

100% legit taco shop tucked away inside a gas station. These are some of the best breakfast tacos I've had in Austin. Unlike most places, they don't make tiny tacos with barely any ingredients. Plus, they actually mix the ingredients like an omelette on the grill, so you get a nice consistency throughout the taco. I will definitely be coming back many times to try the other items on the menu!

Recently moved to the area and JR's Tacos is within walking distance from me - which makes me happy, happy, happy! I tried the: Campechanos Gordita which is Beef Steak Taco with chorizo. I really enjoyed this and plan to order it again. The amount of meat was perfect and the flavor was perfect. Beef Fajita Taco on Corn tortilla. I really liked the corn tortilla. I think the beef fajita meat could have used a bit more seasoning - but all in all, it was a good taco and I would order it again. The Green salsa! Yep, reviews are accurate. I typically dont prefer this type of smooth green salsa as it is generally too spicy and bland. Not here - not at all! There was some heat - yes but not overpowering and it was flavorful - the most flavorful green salsa like this I have had anywhere in the Austin area. Yes, they now sell their green salsa and I will probably get me some my next visit. The red salsa was good - not really spicey but it was fresh and flavorful. However, my personal favorite is the green one. Customer Service is great, location is clean, and the food is good. There are many items on the menu I plan to try on my return visits! Pros: Green Salsa, Gordita, Customer Service, Location Cons: Really cant think of anything that belongs in the Cons list. Tip: Order online to skip any lines that may build up.

My husband and I get breakfast tacos here most Saturday mornings. He likes the chorizo, I go for the migas tacos. It's all delicious and worth the short wait for them to cook 'em up in this tiny corner of the gas station. The real secret though is the green sauce. I don't know what all is in it but my husband saw a girl shoving what looked like a field of jalapenos into a blender one day. It's amazing. They sell it by the bottle too but it's so popular that they often run out. I put that stuff on everything. So go buy a bottle of green sauce and while you're there try some fantastic tacos.
